YOU just literally SAVED me a $5000.00 trip to AMC ER, and my dog a lot of pain, suffering, unnecessary anesthesia and X-rays and God only knows what else. I’m SO grateful I found this video!! My dog woke up incredibly stiff and in pain. He refused to stand up without a lot of help. Could not walk and peed on himself shaking in pain. I was terrified. Vet said he needed emergency appointment. Before going in I tried this and after 5 mins of doing the massage release he took off RUNNING! It brought tears to my eyes 🥲 he’s totally fine now! Thank you X1000🙏❤️ YHWH bless you 🕊️

Found this video after spending close to 9k on treatments and an MRI as vets thought my dog had IVDD. He did not and it’s a soft tissue injury so I’m going to try this!! Thank you so much.

Wonderful revelant information here on dog body work.
Can't believe that they want as much for an animal x-ray as a human x-ray or more even.

My dog is walking with his back legs wide apart, other than that no other symptoms. He runs fine. He climbs stairs and is playful not lethargic. It has been several months since this has happened. What to do?

How to tell the difference between hip vs knee pain

  • @whimsicalvagabond6906

Hello Adam, I take care of a few strays where I live. Feed, vaccines, spaying, manage cuts and scrapes etc.
One of them was injured somewhere around the hip región, maybe the lower spine, that caused some nerve compression, which causes her to lose a lot of mobility in her right hind leg.
I took her home for a couple of months so she was able to give her injury some rest, in addition to some exercises/physiotherapy and medicines to help her manage the pain she was in. Xrays showed no bone abnormalities or fracturas. She is one year old. I released her back with her pals and she is domingo much better now, running around and playing, but she Stiller has a slight limp which the vet says will get better with time.
She now has a golf Ball sized muscle knot right where you showed the oblique muscle and is painful to the touch.
Is there some way I can send you a couole of pictures and maybe some videos, so you could perhaps help me help her heal faster?

Hi, It sounds like you are already doing a great job with her. The best thing to do is have her looked at and make sure she is assessed properly. I wouldn't feel comfortable giving recommendations from just seeing pictures. I hope that helps, and keep up the good work!

@Dr. Adam Markew - The hard lumps became soft and squishy over the past week and have a pussy discharge.
The vet says it could be an abcess that needs surgery and wants to send a sample of the discharge for an FNAC test.
I hope it turns out well for her.
      Thank you for your advice.

@@hennesippn7145 - The abscesses healed. I did a culture sensitivity test and it was a 3+ for cefuroxime. So we were able to fix the abscess.
But just 2 days back, she was hit by a vehicle sometime at night, X Ray shows a fractured vertebra T4 or T3. Broken in 3 places. She was also keeping unwell recently and had lost appetite, I had her blood work done and her CBC showed high WBC counts. She got hit the night prior I was to get her admitted, and now she has lost mobility in her hind quarters.
So she is now getting treated for tick fever, and once her infection stabilises she will receive MPSS to treat her spinal injury.
Poor thing she is just one and a half, and is going through a lot. It breaks my heart.
I am sorry if this is not what you wanted to hear. But such is life. She gets discharged on 5th. I’ll bring her home and give her some rest, let her vertebra fuse and then try some physiotherapy/exercises. The vet has advised against surgery to fix her spine.
I don’t know what else to do. She is such a sweet girl and it breaks my heart to see her having to go through so much.
The rest are all doing fine.

Is the psoas muscle responsible for internal rotation of the rear legs on a puppy about 7 months?

    • @k9activehealth
      @k9activehealth  7 місяців тому +1

It can be involved yes. Most muscles work synergistically with other muscle groups, therefore without checking the dog and doing a full workup it's difficult to say.

I did this to my dog. She has HD and CES, so she has major issues at that area. I was doing it very, very gentle but she was NOT liking it at and i stopped because she cried out. Is this a sign that its very sore and i should work on it with her or leave it completely be ?

Maybe try other things, like a hot compress, and see if that helps. Have you ever taken her to a chiropractor, or to physical therapy, or to an accupuncturist?
If your dog is crying out from the discomfort, then I would ease up on that massage for a while, and see if she's okay with it later.
