- Just installed the WRX JDM armrest in my 2022 WRX Premium! It is a great fit! I love having the extra storage. I highly suggest installing this JDM armrest in your 2022 Subaru WRX. There were no fitment issues and it feels great! Doesnt get in the way of the shifter either! Youll have more space to store your goodies and its comfortable on long drives!

I have the Subaru one that pulls up. It's also made of softer material. I wonder if I could combine the two. Probably be way too high!
Haha yea I've noticed that people are finding out I'm in a few FB groups with them 🤣we are one big community. Yea the extension with the fold up extension would be super high ! Hahah
I also have JDM parts, and they all are like your part color differant .... does not matter do U buy black or grey, there is always color problem... for now I installed additional cup holder below arm rest, because 2018 does not have it... :) nice video
I saw someone had the rear cup holders in a WRX/STi which was pretty cool. The 22 premium has cables for USB in the back of the center console so the cupholders won't fit anymore
I see they make a black version and a grey version, which is this? I see it doesnt quite match, which isnt a big deal but im super OCD lol
I have the armrest extension I wonder how it would be to combine this with the extension…I might order the JDM arm rest and try it

I am in the same boat. I have the armrest extension but its annoying as it covers the cupholder and I need it extended all the time. I had this jdm extender on my 21 and it was great to have the extra shelf for sunglasses. I found this video and it looks like it will work with our set up. ua-cam.com/video/2G1w8ghINwc/v-deo.html

nice vid sir - I've got an '18 and was looking at those. I had a 2009 Mazda 3 that had the higher armrest stock, trying to decide whether I like the lower "US" spec or the higher JDM.
Thank you so much! Honestly for me it was the extra storage space. Once I saw that I was sold. I don't rest my arm on it much and it doesn't bother me during shifting so I went for it.

I dropped a screw down in the frame part of the car after removing the cover. Any chance of anything bad happening? Or finding it?
That's it. The car is dead. Might as well trade it in! Jkjk I doubt anything bad will happen. It'll probably live there forever 🤣.

Man, I would love to have this piece in mine, but I think I'd only wanna pay like 50 bucks and not 170+. Seems so steep for a plastic bucket and some screws 😂😅
It is pretty pricey but I got mine used from someone off marketplace. Maybe that's an option. I have to say tho I am resting my arm on it all the time. It does limit the backup holder but overall it's really good.
any intervene when putting a cup in the fron cup holder?
Front cup holder is fine, the back one (closest to the armrest) is an issue for tall cups. For me I have protein shaker bottles and they def do not fit in the back.
Does it work with the microsuede extension?
Is it level with the door armrest now?

Just confirming, the part is for 2021 and previous years but it works on the 2022? Trim level doesn't matter right? It's all the same dimensions?
This is correct. It works on the 15-21 VA. Someone just found out that it's compatible with the 22 because they didn't change the center dimensions.

Is it the same height as the door armrest?
It's not. I'd say it's a few inches below but it feels a lot better if I put my arm on the door and other arm on this.
Actually I just tested it and remembered your comment. It's actually pretty close in height to the door. Fairly comfortable and I don't really feel a difference in higher. The door is maybe 1 inch higher but it's not perceptible...at least not to me.
@@HeavyMetalWRX Thanks a lot. I test drove a 2022 a couple days ago, and the height difference between the door and stock center arm rest would definitely bug me. I was thinking the arm rest extension would be a must, but this mod seems like a much better option with the extra storage space.
Need to trash that screwdriver and get a JIS screwdriver.
You might be right! I have not heard of that screwdriver. I'll look it up.
@@HeavyMetalWRX The screws on Japanese cars looks like Phillips but they are Japanese Industrial Standard. Theyre really easy to strip out if you dont have a JIS screw driver. Theyre cheap on Amazon. I recomend Vessel brand.
