I hated RedHawk for that exact reason. However, it can be noted that the trigger might as well be a Bege trigger. -10,000 is almost impossible to come back from
Idk I think red hawk is a good card. While it can come across as cheese you can also think of it as something that has to be respected. I run the no searcher build so it's really my only option going second on curve and can be used to remove a lot of good cards from play. Even late game it is still worth 4k counter and can remove chump blockers. Really comes down to personal preference. Even against dofla where they can counterplay by adding a don, its still a basically guaranteed removal on teach
Great video, love to see Shanks updates and gameplay. To understand the general level of opponents, who do you usually play on ranked, are these 500m or 1b or 2b opponents etc?
After 2 local tournaments with Shanks where everyone was expecting it, it definitely went to my chopping block list. I'd rather put on some early game bodies to help with some matchups that establish board fast.
I’d probably go with Roger in that spot if you want something to deal with blockers. We also have lime juice which when combod with otama can shut off any 6k blocker :)
I'm a fan of the red hair build simply because Roux and Yasopp feel good to drop on curve. I ran a control list with no red hawk at my locals and went 3-1, only losing the mirror. Still came second. I was running the 7 cost newgate but I think I'll cut it for Dragon/Marco.
@moregunzthanroses281 my problem is that you don't have the consistent power reduction like Marco to make it effective against anything that isn't doffy.
I was on Newgate to start with, cards definitely OK but like you say against anything that’s not Doffy it feels pretty useless. Building snake marco is pretty nice for early removal. Think I’m gonna put roux back in, struggling a bit with pluffy, much easier with him
You need ace in shanks is so good against enel, blackbeard, lucci and anything blue. Hitting ace on curb going 1st against doffy then ben beckman to raighley is insane.
Do definitely like ace! So many cards I’m enjoying in shanks at the moment, hard to fit them all into 50. depends on what matchups you want to tech for 👍
Just won the 2nd anniversary tournament with Shanks. I didn't run red hawk but I did run 4 Bad Manners Kick Course. 1st round Doffy 2nd round Blackbeard 3rd round Pluffy 4th round Doffy . I ran 3 Newgates from the starter deck instead of 8 cost Dragon. Helped a lot against doffy and Blackbeard. Snake is not really that necessary. 2 cost sanji was cool against Pluffy for early pressure. Id liked Ace better than Marco.
I also don't like Red Hawk. Early game its okish, late game its just a brick. Can't search for it when you need it and keeping up 2 is just rarely what you want to do imo. I prefer just running rush Zoro as an early game play.
But the whole point of most of Shank´s deck is pretty much to hold the opponent´s aggro untill he can start deploying the heavy hitters (beckmann, Rayleigh, rush shanks). Shanks usually has no problem taxing the opponent´s defenses, clearing board and draining some life early to mid game even without zoro, but if he gets punished too harshly on the early game, it won´t be the 10c shanks, or any other endgame boss that will save him.
@@GGWyzzy Yeah but unlike Red Hawk you can't just play around Zoro + your opponent needs to commit ressources to defend against and clear him. In addition to that he can come in handy lategame as a surprise to finish the game.
Glad you're seeing the light. Red hawk only worked when people didnt realize shanks was running it
That was a great game against doffy. Well played for sure 🎉

Very true 👍 have won at least 1 game with that so far 😂

Hi, thanks for watching! As the month goes on the opponents will generally get better as I rank up. ATM I’m around 500m, last month ended about 1.2B 👍

Yeah I’m probably putting roux back in soon. He’s nice vs pluffy and ok if doffy whiffs the law bounce :)
@@Marinefordtcgwhat would you switch for lucky roux?
@@dengdid9948 I’ve cut Roger, 1 guard point and 1 building snake. Could cut uta searcher instead IYW but extra consistency is always nice :)
@@Marinefordtcg I find it difficult for me to cut Roger as he sometimes has won me the game :,)
Anyone running the 5 drop Luffy with rush ? 2 Don opponent can’t block ?

Congratulations on the win! Representing Shanks well 👊
I feel like shanks doesn’t do too good going second. I’m gonna see how I do with 4 lucky roo, 2 shuraiyas.
how did you get the alt arts on the sim?
There’s a link to a Google drive on maebatsu’s link tree that has the images. From there you have to copy them over manually into your sim data files

It depends on your build if you run Marco it’s never a brick since you can trash it late game to keep Marco alive
@@AceSlayxx yeah but I can just run events that are useful without Marco like bad manners kick course or the search event
Red Hawk counting Don as well is such a bad mechanic. It shouldn't count attached Don.
What??
I think it’s fine as is, red events are all a bit of a skill check same as a lot of the red triggers
