Congratulations on being voted as the Ukulele Personality of the Year! I am so happy for you. Thank you for all of your hard work helping people all over the world learn to play such a fun little instrument. This recognition is so very well deserved. 🌹
@@UkuleleWales Your welcome ! Missing our friendly group. I tell my American friends it’s like going to a virtual Pub ! You have such a great you tube. But but beyond that you have been so giving as a teacher for all your students and fellow ukulele players. You have been an inspiration for me! I encouraged a friend to get into ukulele. Now she already upgraded to a nice ukulele and loves her ukulele jam sessions !!!
First of all, congrats on your UKIE win! Nice comparison of these ukes, I'm going to have another look at the ultra travel series, I heard the texture on the neck of those feels nicer. A concert scale soprano body sounds interesting and I'd have every reason to buy one as I don't have one of those yet hahaha
Thanks Stephanie. 😊 I do intend to look at the ultra series too as I don’t have one of those yet! 😉 Which means of course if you don’t have a concert scale soprano yet………….. 😂
Great review Rachel. I have the same soprano bought 3 years ago but what an improvement with metal frets as I couldn't complain after 3 years but the plastic frets on mine wore out so I let flight know and it appears they took notice 😊. Well done on your win, well deserved 💪👏
Just for clarity; I do not think they are metal frets. Also: Amazon sells and it looks like it is from Flight, but it is really from the regional distributor. Flight doesn’t do any direct sales.
Hi Rachel, Happy New Year to you! Thank you for this review of the two Flight ukuleles. I especially liked the TUC-40 Granada concert because of the attractive body!
Thank you! You too Terry. Yes I loved the design on the concert one too. There are lots of really cool designs with these so it really was difficult to decided but this was the one that caught me eye the most. 🥰
Great little video Rachel i really enjoyed it, it seems like two lovely ukes for the money and they both sound great especially in that price bracket, if i collected ukes or went out playing a lot i would certainly buy both of them, keep those videos coming ❤
Thanks for this fresh review. All the others are so old as the TUS/TUC series are old, even the signature ones with the awesome artworks. I'm still thinking on TUS, TUSL, even TUC and the signature plus artistic ones as a total beginner....
Finally got time to watch you win the well deserved title "ukulele personality of the year"🎉🎉🎉 Your dress was gorgeous but without those matching shoes I wouldn't even have noticed it 🤣🥰
I have several Flight ukes: soprano, soprano concert scale, concert. Most are soprano of different models. The only one I don't like, which is my most recent purchase, is the Arcana finish, which is downright ugly... but I bought it on clearance so maybe I'll try painting it or something... (couldn't make it look any uglier if it fails).
Hiya Chris, Happy New Year. Yes, I knew it wasn’t wood but couldn’t remember the details. Actually have one on order so looking forward to checking it out. 😎
The Flight travel ukes have metal frets on their polycarbonate fretboards where as the Magic Fluke fretboards have molded plastic frets on their polycarbonate fretboards (their wood fretboards have metal frets). Hope that makes sense. 👍
@@UkuleleWales if you’re an arty/ crafty person there’s nothing to stop someone from painting up a cheaper ukulele. Whilst rendering a few Monterey ukes playable (create top sound port, work on the tuning gears, fret job, nut slots, sanding off the bridge, mandatory re-string🙄) a few years ago, I gave one a ‘dark red - fade to black at the headstock’ and lacquer. It was pretty nice in the end, the old fellah that we gave it to was dead chuffed with it.

Thank you so much Pam 😊
Nice review ! Love the look of the concert one. Congrats on your Ukie win. !! Brilliant
Thank You Bonnie, and of course for all your support! Missing our Friday night anarchy 😉

Congrats on your Ukie! I haven't tried any Flight ukes yet so this was very helpful.
Glad it was helpful and Thanks 😊
well done Rachel, very very well deserved, brilliant !!
Thank You, a bit of a shock but over the moon! 😊
I'm thinking of treating myself to a TUC 40 seeing you review of it. Also congratulations on your Win. Looking foreword to 2024 playing my Ukulele's.
Thanks, still in shock a bit. Yes, they are a great uke and great value too Paul. Happy New Year 🥳
Congratulations on your Ukie Award!!!!
Nice review Rachel. I like the sound and design of the Concert model. Can't beat the price either.
Thank You Judi and yes, I love the design of these, so many different designs. 👍
Love the Granada design. A super review.
Thanks Mike, yes, a very cool design. 😎
This summer, I ordered a Flight Concert after all the hype about the Enya travel Concert.
Much to my surprise, i actually like the Flight better.
Hi, yes I love the Enyas but the Flight ukes are very different and great in their own way. 👍

I have the concert travel uke and I leave it at school to play for the kids. I don’t have to worry about it getting beat up or warped 😊😊
They are great for this I totally agree. Can’t wait to take them into school to show the kids! Happy New Year 🥳
Great little video Rachel i really enjoyed it, it seems like two lovely ukes for the money and they both sound great especially in that price bracket, if i collected ukes or went out playing a lot i would certainly buy both of them, keep those videos coming ❤
Happy New Year Peter! Yes, love both of these and after playing one at Shrewkfest I knew I’d have to get one or two! 😉
Thanks Rachel. Fun instruments. Would be interested in your Flight Ultra review. Happy New Year.
Hi Lisa and Happy New Year. Yes, Flight Ultra coming soon so review will follow. 👍
Thanks for this fresh review. All the others are so old as the TUS/TUC series are old, even the signature ones with the awesome artworks.

I have to admit, I love this series of ukes, they are so nice to play and look fab! 😊
Congrats on your Ukie win. !! Brilliant
Thank you so much 😀

Thank You for the lovely comment Julia. The boots were a must! 😂
Happy New Year Rachel 🌟
And a Happy New Year to you too Clive. Hope you are keeping well 😊

They are great aren’t they! Maybe some king of dye over it or just go made and total repaint. Let me know how you get on. 👍
The Flight Ultra Travel is all polycarbonate…no laminate top.
Hiya Chris, Happy New Year. Yes, I knew it wasn’t wood but couldn’t remember the details. Actually have one on order so looking forward to checking it out. 😎
I love these ukes-they’re cheap, but durable and they sound amazing!
Totally agree, great travel ukes. 😎
Is it pretty much the same fretboard as a magic fluke?
The Flight travel ukes have metal frets on their polycarbonate fretboards where as the Magic Fluke fretboards have molded plastic frets on their polycarbonate fretboards (their wood fretboards have metal frets). Hope that makes sense. 👍
🏴🥇🏆🥳👍❗️Congrats on the Ukies.
Lovely headstock shape😍, think I prefer it ‘plain’😊👍
Totally agree Billy, I love the overall look of these. I do like the plain look but I have to admit, the designs on them are a lovely feature. 😊
