- I loved this week's song! Who knew a ballad about a clipped coin could tug at your heartstrings so much?
I did not make this song and the puppets involved! All rights to to Shane Madej and all of the lovely people at Watcher.
The link to the episode it came from: • Isaac Newton's Nemesis...
my favorite part of this entire episode is that ryan is so blinded by his distaste for the professor and his songs that he inadvertently wishes death on randy newman
I cannot wait to see the outcome of the Ryan vs Professor arc!
@@beepblueboop Was it worth the wait? :D
@@LadyhawksLairDotCom Somehow the answer is both yes and no simultaneously 😂
@@beepblueboop WAS IT WORTH THE WAIT?
Okay but why is this song legit beautiful
cuz TJ Marchbank and Shane make a great musicmaking artists!!!!! 😆😆😆
It's the Randy Newman vibes
Anthropomorphic Coin: *starts singing*
Ryan: Randy Newman?
fun fact:
Mozart actually wrote this song but it was too emotional for him to perform and then when he met Shane on his deathbed, Shane took it and brought it to this episode
It's so kind of Shane to have preserved such an emotional price from such an amazing man. This truly demonstrates how talented of a musician Shane is in the fact that he was able to keep up with Mozart himself!
Proof that Shane is immortal and has seen everything that the professor has teached
@@greythomas6199 or...it’s proof that Shane is in fact a demon since demons are also immortal.
Not only is this a bop but it’s actually really sad when you think about it and the music is beautiful. It doesn’t have the pile of diamond type energy and it doesn’t have the same swing as the death song, but this is slower and sad. The song is just the coin crying for help and hoping that it dies because it’s been treated wrongly.
This is a really beautiful song! I think part of the reason it stands out so much is that we've never had any song like it on the show before. I'm kind of hoping we get a few more songs like it in the future.
Not only did the man nail the Randy Newman impression, he managed to write a song that felt like a Newman song in every way. Shane is an honest to god talent!
Crying over a puppet coin dammit Shane
*passes the box of tissues with a six foot rod* me too, me too.
This is like an actually good song. Not that other puppet history songs aren’t good but this ones great
I feel like you could play this in front of your family without context and they'd all enjoy it too.
I genuinely got choked up first time I heard it.
This is one of the songs that you can listen to out of context and it still mostly makes sense. It’s beautiful.
Anyone else find the ending oddly beautiful?
It's the coin finding beauty and hope even in a world that's been so cruel to it 😭
I was singing this in the car lmao it’s like the catchiest one for some reason
still to this day I can’t stop singing about a pile of diamonds
Dude this one made me cry!
It did make me tear up a bit when I first heard it!
Am I the only one that really had the feels for this coin?
*What are you talking about, I'm totally not tearing up in the corner-*
For real a true heart hitter
This clipped coin gets me 👁️👄👁️
Same.
of all the songs so far ive got to say this one sticks out to me the most, just bc its vibe is entirely different from the others. with most of the puppet history songs there's a lot of jokes in the lyrics and shane's sing matches that jokey tone; even in songs with more straightforward lyrics or with emotional moments you cant divorce them from their context at all, there's a sense of irony/comedy in shane's voice that sticks out even if you don't hear the lyrics properly,. the voices he uses just have a... /tone/ to them.
but not in this song! for some reason or other--maybe bc he's too busy trying to match randy newman's cadence?--the vocal winking-at-the-audience isn't happening here. it sounds like a serious if esoteric song, like something an indie band would make, which is wild and kind of fascinating.
How did this make me have feels for a coin????🥺
why does the coin look like andy warhol though
you're doing the lord's work
Thank you! This really is just for fun though 😂
Why does shane make me cry over a clipped coin 😭😭 this song is just so sad and beautiful💗💗💗
I was CRYING laughing during this song. "Randy Newman?"
Edit: I now see that everyone else was legit crying, but Shane's Randy voice is the funniest shit to me
I wish there was sheet music or an instrumental track for this I kinda wanna do a cover and stretch it out for another minute or so XD
Is it weird I have this saved to my "music playlist?" I didn't even like Randy Newman very much, but this just warms and hurts my heart at the same time
I have quite a few of these saved to the music app of my phone, so I don't think so 😂
“Pale blue sky”🎶☀️
I never thought I could relate to a coin more in my adult life lol!
This song could be like. An actual song that just happens to use the historical context of the mint to tell a message
Like this song could literally be a dude working day after night for an ungrateful small town but refusing to lose the generous nature that so often has him taken advantage of- and the only thing he hopes is to find peace in the afterlife where he’ll finally be rewarded for the hard work and charity that no one cared about when he was alive
This is an incredible impression
Either that or Shane kidnapped the real Randy Newman for this and he had to listen to Ryan talk shit all while being forced to sing from the perspective of a coin
If I was this Randy guy I'd be honored
This song makes me sad it's so good.
Ok but you could hear this song on the radio, like it hits some emotional strings
I just can't get over how happy the guy on the right looks at 0:48
This is just a really good and sad song?
This clipped coin has clipped my heart 😢
Is Keith doing back vocals?
wait a minute...DID LEWBERGER DO THE CHORUS FOR THIS?!?!?!
Idk how I feel about this song. Like, I know I enjoy the song but I can't tell what I feel when listening to this song.
Poor coin. He deserves better.
Also helps reaffirm my hatred of William Challenor
I come back over and over to listen to this - it really is hauntingly beautiful... and I'm not even a Randy Newman fan!
Not me crying because of a randy newmanish coin
This is the only song in PH that I can't immediately recognize as Shane singing.
I think he was possessed by Randy Newman who in turn sang though him
I love the fact that when I looked up Randy Newman, this video popped up amidst Randy Newman vids, lol
legit made me cry inside
"randy newman?????"
This guy would make a great memecoin.
loved all the puppet history songs so far but just heard this one for the first time and I genuinely love it so much!!
Does anyone know, is it based on a Randy Newman song or is it completely original?
1:06 *shane when he hears a ghost*
Is this song based off something besides the clipped coins
It's supposed to sound like Randy Newman
@@beepblueboop thank you I didn't know if it was based of something so thank you for answering my question don't listen to music much
I- I have to..... First comment
"Nasty Scammers"
Ay tone, why did the English treat harshly on these people and even told them to get out?
I wish there was sheet music or an instrumental track for this I kinda wanna do a cover and stretch it out for another minute or so XD
