👁 About this video : Today I check out the Chevy Spark and see what it's like to drive the cheapest brand new car you can buy! Honestly I thought this was a great small size car, it has a good amount of space if you don't have much to pack, the mpg is incredible so you can drive this as much as you want and have a small 9 gallon tank to fill and it comes with a warranty! I've seen these cars on the roads, but never really thought to check one out, and there are three trims levels you can opt for providing you with some options you can go with or without. It actually drives very well and seems sooth and comfortable. For being a cheap car, it doesn't have much in the interior as far as amenities go, but you have the essentials, like AC, bluetooth and a nice interior featuring a touch screen system. I had plenty of room in the back seats so you can have 4 people in the car and have space being the seats too. I think this is a great option if you don't want to spend a lot of money and want a new car at the same time!

I live in the mountains alot of steep hills on these twisty roads. My wife's 2020 spark zips around like a dream. Plenty of acceleration and hill power. I really love this car. I drove it instead of my jeep afew times I love it so much.
Great little city car, wait till gas starts going upwards $4 and this thing will make a lot of sense driving around the city!

It's a cool little city car for sure! Even with the gas prices I couldn't buy this, it's just too small for what I need! I'd rather ride my motorcycle which cost less to fill up :)

ATX Trent yeah it’s not more reliable lol. These Chevy’s are probably one of the most reliable cars they make. Most of the parts have been around for a decade or longer like the suspension. Without a turbocharger or anything there’s really nothing complicated about it, and you don’t have to worry about your engine dying prematurely like with a Mirage. A 3cyl just doesn’t cut it for American driving unless you’re strictly and Northeastener and your max speed is like 65mph.
This car doesn't come with fog lights since there is no fog light switch on the main headlight dial. it's a combo of Day time / turn signal. I also own a 2020 2LT Spark.
I figured it did because they didn't turn on when the vehicle was running while I did the turn signal shot. But good to know, it's a fun little car!
I liked this video alot speaker spoke very smooth and clear you understood everything and I've always loved this little car, if I didn't have a new car already this would be it

I don't see any problem with this car despite it's low price. People who buy much more expensive and more powerful cars often don't use all the features they pay for.
That is true too! I'm not a huge fan of all the tech, but I don't think it could buy something this small! The Chevy Spark is cool for city driving or lots of commuting!
I just bought a 1LT fully loaded. 2020! It is a great fun. Everything on the 1LT is electric.
Can't be fully loaded if there's a 2LT out there.
Hint: if you program a key fob from an ‘upgraded’ car you can unlock the trunk and driver door, since Chevy just uses the same part for all models (and are electronic doors).
Programming is super easy once you get the key cut (which is the hard part). Had a dealer that was willing to do a cut for $10 but I had to go through a bunch of other joints that wanted to charge over $100 which is ludicrous.
Would this work on the 2019 as well?
Can you explain this more? The lock situation is my only complaint with this car. I’ve takes to many people and they all seem to think that they need to wire stuff.

I recently got a 2021 Spark with a manual. Well worth it as a first car. Especially the LT trim. You get a lot for your money. It’s the most gutless thing I’ve ever driven but hey, slow car fast > fast car slow.

I rented one today and although I’m not used to it because of it having those roller windows, no armrests for passengers, but still having android auto and Apple CarPlay and all these different things is confusing me but still gives me a sense of modernity. Overall a pretty good compact car.
It's a great small car if that's all you want or need. Great daily and very inexpensive!
The RS package makes this car a lot better. That said, it’s a great car for basic transportation. Point A to Point B. Nice car for a first time driver or even an elderly person just going around town. Only thing I would have changed is power windows in all trim levels.
Yeah the RS would add some nice sporty touches. It'd be hard to not have power windows! Thats a big thing to get used to not having!

Chevrolet spark was a good value for money car available in India with good build quality . But people were crazily going after Suzuki. Spark was priced 5000 USD.
Interesting. We don't really see many of the Suzuki cars here anymore. Ever since GM sold them!! sold them off. Sparks are a good cheap car here

This is the only Spark that I have been in! If anyone else has owned one, hopefully they can chime in, but I thought it drove fine!
Only 9 gallons of fuel but it’s great fuel economy makes up for it.

I'm on my third Spark, looks just like that. Love them. Big selling point is the motor has a timing chain-not a belt that can break and destroy the motor. Worry free. I can get manual transmission, no cvt for me either.
It's about the only car that isn't a complete gadget basket,,all I want is a car, don't even want that touchscreen. Give me good ol pushbutton radio.
Priced right my 2020 was $12,600 out the door. My lavender 14 was 10k on the lot, loved the color so traded my 13 Spark for it. There isn't a car made worth more than 15k, those gadgets don't give any more life to the car.
I did make 43 mpg on a loop, with manual. I paid cash for each one, great car, I hope Chevy keeps them coming-with stick that is.

Omg I cannot see manual lock, manual mirrors and manual side mirrors on a 2020 car. I was a kid last time I saw those handles for the front mirrors (I'm 42 now). If you spend few thousands more you can have a quite serious over 100 hp sedan with all mod cons.
It's crazy to see that it's still offered, but the Spark is that very cheap, entry level type car. They do offer it with power everything which I would definitely opt for, but they sell!
The Kio Rio is a couple thousand more but offers a whole lot more. You should review that car.

Bros FOURR Speed we went to buy my son a used car for under $12k. The Kia dealer that I bought my Stinger from said “Why buy used when a brand new Rio is basically the same price”. He was right and we bought the Rio with a full warranty and everything for just under $15k. You can get them for about $10k brand new now. They get absolutely incredible real world gas mileage and they have much more power than the Chevy. Just an all around fantastic bargain. I still don’t understand how Kia makes money on selling them.

I found the fact that the keys don't have a remote lock/unlock and the roll up windows weird. I was surprised to see a modern infotainment system with apple carplay and android auto to say the least. It's like a car from the late 90s that's had the infotainment replaced. Even cars from the early 2000s had remote control keys!
Thomas Dazoxa it’s a super ultra budget base model they always come with regular keys and roll up windows. The infotainment system was a shocker though, Applecar play? Not even the new 370z have that 😂
I think financing with bad credit is why someone would go for this. Super easy to finance with a big company like GM if you cant get anything else. Used cars are harder to get financed. SO thats probably where this serves its purpose.

You said fog lights. I don’t see how to turn them on. Just got this car last night. So far so good.
I haven't been in this car in awhile, but it should be somewhere on the left of the steering wheel, some models don't have them though.

Yeah the Chevy Spark is a very small car, the trunk space is minimal, but definitely a lot more with the seats folded down!

I'll never understand why people buy brand new cars unless they're rich. On top of that, I'll never understand why anyone would buy a brand new Chevy Spark for $15k. You could buy something 2 or 3 years old with low miles, a hell of a lot more options, much nicer looks and performance, as well as still having some time left on the factory warranty. The infotainment was a surprise but roll up windows and a key without a fob? For $15k?? That's a huge ripoff and disappointment considering you could opt for so many other options at the same price point.
Well a lot of new cars are great ways to get into a worry free experience. A car like this being at the bottom of the spectrum. Someone with bad credit can more easily get an approval on this. Brand new cars are way easier to finance. And having a big company like Chevy dealing with thousands of banks. It makes it easier to get into a car if someone cant afford much. Every car has a buyer ;)
The lure of a brand new car for a young family for 15 k is a compelling proposition for slot of families.
Justin Magyar I have one of these cars that is now going on 3 years old. My mom bought it new for me. I think she looked to get the best deal she could. I think she said she got it for cheaper than what it was supposed to cost.
Richard Favreau I can definitely understand wanting that peace of mind but if you do your research you can find a car that will be just as reliable, if not more reliable than a brand new car. For anyone purchasing a brand new car I would recommend not getting the first year of a new generation vehicle because they’re typically going to have issues that need to be sorted out. Example, when the newest generation Camry came out in 2018, I would recommend waiting until the 2019 or 2020 model comes out because that would’ve given Toyota time to fix any issues that were present within the first model year of that car.
Granted my spark wasn't brand new but here's the reasoning I can't make payments on random used cars. Second reason is Rust I live in the rust belt you can't just go by miles where I live. Plus the one I got has power windows and a keyfob.

Keep in mind this is a cheap car for people wanting the most basic car as possible. Can always paint things after the fact.

Get a new or used Mitsubishi Mirage instead. Much more reliable and their 3 cylinder engines are time tested and proven and very basic with so little to go wrong. No major engine defect issues reported and its been out since 2012 in other countries. Now look up the Chevy Spark engine issues particularly the 2013-2015 Chevy Spark, engine failures, piston issues, oil leaks and usage and knocking. Plus Sparks had electrical issues even wipers freezing when it rained and not working.
There are definitely a lot of cheap cars out there to buy for people on a budget!
It's a lot less ugly than the previous model.

Destroy the language to devolve the culture, to enslave and pervert the people. You can see evidence of the change by comparing old material to new material. Watch a TV show or movie older than 2000 and you will not hear "issue" used as a euphemism for problem.
