Yeah the burgundy in the ilia palette is matte, and the foiled brown is much more of a main character for that palette, so I think they would complement each other!
I love how Wayne's shadows work and are easy to use. I hate that so many makeup companies are chasing influencers by making everything about BIG BOLD PIGMENT LOADED COLOR and super duper textured shimmers. Those things look great in swatches but don't always work so well on the eye. The color story reminds me of the DOC Pretty Cool and Marvelous Mauves palettes, but with different textures.
Urban Decay and Elizabeth Arden both do beautiful creamy full-colour eye liner pencils. This was a much much prettier look than I was expecting. I'm still going to wait for the Pearl palette to come back into stock, but I really like this Palette!! Such a good review 😄

Umm this is stunning. I wasn’t expecting to like this one at all, but it’s undeniably pretty. I was going to patiently wait for that pearl palette to come back in stock but now I’m questioning everything.
You absolutely articulated my issues with eye liner pencils in general. And when I try to correct it, the line gets too thick for my small, hooded eyes. I have been using eyeshadow and an angled brush for years but then convinced myself I needed to try pencils and make them work for a ‘proper’ wing. Result? I’m back to the angled brush …. 😂
I want to preface by saying I love WG! I absolutely love the Pearl and Imperial Topaz palette... This one was a wash for me and I was so looking forward to it. I was really hoping the burgundy's were going to be more red toned, but when I put the colors on my eye, it was straight up purple looking? I can't explain but I can't wear purple or like how it looks on me. Plus the beautiful sparkle color on the bottom right was very lack luster in comparison with his first two :( I let the palette go, but at least stil have the first two!
I also do the angled brush in eyeshadow as liner method 99% of the time. The only other thing I reach for is the clinique quick liner. I love that it's got a smudger on one side it's not too pigmented. It's just easy to tightline and smudge into place and then use the angled liner brush for a flick when I want it.

I would love to know how that compares to some of the eyeshadow palettes you have reviewed recently. Honestly I won't buy anything anymore before you review it!

I’ve been waiting for the Pearl Palette but, whoa, this is GORGEOUS on you. 🥰 That’s it. I’m getting it. I can do reds around my eye without looking sick, but I look better with warm and neutral tones rather than cool tones. But man, I like this so much on you I’m going to give it a whirl.

You say its unique and I was a little concerned that it may be too similar to ND Retro palette which I have on my Christmas wishlist. You don't think so?
man I was trying so hard to engage thoughtfully with this video but one obnoxious brain cell was stomping over every critical thought with a megaphone shouting “SO PRETTY KACKIE LOOKS SO PRETTY”. Loved this review though, v surprised by how ‘me’ this palette turned out - although I do wonder how these shadows would perform differently with a primer/wet brush? Would be kind of disappointing if what appears at first glance to be a super saturated palette turned out to be an ashy nightmare for deep skin tones! lmk when you want my non-refundable deposit re: moving in tho

If you can’t wear either red- or blue- based purples, it may have something to do with your undertone? 🤷🏻♀️

I think that palette kinda reminds me of the Ilia Cool Nude one? Similar-ish colors and aren't those also a little on the sheer side?
The burgundy in that one is matte, there is a satin purple that’s similar, and the brown is a mega foil texture. They would go together really well.
