- This truck was easily one of the coolest builds at the Red List event! From the pieced together homemade intake, to the layer of rubber on the back of the cab from the burnouts, it was clear this truck had plenty of character! As we had hoped, it was also fast! This video was a lot of them figuring out the truck, and we cannot wait to see this thing’s true potential!

Adding to all the others who really like this truck AND th young man - Griffen Steinfeld - who's building it. He's positive, energetic, excited, optimistic EVERY run and loads of fun to listen to. Always been a fan of the 60-66 C10's. My dad had a 64 for several years. It had a small block in it and was anything but fast, but it got the job done. We drove it from Las Vegas to southwestern PA with a 87 Bronco II in tow. We had a camper shell on it with a foam mattress in the bed and he put in a pass through window so we could crawl through and take turns sitting in the cab.
Once I finish my current project the next on the list is a C10 of the same era, except I plan on a 6.0 TT street rod.

Loved the build. I once pulled the engine out of my daily driver pickup to put in a friends dirt tracker. He ran it for several weeks averaging 2nd or 3rd in a b-class of about 20. Your build was way beyond my 70's technology but loved the do with what you have attitude. P.S. I'm a Ford man all the way...lol...but class is class.

cee dee Not really. Fuel injection has been out and tunable since the mid to late 80s. People have been putting computer controlled engines in vehicles and tuning the system themselves for almost as long. Before laptops, you burned chips with a desktop PC and installed those.
Jump to flashable ECM's in the mid 90s(at GM, at least) and that's when you really started seeing laptops in vehicles. The fact that it's an older vehicle makes no difference. You still install and tune it just the same, no matter what it's in.

That truck is fucking sick! My 78 GMC is almost like this I took out the 454 and dropped in a 572 it just needs a couple turbos and some more work!

You can hear that truck pushing real hard,, Surprised the engine lasted that long.. It's heavy still for sure, 63,64,65, Chevy was heavy duty truck's, came with a straight 6 back in the day. Stepdad had a 64 pickup, straight fender, built like a tank, stick, and straight 6 engine.

Thats what I was saying other than making passes on the track it wouldnt be much fun. To each his own though.
First couple of passes looked slow out of the hole but it got better on the last run.
