I love Bulba's way of seeing the patches. It's true that despite some heroes being meta and such, they can still be beaten. Also, surprised the OD-Omni patch wasn't mentioned. That one is stuck in my brain until now when those two are picked literally every single game.
We need a 'remember when' with the map environments. The map has changed to being more open these days where as before the map was full of condensed corridors made of cliff and trees. This needs investigated please P Flax
Bulba was indeed the march of the machine pioneer on Tinker, I remember when it happened. Back then it was standard to play tinker as a "ganker", maxing rocket and laser and just killing people left and right with the high burst damage. Bulba chose to max march of the machine and kill ancients and farm the map which was very unconventional. The rest is history
LOLOL stop it man. for all we know you dont even know how to play dota. Maybe you are just one of those nerds who remembers all the memes the faculty the staff and most of the team members. YOU ARE THERE FOR THE ARCHIVE .
Funny enough, when I first started playing Tinker maxing March of Machines was the optimal tinker build and I was completely oblivious to it, I kept maxing Laser and Rocket every single game.
I love Bulba's enthusiasm about these broken patches, but he and his team definitely tunnel visioned in the main stage this TI straight to the airport.
the best patch for me was the disney major patch, the drow ranger marksmanship can one shot any creeps including neutral creeps, the most contested hero that time. the level 6 drow will leave the lane and the 5 minutes later she got manta dragon lance and one component of aghanims
same, was the first patch I really remember because I was finally understanding what a meta was and why some picks were just better than others. troll sniper jugg running around with 30% move speed buff mask of madness is a thing of nightmares
I also missed that Sven Helm of Dominator lifesteal build back in the days too. When the ancient creeps are still near the mid tower at radiant. You rush helm then stack neuts by yourself when you farm that youll have fast SnY basically outfarming enemy carry, got lots of mmr with that strat. 🤣
I played jugg back then and build also domi. The thing will later become satanic, so it never a dead item. Converting creep and pinging every :52 to stack ancients. My stack count was very high back then when it was still showed in your profile
yea after that HoD change I stopped playing Sven. I had like 70+% WR at that time just stacking ancients and suddenly getting so much farm doing the stacks. But then they nerfed neutral creep gold and exp at some point as well and removed the lifesteal from domi :(
I remember the patch where huskar was pretty much unkillable if you just bought evasion as it stacked. Felt dirty but at the same time it felt so good.
holy crap I forgot about that. each of druids talents had an option to buff him or the bear and the ones for him literally made him sniper. that brings back some trauma since i mostly play 3 and 4 so I never played it myself but played against it so much...
They forgot the patch where you can equip multiple neutral items. You can literally comeback by just farming neutrals and equipping 4-5 of those items on your huskar
Ok to any player fortunately enough to not play during the comeback patch be happy. Especially actual kids. I was in college and I had sometimes maybe am hour and every damn game we would try to play the game and then the comeback would happen. Aaargh.... I remember more rage dcs than actual thrown and there were many many throws. My mom used to scream through the door cause we were both in our bases playing hotpockets w8ing for the others to die either by running up our hg or by natural causes. I think that's the point where I picked up supporting cause I realized in lower brackets having a support at that crucial timing had real value. For like 2 r 3 games. I lost those games too cause sure it was early value but no damn way in hell could we do anything. Abondon and u loose even if ur team wins. And well dcs made the hg even worse. I remeber thinking I was a good carry at that point before starting to support just cause I was able to use the rubberband by farming for almost 25 mins. Now it seems like a long lost nightmare. Miserable dota in what was otherwise a cherisable college life.......
That patch literally made me quit dota as a regular player. I now come back every patch, play for about a month and just quite again. God I fucking hated it, it was so fucking demoralizing.
I remember the time when ward cliffs was still near nuetrals and you play mirana jungle lvl 1 leaping at that cliff farming freely. Even a hero like furion, medusa or any ranged hero as long as you do the ironwood branch trick. And By the time you show at the map you already got a big item and big level hahahahaha
God I loved the patch where you just fought over picking Lesh, Lina, Gyro, and WW. Played in an 80% winrate 5 stack a little while back then. Didn't really have the motivation to keep up with them and there were some awkward things, but that patch was fun. God I miss pre 7.00 dota.
Remember when as a solo off lane Beast master you could farm the Dire Ancients from your tower. Just stacking and farming them with your Axes. That was my peak with Beast 🤣
also abyssal on sniper in dota 1, when abyssal gave 100 damage. It was so broken, sniper owned carries purely based on damage as his attack speed gain per level was pretty good as well. No need to buy bkb on sniper, go full damage and satanic (dominator gave 20 damage and formed into satanic later, broken as well).
Gosh I miss the overhaul patches. Yes, current approach is more new players friendly because they now have a chance to adapt to the game without being afraid that it suddenly changes beyond recognition (and I believe there's even statistics confirming that people leave the game when Valve releases big patches), but as an old player I really miss the feeling of the upcoming major shift, when everything changes so drastically it's basically a new game at this point.
The Leshrac patch was Arteezy's peak. He played like 200 Lesh games shamelessly on stream.
Shamelessly 😂
shamelessly 🤣🤣🤣
I miss his spamming Naga when she first got octarine core (shamelessly)
Shamelessly lmaoo
Yeah, but I was remembering Alch being even more busted back then: just farm rad manta octarine and in fight you are literally immortal.
Love Pyrion for these, he's the one that fits perfectly for this role. Love the series and want even more content!!
I love Bulba's way of seeing the patches. It's true that despite some heroes being meta and such, they can still be beaten.
Also, surprised the OD-Omni patch wasn't mentioned. That one is stuck in my brain until now when those two are picked literally every single game.
Sounds more like it clearly shows his stubbornness which seems to keep costing EG in T.I.
Or Huskar-Dazzle. Huskar back then really broken
I remember the broken OD😂😂
6.86 OD + Omni monkaGiga
Bro u forgot about arc warden's tempest double can carry divine rapier back in 6.86 people we're literally begging osfrog to nerf it
We need a 'remember when' with the map environments. The map has changed to being more open these days where as before the map was full of condensed corridors made of cliff and trees. This needs investigated please P Flax
There’s already one on the map changes I believe
Last year boy
@@BigChiefSkep let me rephrase: one that isn't shit
we realy need a big map change
I was searching for it too. The only one available is just the map additions, not map changes like the jungle spawns, path size etc
What an outstanding perfomance by mr PyrionFlax. Hats off to you sir
Glad these returned! As a newer lad, the history of Dota 2 is ever-interesting.

Necro disable buyback is the most iconic patch ever
I think Necro already have that ability since WC3 mod
production, script and story telling is amazing on this one, please more of this stuff
I caught myself smiling during the whole. All these things are so nostalgic i love it! I’m loving this video series!
bulba the patch god!
The great MMR assassin
Surprised he didn't mention when he and s4 were spamming ET mid max aura build
Remember the reduce death timer talents?
I member. Get Lina. Go bloodstone and travel. Get back into the fight within 5 sec even if you got popped at the beginning of the fight. Fun times.

We were doing it in SEA since dota 1
5 mins b.o.t then farm the jungle to whole game using march
Funny enough, when I first started playing Tinker maxing March of Machines was the optimal tinker build and I was completely oblivious to it, I kept maxing Laser and Rocket every single game.
merlini pioneered it on dota1
I love Bulba's enthusiasm about these broken patches, but he and his team definitely tunnel visioned in the main stage this TI straight to the airport.
They just left early to beat the rush hour traffic
Yeah, but always pick storm draft in every turney match. Hahahaha
Like how they tunnel vision with the Storm pick. Balance in all things
the yin yang part of ceb. classic tunneling. his patch still on garena these days.
oof
rtz: "i don't care, i just go farm" HE ALWAYS DOES THIS LOL
Pflax at TI is the eye of stability in the hurricane of the world's woes.
Always loved these series!
Patch anticipation gives me cold sweats, cramps, nausea, and anxiety... I sicken myself too Mr. Flax
My absolutely favorite Announcer! Love you PyrionFlax
This was hilarious, love TI content!
Always great to see these
Stellar episode, he's still got it
Brilliant. Thank you Pyrionflax, et all.
The oldest patch i remember is troll with perma bash. The patch i miss is abyssal mini blink.
abyssal getting a blink was the worst when you're a supp. ursa rush abyssal and you just die instantly without the ability to do anything
Nah bro the instant abyssal blink is one of the very few things Am has going for him.
those poor puck players never stood a fucking chance against an AM with abyssal blink
@@arazakdistrict6711 Thanks to SF spammers using Abyssal to one shot requiem

We don’t even speak of the Shanghai major , OD arc warden rapier meta. Invoked was so good, w33 carried eternal envy to win that tournament xp
man I had so many good and bad memories with the troll and sniper patch, loved that patch
same, was the first patch I really remember because I was finally understanding what a meta was and why some picks were just better than others. troll sniper jugg running around with 30% move speed buff mask of madness is a thing of nightmares

Sven with HOD picker here, loved that patch.
That's quite busted, within just 30 mins and you almost filled your item slots, good old days
I got like 85% winrate with luna using that strat, i miss that hod
yea after that HoD change I stopped playing Sven. I had like 70+% WR at that time just stacking ancients and suddenly getting so much farm doing the stacks. But then they nerfed neutral creep gold and exp at some point as well and removed the lifesteal from domi :(
This is what makes dota interesting
😂 the bulba takes are too much ❤

we cant talk about patch without purge 10 hours patch analysis. its 1 of the best thing about patches
Best one yet!
The good old spin to win meta was the best
Love this History of dota, make me remember good times thanks 👍
Absolutely love this
I loved the lone druid sniper patch. Was fun playing it.
holy crap I forgot about that. each of druids talents had an option to buff him or the bear and the ones for him literally made him sniper. that brings back some trauma since i mostly play 3 and 4 so I never played it myself but played against it so much...

I hope this game never dies
There is so many broken thing in dota every patch, and we love it
They forgot the patch where you can equip multiple neutral items. You can literally comeback by just farming neutrals and equipping 4-5 of those items on your huskar
I really miss Tinker March ancient farm patch.
Very fun and competitive.
You are never resting even in 3k brackets with those picks.
Xinq sleeping while being interviewed
haha even though bulba gets memed, it's funny to see him enjoy every single patch that many felt were annoying! true pma master haha
Honestly it's a nice change of pace from all the people always trying to look at the faults of every patch lol

Fountain hook patch is legend
Bulba is such an opportunist!
I fucking love pflax in these
Bulba does really love dota

Remember old Sniper in dota 1? When headshot skill was mini-stun and you buy mkb which was also mini-stun.
also abyssal on sniper in dota 1, when abyssal gave 100 damage. It was so broken, sniper owned carries purely based on damage as his attack speed gain per level was pretty good as well.
