Mac is right on this, Jimmy can be the best player for a championship team, he just needed a consistent secondary scorer to releive some of the offensive load.
I think Embiid and Jimmy regret giving up on that combo so soon and both are probably going to realize that giving that 2 or 3 years to gel, might have been both of their best shot at a chip.

Can he be the best offensive player on a championship team? That's a slightly different question. He needs to have another player that is as good as he is or better offensively. Does that make that other player automatically better than him; no. He needs star level offensive help.

A healthy Oladipo with the chance to go into training camp and get some chemistry with the team is that player that T Mac is talking about. He won't get 25 a night, but he could go out there to score, make plays for others, and take some of the pressure off of Jimmy.

It depends on how you define ‘best player’. He could be the best player but can’t be the *best scorer* as it’s just not in his nature to be that prolific scorer. He CAN step up and do it like he did in the bubble, but it’s not natural for him to average 28+ a night. If we had Butler doing his thing with someone like LaVine getting those big numbers then maybe it’s possible. As Shaq often says, you need that 1-2 punch but ours is currently Butler when he wants to and Herro off the bench. If Butler is getting 20-22 we need someone hitting 28-33
