Magic sealed, booster box and fat pack of each set since Zendikar(OG). Collected a few cases of each set with lottery cards and same for masters sets. SDCC and FTV sealed sets as well.
Over the past 3 years I've been buying a lot of sealed product. Mostly mtg but have been branching into pokemon and even got lucky and picked up 4 boxes of FaB wtr 1st edition for 300$ when they were new. Mtg collector boxes have been the main focus
Been buying a bunch of sealed product for the last number of years. Would have done a lot better if I had more discipline earlier with keeping things sealed. Now just get really tempted if arbitrage and replacement is possible.
I never intended to collect mtg booster boxes originally and just bought different sets here and there for draft and nostalgia. Then some virus came across and I bought more boxes than we could use for playing and so it all started growing and I got stuck with the whole thing :D especially with the free tendies for everyone during fall of 2020 to spring 2021. But I never bought anything I wouldn't be happy to draft or play with, so if the investment goes bad for any reason I can still enjoy the product. As Flesh and Blood is most enjoyable to me nowadays, I shifted to buying FaB boxes instead of MtG. It's definitely more risky, but it is what I enjoy, so there we go :)
Had bought a box of Modern Masters(2013) from ebay, seller shipped it in a bubble wrap envelope, the large one. Was completely destroyed as a collectible, got a fun draft out of it and some money back so wasn't a total loss. So pro tip, don't ship sealed in an envelope:)
The Non-Convention Mystery booster boxes spiked really fast, given they are only three years old. Bought mine for 'bout 85€ and they are sitting at 190€ over here. And of course all the old boxes up to OG Innistrad went up like crazy during the 2020/2021 boom, which was no regular appearance of course.
A year after this video was released, Jump Start is now down to roughly 75-80$ US per box. Madness!!! I bought a case around the same time this video was released, and paid about 100 a box. Can you imagine the people who bought the cases for 200 a box now? Massive ouch. I still have 5 of the boxes sealed (gave one away as a gift) and have NO REGRETS. Worst case, Jump Start's still one of the best ways to teach the game to a new player. They can even keep the decks! Awesome.
It's crazy how much they kept pumping that product out - I don't think it would happen even a year later, the schedule is just too full. Time will tell!
@@MTGNorth thanks man! I recently (2019) started investing in MTG. Love these kind of videos, keep it up my friend! I will be back to view more. Cheers!
Because when a box goes up in price say it moves 10 dollars. That’s not a great profit. Now if you had a case you just made 60 dollars. Just to maximize your profits. However you can do as your choose if budget only permits one box then that’s what you do. We ourselves like cases
@@morganthemoustache3188 the problem for me is that with around 8 sets being released each year and more than 3 products being released for each set, it's impossible to know which set and which product within that set will perform the best. If you can afford to buy a case in each set ($6-8k a year) then you'd have to buy a case of each product ($18-$24k). Or you can just pick a product or pick a set to buy a case in. But then you're not diversifying as much as I'm comfortable doing. Not to mention staying on top of RL purchases
Do you guys invest in sealed product from any TCG game? How much and what? Or do you cave in and crack the box after three weeks like Morgan?

Next segment do other sealed products (commander decks, secret lairs, etc). I'm interested in hearing your opinion on those.
Noted!

Thanks for the tips
Your welcome
I don’t think I can handle sealed investments. I would be so tempted to break the box!
Yeah it can be tough, gotta keep them out of site! (or off site lol)
Great video! Love the info

The market site used in the video is mtgstocks.com
A PhD from the Tolarian Academy :)
Why is it important to buy a case vs just a single booster box or two?
