I will buy this game soon via its cool collectors edition which also as an acrylic book that stores both Dragon Quest III HD 2D and Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D, which is my main reason I want the collector's edition. And Davidinc, because its releasing 2025, do you think Dragon Quest I&II HD 2D will get Switch 2 ports/versions as well? Because I think that would be amazing to have them with improved and exclusive features for that console. And if you own the Switch version, you could get a free or paid upgrade to the Switch 2 version. I think releasing this version will help with the transition to a new generation. And I have a feeling that Hundred Line will also get a Switch 2 version.
Full voice acting sounds good because the voice acting in Dragon quest games are always so good now I hope they work on the Zenithian trilogy in this style
@@CeliriaRose That's fine to just have important parts voiced and actually the way most games with voice acting are in my experience. I think it will add a lot of flavor and make the characters seem more real which is something that a game from the 8 bit era would benefit from.
Voice acting is nice, I just realised that after playing Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. While playing those Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters I didn´t realy give voice acting thought. But if the developer has the time and money, voice acting is nice. Games like Octopath Traveler II and Live A Live had great voice acting too, gives the characters some added personality.
I used to read those in the car on the way home after getting a game as a kid (this was SNES and PS1 era). It was a 30 minute drive home from the nearest mall, and was such a great experience immersing myself into the world of a game I was hyped about. Some real fond memories of those manuals...
I still have my bradygames guidebook for dq8. Loved reading that as a kid. I'd going through the item lists in awe of how powerful I might become if I could get a certain weapon or spell.
Great video as always. I love the DQ music. I got DQ heroes and just smiled listening to the old music. My son was watching the reveal and after they finished showing DQ3 and the theme's started he jumped up "I know that song! Dad, dad I know this!" He's 11 and just hearing the music got him jumping with excitement. I can't wait for this to come out. DQ deserves to get a bigger audience here in the west.
This is hands down my most anticipated game of this year. Never played the GBC version DQ3 so this will be a fresh experience for me (always wanted to when I was a kid but had Dragon Warriors Monsters for the GBC which was the game that got me into the DQ series)
One of the details I like is that when characters walk left to right, what they are holding is in the correct hand instead of just taking the same visual and mirror flipping it.
Oh, I always loved that feature. It's been a staple of DQ since the first NES game. I perfectly understand saving cartridge space and time by having ambidextrous sprites, but it was always cool that they went out of their way to do that. It also helped a surprising amount with navigation. It's a shame they didn't keep it for 11's 2d mode...
This is also my favorite NES game and one of my favorite GBC games, so, yes. I'm SUPER excited for this!! My galpals on my Discord want to play the game together, where on each of our files we're the hero, but the other three join us as companions. And we'll share screenshots of our AUs, trying to do all the story events together. It's gonna be super special awesome!!
Important thing for me is whether Roto’s appearance can change with his equipment. Would be great to see him decked out in the Armour of Light, Shield of the Hero and wielding the Sword of Kings.
I was looking forward to this remake but I'll have to wait for a sale. $60 seems a bit much for an HD-2D remake but they know the big fans will pay it.
I love love love dragon quest !! Ever since that Christmas in the late 80’s when I saw that yellow box that was opened because my dad already beat the game before Christmas Day!!!! How rude lol ❤❤❤
This’ll be my first dive into Dragon Quest 3 so I’m ecstatic for it!! I’m also really excited that you’re getting closer to 100k subs, you deserve it 🥰
So excited for this! I will be playing this title for the first time, only having played 8, 9 and 11 in the past. Thanks for your coverage on it, I’ve been checking back in on the channel every day.
Wow I did not now they are implementing full voice acting! What a nice surprise and it makes me even more excited to experience this game again!! And it will be fun to try out the new beast master class! November feels so far away! Thanks again for the informative video David!
Holy moly!!! I can't believe they transformed the old NES game this much, with so many new features! This looks amazing. I never expected voice acting of all things. Seems like they really went all out on this. If they're going to remake the series in story-chronological order, I really wonder how the remake of the original Dragon Quest will turn out. That was the most basic of the basics, barely even a worthwhile game by today's standards. I mean, I loved it at the time, when I was in elementary school and it was my first real JRPG experience. But I struggle to imagine how even the most lavish and decorated remake of that game could justify its existence today. Especially after this DQ3 remake.
I'm cautiously optimistic. The game looks gorgeous, but it does look to me like they're dumbing it down a fair bit for modern audiences, given that and all the other new additions, I feel like I should approach this one like a fresh take on the game as opposed to a 'replacement' of sorts for the old versions... But ngl, though DQ3 is my favourite RPG, I'm honestly looking forward more to the DQ1+2 Remakes, cuz like, the GBC version of DQ3 was already nearly perfect, just 8 bit, and I feel like a new translation and a few minor tweaks to the SNES version would have made that into the definitive version, but DQ1 and especially 2 I feel have a lot more room for improvement than DQ3 did, like for example, being able to choose where to fast-travel to, the rest of the towns in Alefgard being added back into DQ2 (I was always disappointed that it was only Tantegel and the Dragonlord's castle), animated enemies during battles, the remember spell, the bag, and well, just better balancing in general...
god i cant wait for this. Ive got 5 Dragon Quest Platinum trophies already for 11, the two heroes and 2 builders games, cant wait to hunt for the Platinums for the Erdrick trilogy.
I just played this game for the first time last summer (after watching David's Dragon Quest tier list video,) and fell in love with it! It's my favorite Dragon Quest and I'm SO excited for this game now!!
I don’t know why I waited until now to subscribe to you, David. You put out great content. I played DQ3 for the first time last year. The super Famicom version. I get why it’s believed. This and DQ4 are my favorite and hold it today. I think they should be regarded on the same level as FF6 and 7.
Love from Belgium 🇧🇪♥️ not so long before I knew your channel, I bought Dragon Quest 1, 2 and 3 on Switch and I played them this year. Unfortunately, I won’t repay a full price for the 3 and 1 and 2 comings, I’ll save my money for Visions of mana and other games (on the good side, I really liked the 3 games, even if it’s the old versions)
This game just became my most anticipated game of 2024. Cause since the announcement in 2021, I was worried they wouldn't be able to produce this game due to constant delays and all that. Wishing and hoping the game will come out. When the release date surfaced, you know I was gone. I was crying and just went nuts. This is the game I just cannot WAIT to purchase on day one and when I take a break from playing it, I'll just put the game down and listen to the DQ 3 music to relax.
I really hope this puts people on to how great this game is. It's perfectly balanced. The progression is perfect. The story isn't a 20 hr indie game but also isn't 120 hrs. Its not complex but not simple either. The class combinations made this so replayable and I cannot wait to see what else they've cooked up for this remake
Your pronunciation of the starting town caught me so off-guard I had to look it up, and found out I'd been saying it wrong the entire time! Turns out having mild dyslexia and enjoying RPGs isn't exactly a great combination. This is also the first time I'm hearing of the addition of voice acting, which I'm also just now realizing is an incredibly helpful change! I am so Hype for this game you wouldn't believe it. It happened so early in the direct and nothing else in it even came close to giving me that level of excitement. But the specific reason for my excitement seems pretty niche ^^;
And speaking of DQ 1 + 2. 2 Specific! I hope they FURTHER improved on the fixes that was done on the Prince of Cannock (The Green Prince) in the Android/iOS version where his Max Stats were improved ALOT that he wasn't "the Load" and actually was a useful "inbetween" his cousins (He can cast magic to support, allowing the Princess to focus on other things, and having at least a second attacker meant he could usually finish off anything the Prince of Midenhall/Blue Prince didn't finish off or just need another "tap" to do so) frankly maybe change his spells slightly or whatever! I think the Android version of him was decent! Never knew EVEN in the old GBC version why he was hated so much! He sure as hell was USEFUL as a heal slave till the Princess came in and frankly THREE is better then TWO in a game that DOESN'T have shared inventory
Thanks for collecting all the info, David! I'm happy there will be a way to get the elevating shoes at the beginning of the journey, but it kind of rubs me the wrong way that it isn't a feature baked into the standard game. Still, all the other aspects should make this a supernal way to experience DQ3! Really happy about the church save points too. :>
Such a huge fan of this series and probably would call it my favorite if it wasn't for FF6 and Chrono Trigger. Each one is such a good classic RPG experience. I remember playing the SNES translated version of this game back in the day and was such a great game. Can't wait to pick this up, I'm so freaking stoked. This'll be just enough to tide me over until XII comes out!
Very excited for these remakes! Really hope we see them do the same for the Zenithian trilogy and especially for DQ V! It’s a crime that IV, V and VI are stuck on DS still.
I am so stoked for this trilogy to be out over the next year(s). I would love to get the collectors edition, but that isn't in the cards due to the crazy price. But it has some really cool things in it for sure, I have played up to 3. But for some reason, I have never played 4. They look like they have the charm of the original games for me! Its great to be excited to play something again, and it's not far away.
DQ3 Is a prequel to 1&2 so story wise, it's probably better to start with 3, you wont be missing out on anything is what i mean if you play them in 3-1-2. Even Hori stated it in the Nintendo direct. It's the beginning of the whole series. And it's so good! Finished the Snes version and it's added content. I thought it was pretty challenging as well, just the right amount for my taste. I hope it stays that way. Assume you haven't already played them ofc :)
@@danielpintogouveia5862 Might just be meaning they don't want to wait too long between playing 3 and then 1/2. Just getting it closer to the others lets him go through all three at once.
My oldest brother has all those old maps and monster data foldouts which are in plastic and still in mostly good shape. Will be happiest as long as Pachisi is back for the game. Might need to push myself to finish DQ7 and 8 on 3DS before Nov though i doubt it w/ all the other games to keep me distracted.
Can’t wait for this! I’m playing Octopath Traveler 2 on gamepass right now, and it’s so so good! Voice acting, storytelling, combat system, treasure, music, and environments are all top tier. Definitely will have me yearning for more hd2d when I’m done.
I hope you dont put same expectations from OP2 into DQ 3 remake, considering the combat system in OP2 has more depth than DQ3 games(i am saying this as fan of both series)
I hope they don't stop at 1,2 and 3. 4, 5, and 6 would be awesome. Plus, it would be a good way for Team Asano to keep making things while they develop more ideas for Octopath or Triangle Strategy, or anything else
I am soo excited for this, it's been my most anticipated game since I first saw it all that time ago. I cannot wait to get my hands on it in November!!!!
I suspect Beastmaster will let you "Blue Mage" some monster attacks, or "capture" a monster to use it as a one-time use. I do hope it will let you have them as a 5th teammate. Would be pretty sweet for a Boss fight.
Personally I'm glad we have a clear canon name for this Hero, he had been called Arus before, but it was never confirmed it being his canon name, at least I think it never. We'll have to see if it's the same for the Hero in Dragon Quest I, him being Alef as a nod to Alefguard, and the Hero of Dragon Quest II being called Allen.
JRPGs are putting a serious hurting on my wallet this year...I hadn't given much thought to the Dragon Quest series, but seeing your passion for it does make me wanna play.
I already have the original NES carts and the Asian trilogy of DQ1, 2, and 3 for switch but I’ll buy this too when it comes out because I’ve always been a fan of Dragon Quest.
I ended up getting the Lucky(Elevating) shoes on one of my many play throughs of Dragon Warrior 3. I was so excited...until I realized that getting ONE xp per step wasn't very good when you needed 50k+ to level lol. They'll be a friggin' massive help at the beginning of the game though. Pre-order is a must!
Not really at 1 exp per step their WORTHLESS as soon as the party gains even 1 LV up by the time I got them IN the 3DS remake of DQ7 I had all 5 PERMANENT party members at lv 99 making them even more WORTHLESS. Besides if this remakes EASY mode = a 4x EXP rate then 1 exp PER step is even useless AT LV 1.
Damn, Square Enix always goes hard with the remakes these days, especially the HD-2D ones. Really like this company right now. It'd make Sugiyama & Toriyama proud.
For future Dragon Quest games after XII, Yuzo Koshiro will replace Koichi Sugiyama while Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru will replace Akira Toriyama. The soundtracks will be synthesized during development as a placeholder, but upon the game’s release, they’ll be replaced with symphonic versions, rendered by the Tokyo Metropolitan Orchestra.
Games looks good so far and since I've never played a Dragon Quest before 8 I'm excited to get into it. I always wanted to do it, but it always kinda scared me because even I grew up with the Gameboy and Snes I've gotten used to the luxuries of modern aka pointers where to go to, an easily accessible map that tells you where you and stuff like that and the old games didn't always have this. One thing that feels a little weird though is that basically every "retro" rpg that has come out in recent times looks like Octopath Traveler. Not that this is necessarily bad, but as some other games have adapter the over the shoulder perspective from games like RE4 this feels a little ... I don't know, maybe lazy in a "play it safe" kind of way? I don't mean for it to sound so negative, but I can't come up with a better word off the top of my head.
I think they will link the Monster Master class into some Monster Medal collecting sidequest. Hell, maybe they even make another Monter Town for us to fill up!
DQ5 is my fav, but the Super Famicom version of DQ3 is a masterpiece! It will be hard to top, but I’m ready! Man, which party will I choose this play through!?!? Definitely going hard mode!
The kicker for me was that they were doing DQ 1&2. I've been patient for this DQ 3 remake that I'm not even mad anymore about the wait. And the way they're releasing it, 3 first and then 1 & 2 is chronologically amazing. I've been playing the GBC versions of all 3 just to get a fix, I even bought the digital switch versions. And I'll gladly pay for these remakes.
Ikr? I've only ever beaten the original and DQM: The Dark Prince, though I started the 2nd, 8th, 9th, and 11th, but various things lead to me not finishing them. So I'm super excited for 3, but also being able to play 1 again, and getting another shot at 2.
Hopefully they add abit more to Vocations! Such as Thief's getting ALOT of the stuff that's been added to that vocation and character's representing their vocation (like Erik from DQ XI) or Merchants getting ALOT more then just giving you more money and access to a shop!. Seeing how I heard about MP on Soldier! I'm thinking abilities seen on those vocations and their representees (I say that as character's in DQ games that had abilities/spells normally apart of that class and in the DQ that DON'T let you change Vocations! Like Jessica from DQ7 being the Mage! And everyone in DQ XI) I'm guessing alot of their abilities will be making them the more "Mighty Glacier" (Hits hard and takes hits, but slow as FUCK) to the Fighter's/Martial Artists "Lightning Bruisher (Speed and Attack but crap Defense). I do feel the Sage should remain GREAT as what's the point of getting one! But I think there should be abit of Nerfing in the RIGHT WAY to not have them FULLY eclipse the Mage & Pilgrim/Priest, I mean their essentially the Hero Class with BETTER MP in exchange for not being a damage dealer outside their spells (Hero has LESS MP and is a BACKUP at best, but they are essentially Warrior-Soldier/Fighter-Martial Artists/Mage/Priest combine as they ARE the party leader and can't be changed, it makes sense) Hope Magical Mending & Power are implimented, Mages start falling off because damage was SET hence why my Mage became the Sage when I got the Book to still be useful! But adding Magic as a stat that influence magic while keeping the Set damage as "The bare MININIUM" before the stat is calculated was a good move! Yes Mage's are great at Crowd Control, but as said, the low damage can make it hard to justify keeping them sometimes long term compared to Priest who CAN keep up the Healing. I hope they don't make things EASY (Hope they give you the ability to ADD challenging difficulty like in DQ XI! DQ 3 made it ASSURED I rarely GRIND because I just stopped RUNNING from battles do to the low ESCAPE rate discouraging young me to run, so I brute force forward and only BOSSES served as a challenge to me! I liked the Custom Difficulty that was Draconian Quest that let me ADD challenges. Refused Luminary goes down instant party wipe as I get enough of that in Megaten/Persona series thank you very MUCH! But some of the other ones like no XP from weaker monsters gave me the feel of DQ 3 GBC as I got discouraged from grinding due to lower yields of XP, brought on by all the FORCED battles due to random battle. Just the options are nice!) I also suspect it will be made EASIER to know where the fuck you're going! I DID have to get a guide once I got the ship to know where Baramos Castle was as I was SO lost (Ended up fighting Orochi WAY lower level then I SHOULD have been and WON with no deaths strangely! I was surprised when I read the guide and found out I was WAY underlevel and won via LUCK LOL) And hopefully they can explain something about Ortega that I'll say this! Once you start the Zoma arc of the game! I was kind of CONFUSED. Speaking of Ortega, can't WAIT to see what they do with that "Intro movie" (you know the one, where he was fighting the Dragon on the Volcano!) Just like back in the GBC days (DQ III was my FIRST introduction to RPG before FF7 made me REALIZE what the term was and made me look deeper!) I'm playing Female Hero (I mostly play FEMALES when given the chance because back then there WERE alot of MALE hero's so the choice to be Female wasn't something I'd miss! I don't care much about that "Representation" crap! I just got bored with always playing a Guy LOL! Which is why that shit annoys me), Thief, Merchant and Priest! I did beat the game with my INVINCIBLE party of Fighter/Mage-Sage/Priest first time around! So all these years, I want to give those two a try and MAYBE I might switch Priest out for that NEW class I was hearing about!
Can’t wait for this. Drives me a bit crazy that the switch version runs 30fps. I know in a turn based rpg that doesn’t matter much but still 60 looks so much better. Guess it’s the steam version for me and I’ll get a steam deck on day so that it’s portable.
Good God this year and last year was just a year of some of my favorite games! All I can say is I am already planning on when in November I am taking off work!
Interesting on that beast master class. I'm guessing it will let you use monsters in combat. I hope that the monster medals come back but who knows. Some of the definitive versions of older games remove some upgrades from older ones for the lulz.
I still wonder if this version will expand to 8 party members 4 main, 4 reserve. I could see not to maintain the feel, but I also could see them doing it to help adjust the difficulty for modern audiences.
I just use 1 goof off to create 1 sage, then train a pilgrim and wizard till all spells are learned then switch to the opposite classes. After that, I make 1 a thief and another a merchant.
The Collector's Edition is super weak! I am passing on it for sure. Some digital items and plastic isnt worth $200 for me but everyone enjoy. Maybe the Ring of Strength will actually do something this time.❤ Can't wait to play this again without the extra puff puffs.
and the Free Elevating boots are still worthless 1 EXP PER step you take means that even the MONSTERS on the world map at the START of the game after the ENTIRE party hits lv 2 makes those boots completely useless.
@@veghesther3204 I mean, it still helps at least a little. Even if you grind monsters for levels, you're constantly taking steps and getting more XP between each fight, as opposed to not getting any.
Yes but after like lv 30 or so you'll still NEED OVER 20,000 exp a pop your better off just still killing the weakest metal slimes so yes at 1 exp per step its still useless ESPECIALLY since the effect doesn't APPLY TO ALL 4 party members at once.
@@Merciless_Zero ya the dlc is kinda not worth it as they are in game items regardless i still preordered it on steam so i would have the money taken out of my account asap and it is nice to have the extra seeds.
Having never played DQ III before, (didn't start the series til DQ8 on PS2) man am I excited! I know this is the entry that founded the job system, too! Now for the hardest question: PS5 for the Trophies, or Switch for the portability (and best controller)
i played dragon quest 1 back in the day and watched my brother win it or almost win it its bean so long that i don't remember exactly.i am super existed to play dragon quest 3 HD 2D remake and will be buying it day 1. some people say 60 drollers is too much for a game like this but i say look at the work it takes to make a game like this the 60 dollars is reasonable in my opinion. i have never played dragon quest 3 so i am super exited to play it wene the game comes out in November it is on my steam wish list.
I'm wondering, with as much emphasis they've placed on playing the trilogy in this new order, if they don't have surprises planned for the 1 & 2 collection. Considering how short 1 & 2 can be, unless they've packed each with new stuff, maaaaybe we could get some kind of epic new never before seen epilogue.
I hope we get info on Beastmaster to know how to party build. Have figure out their primary stats, and if we want to class change into one or start with one. (Man, I wish they'd let me have more than 4 party members!)
I am looking forward to playing this game in November, maybe during the Summer break alongside some summer releases that I have not yet purchased. This is now on my list of one of my most wanted games of 2024 alongside the SMT release, Tsukihime, and the Pawapuro 2024-2025. I usually don't buy collector's editions, but for this one I will because of the game storage box that stores dragon quest III and dragon quest I and II. I love those kinds of things in collector's editions and Dragon Quest I and II are one of my anticipated games of 2025 for Nintendo systems alongside the newly announced Hundred Line and Phantom Brave sequel, as well as the rumored Switch 2 ports of Metaphor Refantozio, Persona 3 Reload, and Visions of Mana as well. Oh man, those three games alone make me want to be the Switch 2, despite not being exclusives to those consoles. Plus, I have a feeling that Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D remake will also be announced for the Switch 2 as well, given the fact it will be releasing the same year as the Switch 2. If that does happen, then I would rather buy that version instead. If the rumored Switch 2 ports do release, if I & II also get a Switch 2 version, and if the Switch 2 will be confirmed to have a 1080p OLED screen with 4k support by Nintendo (so far the specs of the console announced are only rumors, some even from unreliable sources, and don't assume they are true until stated otherwise,) I would definitely buy the Switch 2 in a heartbeat and would be one of the best years of my life and of the Switch 2. And I also have a feeling that the Phantom Brave sequel will also have a Switch 2 version. Reason they don't mention is because Nintendo hasn't officially unveiled it yet. But it is as likely as I & II to get one. It looks like I have save up and earn as much money as possible this year and I will whatever it takes to do so as I only have enough money to buy 2 games. Also, Davidinc, I know its kind of late and June is almost over, but happy pride month! I'm glad you stayed to your true self and not let people preventing you from being what you want to be. You deserve as much respect as those who are not LGBTQ. You are the best JRPG content creator ever, gay or not. Again, happy pride month!
My main issue with older RPGs, especially DQ games, is that I would tend to have no idea where to go or what to do next at too many points in the games. So the pop up map provides some guidance about how to move the story along? If so, that would be wonderful.
Really?! The point of most RPGs, especially the older ones, is to talk to everyone, and most of them will tell you what you need to know. You don’t just go into towns to rest, buy armor, weapons, and stuff, but also to gather information. That’s how the first DQ game was made, you talk to people. Even the guide books, the DQ guide books especially, from those old days suggested you talk to everyone.
@@whitewolf3051 no. There's a reason why modern RPGs aren't like that anymore. Not everyone enjoys it and it isn't necessary for it to be an RPG. I loved SMT 4 and there was some of that, but not too the terrible (IMO) degree that you see it in earlier DQ games where it was so cryptic and obscure. If you enjoy it, cool. But maybe try to understand why not everyone does. The point of what I wrote was to get info rather than be shamed for having the wrong taste. Do you know the answer to my question? If not, I'm not interested in justifying my taste.
Agree, Never liked when they started CHARING that much just to get shit they use to be nice enough to give for FUCKING FREE! Worse is most of the quality doesn't justify the price tag either! Frankly the only way I'm using THAT amount of money is if I'm buying a Console or PC/Laptop! Not a SINGLE video game! It's been what a decade now since they started doing this! I forgot but I know whatever they started, I always found myself telling the persona at gamestop when I pre-order "No I like the STANDARD version please" (If I STILL pre-order that is! Last game I pre-ordered was Unicorn Overlord and that was the last game I did it for since Fire Emblem Engage! I noticed for awhile Gamestop was FUNNY with how games that came out a week or two or even a month ended up getting a Sale for HALF the price! So I was like "Why am I paying FULL Price on Day 1 when I can pay HALF for that! I only full price pay on games I TRULY want to support! Like Fire Emblem And Unicorn Overlord because of vanillaware!)

Is the strategy guide u mentioned better then the gba one cause the gba guide was awesome
It’s not full voice acting. It’s partial voice acting. Certain key story characters and side characters will be voiced while most NPCs will not.
Zenithian is 4-6 I'd also like see a 7-9 and the offline version of 10
@@CeliriaRose That's fine to just have important parts voiced and actually the way most games with voice acting are in my experience.
It's not fully voiced, only important story dialogue.
The fact that you refer to it as a "Metal Babble" and "Book of Satori" establishes your NES cred. 😀
Anyone else miss instruction manuals, not the low effort ones we got during the 360/PS3 era but old school ones that had cool artwork inside.
I used to read those in the car on the way home after getting a game as a kid (this was SNES and PS1 era). It was a 30 minute drive home from the nearest mall, and was such a great experience immersing myself into the world of a game I was hyped about. Some real fond memories of those manuals...
It got me so hyped by the time I got home and we didn’t have to download anything lol
I always appreciate when a dev actually puts in the effort to do that.
This 💯 always bugs me it's often flipped majority of the time. So basically all sprites are ambidextrous 😅
The only other thing I'd like to see is your companions having unique dialogue based on their personality. That'd be rad.
Let’s be real David; the REAL reason to Pre-Order the Collector’s Edition.. dat early Kitty Suit BAAAYBEEEEE!!!
November can’t come soon enough. I wonder if we’ll have any additional content post game. I think we’ll get the monster medals for sure
Important thing for me is whether Roto’s appearance can change with his equipment. Would be great to see him decked out in the Armour of Light, Shield of the Hero and wielding the Sword of Kings.
I wish FInal Fantasy I-VI were remade in this style :/
So true
Lol, they probably will! How many times has the original or FF4 been re-released?
I am really happy that they brought back the Tokyo Metropolitan Orchestra! I missed it since DQ8 :D
They played the intro to 11.
I was looking forward to this remake but I'll have to wait for a sale. $60 seems a bit much for an HD-2D remake but they know the big fans will pay it.
yes the big fans will pay for dragon quest 3 becuse in our opinion it is worth the money.
You're wonderful, David!!!! Been subbed for about a year now. You can make it to 100k!!! 💪😍😊
Fingers crossed!
Thank you David, for the sharing and support. 🤩
I’m also really excited that you’re getting closer to 100k subs, you deserve it 🥰
as long as the change isn't censorship
Not only that but it also includes modern politics now.
@@Jenema2 what do you mean modern politics in the remake?
i do hope a mod comes out on where we can see the back sprite of our characters when attacking
So excited for this! I will be playing this title for the first time, only having played 8, 9 and 11 in the past. Thanks for your coverage on it, I’ve been checking back in on the channel every day.
Hope you enjoy it!
Oh man, I love collectors editions, and I absolutely adore Dragon Quest- but, I just wish this one had a bit more bang for its buck 😅 Great video man
I'm cautiously optimistic.
Hi David! Super excited to get HD2D versions of DQ 1,2,3. Played 8 and 11, but I am very much wanting to play the other DQ games. Have a blessed day!
god i cant wait for this.
David's shirt in the intro is so freaking cool!!
Better have my Pachisi boards and the bonus dungeons.
I don’t know why I waited until now to subscribe to you, David. You put out great content. I played DQ3 for the first time last year. The super Famicom version. I get why it’s believed. This and DQ4 are my favorite and hold it today. I think they should be regarded on the same level as FF6 and 7.
I was so happy when the trailer revealed I and II are also getting remade. Dragon Quest II is my favorite Dragon Quest game.
Man it’s a shame I don’t have the Manual and maps for DW3! I still have all that stuff for DW1 and 2 thankfully!
Your pronunciation of the starting town caught me so off-guard I had to look it up, and found out I'd been saying it wrong the entire time!
Turns out having mild dyslexia and enjoying RPGs isn't exactly a great combination.
This is also the first time I'm hearing of the addition of voice acting, which I'm also just now realizing is an incredibly helpful change!
I am so Hype for this game you wouldn't believe it. It happened so early in the direct and nothing else in it even came close to giving me that level of excitement. But the specific reason for my excitement seems pretty niche ^^;
The switch versions of the trilogy look like Dragon Quest but from Temu.
That being said I'm SO EXCITED FOR THIS GAME!
Imma get DQ 3 after the remakes of 1&2 release I do wanna get mainly to honour akria toriyama his art was always the best
@@danielpintogouveia5862 That's also why they're releasing it first.
@@danielpintogouveia5862 makes why it's getting released first
Leading the algorythmn gods here with my comment. May Rubiss and The Almighty make your channel flourish!
@@Zero_Tester one game is 35 years older than the other so I definitely am not doing that lol. The last sentence I wrote is the key part of that
I hope they don't stop at 1,2 and 3. 4, 5, and 6 would be awesome.
Plus, it would be a good way for Team Asano to keep making things while they develop more ideas for Octopath or Triangle Strategy, or anything else
OMG, looks like i'll be busy until thanksgiving lol, thanks for the updates David!
Been contemplating about playing the previous "remakes" on switch but i think now these are the must play versions i cannot wait!
Just pre ordered Dragon Quest 3, so excited
I am soo excited for this, it's been my most anticipated game since I first saw it all that time ago. I cannot wait to get my hands on it in November!!!!
Thank you for the good vibes videos, man.

I like how this game looks and I’m looking forward to it but I still preferred a remake in the style of DQ 11
I’ve never fucked with a Dragon Quest game, but this looks pretty crispy. I’m down to give it a shot.
Hope it will have all the extras. Never stop being David, David!
I like playing with 3 characters since xp is split based on how many characters you have. Theif is also really nice for avoiding random encounters
Damn, Square Enix always goes hard with the remakes these days, especially the HD-2D ones. Really like this company right now. It'd make Sugiyama & Toriyama proud.
DQ3 has my second favorite job system in a DQ game. Favorite of the job class games in the series, though.
A chrono trigger hd2d remake would be cool but square enix it seems
Hate money

Removing gender was a political move pure and simple, and it makes me extremely worried about the "expanded story content" in this remake.
Please, go into detail about your worries. I could use a good laugh.
Just a slight correction. Partial voice acting not full. Main story type characters and some side characters will be voiced but general NPCs will not.
that makes sense too me voice acting the story line elements and not npcs.
Now if this was DQ4, my favorite, I'd be trying my darndest to get the collector's edition!
Beastmaster may end like the Bravely Default 2 version. Capturing monsters to use for special attacks and the more beasts the higher stats gained.
@AzureKyle I haven't beaten DQ 11 myself. I know I'm close to the end though.
But I think there should be abit of Nerfing in the RIGHT WAY to not have them FULLY eclipse the Mage & Pilgrim/Priest, I mean their essentially the Hero Class with BETTER MP in exchange for not being a damage dealer outside their spells (Hero has LESS MP and is a BACKUP at best, but they are essentially Warrior-Soldier/Fighter-Martial Artists/Mage/Priest combine as they ARE the party leader and can't be changed, it makes sense)
Hope Magical Mending & Power are implimented, Mages start falling off because damage was SET hence why my Mage became the Sage when I got the Book to still be useful! Speaking of Ortega, can't WAIT to see what they do with that "Intro movie" (you know the one, where he was fighting the Dragon on the Volcano!)
Just like back in the GBC days (DQ III was my FIRST introduction to RPG before FF7 made me REALIZE what the term was and made me look deeper!) I'm playing Female Hero (I mostly play FEMALES when given the chance because back then there WERE alot of MALE hero's so the choice to be Female wasn't something I'd miss!
Hahaha! Nice!
I’m looking forward to this. Sadly won’t get legacy. 3 sages may be great but I prefer diversity. But it sounds cool.
Interesting on that beast master class. I'm guessing it will let you use monsters in combat. I hope that the monster medals come back but who knows. Some of the definitive versions of older games remove some upgrades from older ones for the lulz.
O-M-G !! major excitement for this ! I can't wait !!!
The thing I want to see the most is that the game includes more abilitites for non caster classes, like in later games.
I am super excited for this. Never played 1-3!
The Collector's Edition is super weak! I am passing on it for sure. Some digital items and plastic isnt worth $200 for me but everyone enjoy. Maybe the Ring of Strength will actually do something this time.❤ Can't wait to play this again without the extra puff puffs.
Dlc isn’t worth it either. These are all things you can find in game. And having an extra Sage usually isn’t neccesary either.
and the Free Elevating boots are still worthless 1 EXP PER step you take means that even the MONSTERS on the world map at the START of the game after the ENTIRE party hits lv 2 makes those boots completely useless.
I never played 3 so this is gonna be great! This year is like jrpg heaven. So many fantastic games
i played dragon quest 1 back in the day and watched my brother win it or almost win it its bean so long that i don't remember exactly.i am super existed to play dragon quest 3 HD 2D remake and will be buying it day 1. some people say 60 drollers is too much for a game like this but i say look at the work it takes to make a game like this the 60 dollars is reasonable in my opinion. i have never played dragon quest 3 so i am super exited to play it wene the game comes out in November it is on my steam wish list.
Just made a pre-order for the PS5 Collector's Edition 😊
I can't wait, I love Dragon Quest so much 😁
i pre ordered the game on steam. what i like is that digital games used to not take the money out of your account f or pre orders and now they do.
i want to pre order this on physical!!!! DQ games are one of my favorite jrpgs!!!
Thanks so much and happy pride to you too!!
@@davidvinc Thank you for so much as well, even though I'm not gay (or part of the LGBTQ at all) and I am straight, but thanks anyways.
$200 for the collector's edition is outrageous. I'll save my money and enjoy the standard edition.
Typical SE collectors edition pricing lol. They're always nuts
So excited for this. Love your videos, David!
Glad you like them!
Are the pre-order in game items limited to one save file, or can you use them for every new game you start?
I was a little upset that there is no 3rd Party view in battles but i guess they're doing a faithful remake for battles, which I'm fine with.
