I did the exact same thing with PVC pipes and caps and accessories for plumbing. You guys have an awesome and amazing garage gym setup. WOW! I love the organization of your garage gym. My garage gym is nothing like yours. Now I used a ban saw to make plyometrics boxes, not gonna lie. I use Lowe’s and Mc Coy’s but go to Home Repo, I mean Rip-off, I mean Home Depot. I put in insulation and drywall and painted and then insulation foam for the garage door and put good seals around the door frame; which should of had it to begin with. Then the dryer is in my garage so I bought a Y connection and connected the portable AC exhaust corrugated tubing and dryer exhaust tubing to the Y connection and goes through the pipe that leads to outside. To prevent critters coming through the outside exhaust outlet, I put some chicken wire and doubled it up but made sure the door flap still works and opens upon dryer use and when using portable AC unit. You and your husband busted your asses and did great job and so proud of you both. I am well aware you don’t need my encouragement or approval but outstanding. I did and am going from small to eventually larger. You got to start somewhere and like you guys it’s been a process all the way back to when I was active duty and eventually getting honorable medical discharged. I like gyms and fitness clubs. Don’t get me wrong. But my musical tastes are discriminate against and not liked by so-called mainstream but apparently all the other stuff is okay? Alright, so took my classical music and hard rock and heavy metal and alternative rock loving self and began the journey to have home workout equipment and exercise machines. Nothing awesome like you guys but will see if I can attach pictures. I have no idea if everything or anything will show. If it does, when making my cardio workout room, the hardest thing was putting that ceiling fan in myself. That was a super pain in the ass. Everybody and anybody, if you can afford to hire an electrician or something like that, do so. I can proudly say I did good, but my time could’ve been given to something else. share.icloud.com/photos/0ZHdgAgiZxsR5bGyo3PjpEd3Q share.icloud.com/photos/08ah0Mg_B5c-jJnXD8Sj69Lsg
Once again you guys are Awesome! Started my home gym years ag with 2 Home Depot buckets and 2 50lb bags of gravel along with my military duffel bag and 80lbs of sand and worked up from there. Your creativity and “How to” videos really remind me how fun it is to “build” something yourself and the satisfaction you get from using your own made equipment. Keep rocking it out, God Bless you both. Stay safe, stay strong and NeverGiveUp.
home gym builds are SO fun! Mine is in my basement but we have a lot of similar things with getting stuff off the ground...always awesome to use the piping as plate pegs it works so good. Love seeing all the homemade stuff you guys have done....if I didn’t have my husband building stuff like plyo boxes and storage solutions I woul be lost! Awesome video update on the home gym
One thing I love is that you actually laid down the stall mats like you would sheath a floor. Offsetting the corners like that will help them stay straight and not have crappy looking intersections of 4 corners all over the place
Home gym GOALS! We are putting up our in our back shed! I have two questions: 1) how do you keep it clean and dust free? We are using rubber flooring and sweeping it doesn’t work. And 2) any tips on getting a hold of equipment during quarantine? I was on the waiting list on Rogue for an assault bike and they were gone in MINUTES!
hey! that's awesome! and easiest way to keep it clean is using a leaf blower, ours es a electic plug in a and does most of the heavy lifting. Then we mop it maybe every 2 or 3 weeks! as far as equipment, it seems like you just have to be diligent and patient. I would suggest regularly checking fb marketplace and craigslist!

Curious how those mats hold up if you keep your vehicles in the garage on them except when working out. Great video. Be safe and go hard!

patrick oconnell that’s great Pat. I am most likely heading in this direction. Thanks for opening up and sharing your lives. Keep your good spirit it echoes.
Love your Garage! I have a good set up at home but nothing like the American way haha. What is your floor space and ceiling height as a reference in case we decide to move house and I can build my home garage? Also, I'm looking to build my own Jerk Block, but I want to make them though they look good and they will still be cheaper than Rogue or other brand. Have Pat build some before or could he do a video or just advise on the type of wood to use?
Hey!! our garage is 17'x17' and the ceilings are 9' tall. I haven't built them before, but there are great instructions that are totally DIY. We don't have the space in our garage to store them, but I bet a quick google search should pull them up!
patrick oconnell yes I’ve already checked different page and youtube video to take out the best ideas. I just need to get started I guess but also need to find out how I’m going to store them in my garage, only have 15’x8’ space 🤔 but also don’t have Jerk Block in the Box I train, might just store them there for every one to use 😊
Hey Patrick how did you attach the ship lap? You guys have been a super help and motivation for my wife and I with our basement gym! Just a week ago installed 8 canlights and light really does make such a huge difference! Our basement is concrete with 3/4” furring strips and 1/2” drywall that’s party why I’m curious how he attached the shiplap for the handstand.
that is awesome! and we think lighting makes such a big difference! I nailed and glued the wood up with liquid nail! I used a nail gun but you could easily do it with a hammer and nails!
Thanks for the speedy reply! I was wondering if you used some kind of liquid nailer, makes sense! I do have a brad-nailer and a finish gun but wasnt sure with kicking up against it if it would hold. I will probably use a combination like you did. Thanks again!

Any tips for adding the wood edge to the floor mats? What kind of wood is best? I’m in the process of converting my one car garage into a garage gym. Absolutely love your videos and appreciate all the time you invest into making them for all of us! Love your garage gym too. - also if you have any tips for climate control to protect the equipment I would greatly appreciate that as well!
#garagegoals!! Granted they are all in limited supply right now, but with my space I can only get a cardio implement with a smaller footprint. If I had to get one, would you recommend a C2 Rower or a C2 SkiErg?
Hi Pat and Kristi great video as I'm currently almost finished transforming my garage in to a gym as well. I have question on the 'black board'. What type of material is it? Is it perspex or acrylic? I am from Australia so it might be called something slightly different. Thanks!
Thanks for the video. Do you have a link to the wall storage that you use for your bumpers? I think you mentioned you got it on Amazon, but I can’t find it.
Hey Patrick, where do you store your tools now? I would like to do something similar. Going to sell as many things first to clear up some area but then need to figure out my “must have” items. Thanks!
hey! I did a few things, all of our gym stuff used to be in our basement so largely my tools went in the basement. I also built a shed in our back yard so I could put all of our lawn stuff mower, weed-eater and my larger tools. I also just did some cleaning out because I have way to many tools that don't get used enough to justify keeping them. Hope this helps!
It’s be rad if y’all did a workout vid on the Slosh pipes. Like would it be something we add in as like active rest. Say air bike 30/20 with 20 slosh. Pipe Russian twist. I’ve never used one but I imagine it’d do work on abs and active rest

I love that you guys promote equipment that you actually buy and use rather than shill for companies that send you free gear. Do you think you will ever put a GHD in your home gym? That would be a good challenge for Pat to build🤣
patrick oconnell exactly what I did! When the pandemic was just about to kick off I went on a quest to build it. It’s turned out pretty decent! Worst part is living in Phoenix so right now, workouts are literally painful haha. Keep up the awesome videos! Just started my channel recently and love seeing fellow fitness channels and getting awesome ideas
I can’t believe I’m going to say this, but it’s something that I find really awkward when people are talking. Overusing a particular word... I’m sorry Kristi, but it’s ‘super’. Please avoid overusing adjectives. It detracts from your message. Your home gym is excellent.
Drop your weights? What a weak rookie move. A good weightlifter would never drop your weight.. this is evident you do not know how to weight lift… drop your weights is embarrassing

Had the same question..I built one based on the pull up bar video .it was not that easy 🙂
Hey Patrick, you used 3/4” stall mats for your flooring. How many layers is your flooring? One or two?
Hey! it is just 1 layer of the 3/4 mats!
If you ever have an issue with the mats shifting, use a mending plate on the underside to connect seams or corners.

Do your barbells run away from you since you're in a garage? Any tips to prevent that?
occasionally they roll a little bit. our fix is just putting a change plate in front of each side!
Our floor isn't perfect but it is constantly varied :) ,,, we use small change plates to help!

What did you use for flooring?? We are working on our home gym but are not sure what materials to use or what is best?
We use stall mats from horse supplier! 3/4in thick!
is there a weightlifting/deadlift platform?
We do not have one in our garage. We use 3/4in stall mats and then have lifting crash pads to help
What is the benefit in Crossfit?
I enjoy crossfit because it is a way to strength train and condition! It helps keep me fit to do things I love outside of the gym!
Kristi Eramo oh ok, is the injury factor high risk doing your sport?
How would I find a bar with the bounce weights that r used for lower price?
I have been watching this to compare my gym with yours I found out how proud I am of my own garage gym LOL
Awesome!! Having a garage gym is the BEST!!
@@Kristi-Eramo-OConnell thanks for your kindness and joneresty for motiveying us always and i like your fitness and strong phisic
link to plyobox? gj guys, nice gym
I love that you guys promote equipment that you actually buy and use rather than shill for companies that send you free gear. Do you think you will ever put a GHD in your home gym? That would be a good challenge for Pat to build🤣
we do have a ghd in the garage but I didn't build it lol and im glad I didnt have to try!
I'm watching it right now.
If there was an ideal garage gym I would want, this is it.
Thank you!! it took a long time to get to where we are! just always have an eye out for deals!
why so long shorts though
excursion to Paradise😍my respect to the Creator👍 👏
Great garage gym! Indeed ultimate!
I am loving our garage gym!!
Hmmmm so no rig is needed, just a pull up bar and a moveable squat rack. This will help me save some money and have more room in my garage...thanks!
Dope rifle tattoo
thanks!
I would love to see Pat use his MacGyver skills to make a Slater stone.
I have the mold and have made quite a few of them! we can def do that!!

I'll buy those Rogue weights off ya ;)
haha those are here for good!!!
Jealous. Built my garage gym this year but still have ways to go to compete with yours!
that's awesome! it took us a lot of years to accumulate what we have. There is no rush, just always have an eye out for deals!
patrick oconnell exactly what I did!
I just need a garage 😂
hahah that's step 1)
Damn that was some hardcore mirin at the beginning if the video
She up-talked the end of almost every sentence
Thanks for watching!
Awesome! THis is garage gym goals!! Mine is coming together nicely! Check out my vids if you get a chance!
Absolutely! Congrats on the Garage gym!
I can’t believe I’m going to say this, but it’s something that I find really awkward when people are talking. Overusing a particular word... I’m sorry Kristi, but it’s ‘super’. Please avoid overusing adjectives. It detracts from your message. Your home gym is excellent.
Thanks for watching, and I will work on it :)
Do you realize you use "up-speak," Kristi? Go watch the JRE clip where Joe and neuroscientist Andrew Huberman talk about why people use upspeak.
Thanks for watching
Drop your weights? What a weak rookie move. A good weightlifter would never drop your weight.. this is evident you do not know how to weight lift… drop your weights is embarrassing
This people is.... Hum... So...like...hum...Americans!
hsard ya, the hum revoting content you are putting out about hum kids climbing on refrigerators is much more watchable, and entertaining 10s of people!
