The 2012 and 2016 meetings, with Notre Dame as the home team, aired on NBC, while the 2017 meeting hosted by Miami aired on ABC. 2012 was the first game on a non-CBS network since it aired on ESPN in 1984. The only bowls in which Miami and Notre Dame can face each other now are the New Years' Six and the CFP title game, as Notre Dame can be selected in lieu of a full ACC team in one of their minor bowls, but Notre Dame can't replace the other conference against the ACC. All CFP-related games air on ESPN, meaning this rivalry will be kept off CBS for the foreseeable future.
