Andy has always been so real, raw, and open. His talk about the fans refusing to let BVB fall away, he's absolutely correct and I love that he recognizes it.
School doesn't teach you practical skills. It teaches you to memorize stuff to pass exams. Being a good / poor student doesn't mean anything in real life.
@@insanecarpet7160 Fair not gonna lie with all them weird damn scare tactics but again reading and writing are some very important tools we need and have in school though.
ronnie and andy but far have been your best 2024 interviews by far man i could listen to both these guys for hours andy is a well spoken man and has all ways given a great interview
Andy is such an inspiration. I may be a newer fan of BVB, but I absolutely just love it. More then that, I love his solo stuff. I love that Andy is so well spoken and so relatable. I enjoy watching interviews of his, because of how well spoken he is.
He's such a well-spoken person. What he said about Ronnie was respectful and necessary because it's true. If I ONLY listened to music from musicians that I agree with on a political level.. I would not listen to the music I absolutely love. I disagree with the majority of artists on many issues, but I couldn't imagine not having metal music in my life. Thank you Andy
I don’t have social media, so I have no way to reach out to you, Andy. But I’ve wanted to for a few years now, since seeing you around on UA-cam. I always appreciated our friendship in school. Just wanted to say I’m proud of you. Good for you, dude.
I´m only 10 minutes into this and Andys eyes already hypnotized me 😂. Apart from that, he is the best example of how you don't have to have a high school diploma to be intelligent and smart. He can talk for hours and still come up with something interesting.
I was not expecting him to be so enlightened, emotionally mature and actually pretty wise. He's definitely a guy Id love to have a drink and a chat with. A massively admirable person!
Definitely one of your best podcasts yet! Andy is always so eloquent & wise. If I could meet any rock star, it would be him. I'm so glad he & Ronnie are friends, & I can't wait to see this tour next week. "Litigate their validity in my life... BS & a waste of time." Amen!! I swear he reads my mind.
Andy and Ronnie have both be HUGGE staples in my life growing up... and it's crazy how far they've both come and their persistence still drives me through my daily life 🤘👿
I wasn't expecting that Andy would be so chill and genuine about speaking openly on topics. He actually articulates very well for himself and I did get impressed watching his body language as well as engaging with his tone of voice. His has charisma and besides his music; I really can appreciate his presence as an artist and speaker.🧸🌹🌟❤
Andy is a great reminder to not judge a book by it's cover. I'm impressed by & agree with what he has to say about rock, rap and different types of music. Andy reminds me of Duff McKagan - A cool, unpretentious dude with a passion for & encyclopedic knowledge of music who is also an intense performer.
I'm older and was late to the game bc I first saw Andy from the movie "American Satan" and that's when I did a deep dive and fell in love with everything. This interview was awesome!
Saw BVB at Popular Monstour and they were easily the best opening act, by a long ways. DGD followed them and half the audience headed for bathrooms and concessions during the set. BVB is on their way; grats!
31:02 this is so ridiculously true. I remember being so disillusioned with the scene back in 2013-2014 because you couldn't go 2 steps without finding risecore bands releasing 14 song albums that all sounded exactly the same. Same guitar tone, same song structure, same style of scream verse/clean chorus, same breakdowns, etc... Honestly, I think that was by far the biggest blow to Warped Tour is the fact that there was no interest in most of the bands anymore.
This is so freaking awesome I grew around Cincinnati and northern Kentucky all my life and been to Bogart's a bunch of times it is actually so cool and insane to think thats the same place Andy and Ronnie met just watching this is pushing me to start my own band
I have been a fan for over 10 years and I'd honestly love someone to just do an interview with Andy with any random questions. He always gives me such positive energy and is such a good speaker
Amazing interview! Been a BVB fan for ten years, when I was just a tiny freshman in highschool. It spoke to me then and it speaks to me now. This interview really touched on stuff I struggle with in in my own life (and as cliche as it sounds) hearing my hero also struggle with it and offer his words really helped.
39:40 100% despite all the things people have to say or disagree with ronnie on, this is something that is very true and thats turned a hater back from 2013 into a fan. ronnies really grown as a person too. he got sober, got ripped, and is currently making some of the best music of his career, defiantly did the emotional homework, self reflection and self examination of his personality flaws too. he's still flawed but overall a good guy. Andy is all facts here and no one could of said it better
this man is so articulated the why he speaks and well grounded I do agree that Andy and Ronnie are great artists also Andy looks great for 33 great interview sending love from Northern Ireland ❤
The thing about these bands, is, that for the fans, the band represents and resonates and speaks to and for them. And that is so so special-you can appreciate and like, and admire and enjoybother bands, but you can only love the ones that make you feel something compelling. Especially for the "outcasts", the bullied, the neurodivergent, the non-typical, the queer community, the alternative kids...the band represents all of the those people because the band essentially was treated like all of those kids, and that means family, when often even family may not be accepting. It is so powerful and meaningful, and so uplifting, and makes people feel part of something that transcends all the rest if what might be going on. That's what music is and why it means everything.
"butt cheeks whatever the hell" my new favorite andyism LOL im siting here watching this and eating, this literally made me laugh out loud, this was such a good interview,
my first exposure to BVB was listening to it when i rode with my uncle who was in high school at the time. This was in the late 2000's. Some of my best memories are when hed take me to the skatepark with his friends and blasting falling in reverse and black veil brides
Thank you for creating this podcast. Andy is amazing! I'm always impressed by Andy, he is so versatile, talented and creatively interesting it's hard not to love everything that he does. I'm a hard sell and older than most of his fan base, but I was converted about 10 years ago. I am super stoked that his career is exploding. He and his band are so deserving of all of the big beautiful venues and attention from the labels to his work now coming in. xoxoxoxoxo
People on the internet nowadays really think theyre going to shame Andy for touring with Falling in Reverse - like bruh Andy has had so many people try to shame him for his band he's immune. But I think that people feel like they have to justify not liking someone - and they are so rigid in their convictions that they 1) refuse to see the good in a person or 2) damn anyone associating with that person. Ronnie Radke is polarizing, but watching his interviews and listening to how he interacts with real people (not just bite size interactions on the internet) you can tell that Ronnie has morals and is humble and appreciative. Just like Andy states, I might not agree with everything RR says - you don't throw away everything else about a person. (Personally, my unpopular opinion is this type of one-sided-ness that has festered on the internet stems from the 2008 election with Obama. A lot of people who opposed him as a president just nitpicked everything about him as reasons why they didn't like him instead of admitting they didn't want him as president bc they're racist.)
17:21 I think he is talking about Ashley Purdy. Maybe it's just me, but I'm sure most of the BVB army got that. Ashley is not with the band anymore and one of his releases was a country album.
For a dude with social anxiety hes quite inspiring just from this interview if i had no idea who he was id be impressed with his vocabulary and intelligence... I know the band they were huge for me in highschool along with escape and stuff but ive never seen an interview or heard him just speaking... I have social anxiety and i feel like i could never do something like this
Still can't believe how much Andy has grown as a person. If you see the BvB logo on a Show's poster back in the day, you have to expect a stage rage to happen. Lol
I'm 49yrs old, I'm a Mom, I'm an OG metal head, I have 3 tattoos a triquetra (aka Trinity Knot), a four leaf clover, and a BVB butterfly ❤❤❤❤ Just FYI I'm saying that BVB fans come in all ages and stages A 49 yr old gets a a tattoo because It Means Something special My Son 23 and His best friend and myself are going to our 2nd BVB concert this Sunday in Alpharetta Georgia
So I say something positive about BVB fan base being basically all ages not just kids, and y'all put some crazy remarks Which Honestly isn't needed It was just a statement I mean I appreciate the likes But This wasn't a "let's see if ppl will respond" post.😂
I was never really into BVB. I saw them in STL when they came with Falling in Reverse and Tech N9ne and I actually really enjoyed them. Ive listened to some music since and its cool but they are one of those bands that are even better live. Its not always the case but its great when it is. Same goes for Falling in Reverse they put on a hell of a show that night.
Andy is articulate, honest and is an absolute sweetheart. And incredibly beautiful to look at, that might come across as creepy, but his eyes are mesmerizing
Great interview! Just make sure next time you turn off the volume normalization when you speak at the same time, on your end cuts out what he is saying and as well as some of the background noises audible throughout, I don't know if a lot of that noise was his end or yours but just some constructive criticism. Other than that! Really cool!
Listening to Andy describing the negative effects of the no child left behind act. You were moved off campus so that George w. Wouldn't cut ur schools funding for bad test scores. It happened to alot of us in the 00's.
Andy should really be a philosopher because he is so emotionally, mentally and morally intelligent and well spoken
Andy has always been so real, raw, and open. His talk about the fans refusing to let BVB fall away, he's absolutely correct and I love that he recognizes it.
For a guy who is a "poor student", he is very well spoken!
EXACTLY what I said!!!
