For all the people who threw a fit about Cruella with "oh its not true to the original character. She skins puppies!!" but you know what I actually like they changed it. My biggest problem with a lot of these remakes is they are too similar to the original. Lion King was basically the same story but "live action". Like your allowed to touch things up etc, to experiment. Say what you want about Cruella at least they told their own story with its distinct themes and style. Like that's what I want more of, if your gonna remake at least change up the recipe a little. But not in a regressive way (looking at you Mulan).
What about adding things that made sense? (The Little Mermaid)
Christopher Robin was an amazing movie. Winnie Pooh movies are so underrated when they’re literally GOATED.

Mulan is my favorite live-action Disney movie. In fact, it's one of my favorite movies ever.
Just kidding. I actually hate ti. It was the only movie I have ever bought where I felt a pit in my stomach as I watched it, knowing damn well that I wasted that money. I buy and watch a lot of movies, and a lot of those are bad ones. But I have NEVER regretted a purchase. Mulan... that's the only one ever, at least so far in my 33 years of existence.
It's not even in comparison to the original. The original movie I liked well enough. I think the soundtrack was more hit and miss than the other Renaissance films. And I sort of found the side characters to be pretty grating. I also don't think it's nearly as progressive now as it was back when it came out. But that being said, I still like it a lot. And in comparison to the original, the live-action is offensive. You're right that she is supposed to gain her strength throughout the film. But no, in this one they make her the second best example of a Mary Sue in recent cinematic memory (the first place going to Rey in the new Star Wars movies). Her strength is not earned at all. It is given to her by some whimsical magic she was born with.
I believe the concept of her power is Chi? I'm not qualified to discuss the nuances of that, but from stuff I've read the movie does a terrible job of translating the ideology of Chi to the screen.
There is very little I enjoy in the movie. I think some of the cinematography is good...? The costume and set design are good... honestly these are the only things I liked. I think the music is forgettable, and the cues from the original that they use feel so forced and out of place. The acting... oh man, the acting is just not good. The lead actor, she is bad and lacks charisma of any kind. It was a very phoned-in performance. The pacing is awful. There's no reason a 2 hour movie should ever feel like a 3 hour one, but here we are.
As a movie by itself, it's bad. As a Mulan remake, it's bad. It's just a bad movie that made me feel like I wasted my time and money more than any other movie I've ever watched. It's not the WORST movie I've ever watched. But it certainly gave me the worst buyer's and watcher's remorse for some reason.

Mulan would literally have been improved by including Becky and having her sing all the songs
Actually i was so disappointed in Mulan Live action because, why would you remove the music when the music was one of most legendary part of the animated mulan. I understand that they would follow the " Original Chinese Legend of Mulan in china" but them following it became more messy. Mulan is the worst disney remake for me, they changed the whole plot completely, removing the grandma, wushu, the cricket and the music was a huge crime.

When I researched that one it says it wasn’t produced or distributed by Disney which is why it’s not in here! But I absolutely love that film!:)

I’m just so disappointed with Disney and I’m a single dad to my babies (daughter angels) who are my life and I want treated better than they could ever imagine but im sad they are viewing this politicized woke Disney, im all about women’s rights and females getting what they deserve in life, I want that for my babies more than anything but we don’t need it shoved down our throats, I can’t imagine im the only one that feels this way. Let’s leave politics and social issues out of Disney remakes and jsut make them actual remakes focussed on the story they’re remaking , not trying to jam some social/political agenda down our little angels throats or manipulate and sneakily wire these things into their brains. As a protective dad of my daughters, I really really don’t like that! Let my girls decide for themselves how they want to believe and feel, the media is getting way too involved in deciding how our little kids should think. It’s turned me completely off of “new Disney” my girls love the classics more anyways (which makes me proud lol)
