Hearing how Hongseok worked so hard to fit into a set 9-member group broke my heart. Imagine being a third culture kid (kinda, since he spent half his life overseas), giving up a safer path, getting eliminated in a reality competition, and STILL persevering on to then join another survival programme, only to realise that the group you're trying to join doesn't actually want you here. And despite all that (or perhaps because of it), working your butt off to show them how much you want to be a part of their group. This guy really deserves a lot of respect for his work ethic, discipline, and perseverance. Even after debuting, he still works so hard to take good care of himself.
it's not that they don't want him there. it's just because he's still new and well, idol industry is a competition anyway. I think it's a given that Hongseok indeed needs to show his effort to adapt if he wants to debut. I applaud him for his determination.
THIS MADE ME SO HAPPY he shines from the inside out :(

I become Universe this week after watching Hongseok in Shadow Beauty and Blue Birthday. Not falling in love in the first sight because i watch him before ini Move to Heaven, but more i know about him the more i'm falling. He is such a sweety and talented man. At first i only watching Pentagon mv because i want to see Hongseok but now i stan Pentagon because they are all talentedddd...
ahh hongseok is really doing so well he's enticed so many new fans into stanning pentagon 🥺 it makes me so proud!! tysm for supporting the group they are so fun to love and there's so much to look forward to
hongseok is such a menace he's literally so funny and for what! you can tell he puts his whole life on the line when it comes to variety. i also thought he'd take himself really seriously (as he is with his physical appearance and health) so when i see him basically acting like a fool on variety or pulling the stupidest faces, it's so endearing because he looks like a serious guy and then he puts all that effort into having fun, and it's such a good way to attract new fans like me ;__;
my heart does little leaps seeing hongseok get praised he's my favorite boy ever ! he himself said that the more you get to know him the more charming he gets and also acknowledges how strong his mindset is :-) i love hearing first impression stories he's definitely the type of person you can't help but fall for
I am a new Universe. I only stanned them this week and I am in love with them. I got to know them because of Blue Birthday and Hongseok is my bias. While observing them I must say that Hongseok is so sweet and sometimes a baby.
I've been stanning Pentagon for more than 2 years, but lately I'm soo into them. I'm sure your account will help me know more about them individually. Thank you a million

Thank you for the guide. I recently started my Pentagon journey & for some reason I'm having a hard time remembering the members names. I know all their faces but I can't put a name to half of their faces. Two of them I mix around & for two others I can't even recall a name so I end up calling them maknae.... Long story short I'm thankful for the individual guides because I get to spend more time in just one person so it's helping me a lot more plus I'm learning more in detail about them. I've watched all their English interviews, two group guides, one music video & I will admit Hongseok hadn't caught my attention but after watching this I'm struggling because I thought I had a set bias list already but here I am in love with him now.

@@pentagu Thank you, for sure Yanan. Yanan choose me before I even got into Pentagon like three years ago because I saw the Chinese reality competition he was in but I don't why I took so long to get into Pentagon. The others are Hui, Kino, Jinho, & now Hongseok.

but i have a question about 4:16 when hongseok said that hui didnt "like it... feeling like competition." did he mean that hui didnt like the idea of adding another member so late in the game? or did hui not like the mentality that hongseok had to catch up with everyone else's closeness?
tysm for watching!! i forgot to point out that i'm not 100% fluent in korean or english and that things can come off differently/get slightly mistranslated because of context and the whole barrier but from what i'm getting here, hui was a bit wary of hongseok ? i could imagine struggling with both trying to fit in and adjusting to a new person's presence 😔 the boys joked several times about having a lot of pride and ego as trainees so i think that's what hongseok is referring to here !
