Thank you for making this into an ad. I found it a few weeks ago and it caught my attention right away, making me watch the whole ad, then come to check out what it was all about. I've watched it 4 times since. It's a wonderful video and I hope I can find my purpose soon

Not sure how it works but 3.5 million views with only 600+ likes, does that mean you advertised a lot with not a lot of people followed through to the page?

This video has been very helpful. I studied vet nursing when I was 18 because when I left high school I panicked. I didn't know what I wanted to do. I had a friend that was doing this course and I thought "Well I love animals too. I can do that." I passed the course and got my qualifications. I lasted a year before I discovered it takes a certain type of person to commit to this job and maintain an emotional detachment while still caring about the animals. I would get too emotionally attached and would get worn out every day. I am currently doing a job that, when I started, I thought was my dream job. I work at a doggy daycare and pet hotel. I've only been doing it for a few months but I feel as though the novelty has worn off. I absolutely love dogs but have found I don't love working with them. I found myself feeling very lost. I still had no idea of what career path I wanted to take. Then I saw this video and one of the things you said was "What do I love to the level that I'll do it even if I wasn't being paid?" I sat and thought about things I enjoy doing in my spare time. I love being active. This is where I found my purpose. I love the energy I get after a workout or a long walk. I have helped myself lose 15 kg and even managed to help my mum do a sit up on her own which she hasn't been able to since I was born (almost 27 years ago). Seeing her so proud of herself for achieving this made me feel so amazing and I have decided this is my purpose. To help others achieve fitness goals they have been struggling with. Since the first time I watched this video about a month ago I have signed up to an Online Personal Training Course and so far I am loving it. So much of it I already knew because of a personal interest I had in the topic and because I am genuinely interested I feel I am catching on fairly quickly. I'm sorry this is such a novel of a comment but I just wanted to let you know this is super inspiring and I am so grateful for the videos you make. Thank you so much.

The thing I would do (and already do) without being paid - and am very passionate about - is helping people with health issues. I went to school to be a registered nurse but was very ill during my entire time in college (chronic anemia, undiagnosed narcolepsy, and undiagnosed fibromyalgia). Because of these illnesses, I was not able to complete my last and final quarter to graduate with my RN degree. That was 20 years ago and still KILLS me almost every day.
Since then I have continued to research and study medical topics and now moreso, natural health topics and alternative medicine. I have learned so much since nursing school and even though I know so much more than I ever have about how the body works and how to heal the body, I feel almost completely defeated in life. I have no degree and no "real job", I make a small amount of money as an eBay seller because I don't have the strength to hold a "real" job.
I currently don't have much will left in my life because of everything my illnesses have literally sucked out of me over the past 30 years. I am feeling a bit better than I have in the past, but now my mind is so worn down from these illnesses as well as the anger and bitterness I have received from my loved ones due to their frustration with me because I don't function like a "normal" person. They are angry with ME for my illnesses - as if I wanted or created these illnesses on purpose.
The conclusion to all this is, I would love to work in natural medicine (vitamins, minerals, etc.) in some capacity, but I have no idea what to do or how to get started, even though I am constantly advising people online (for free) on how to heal their various ailments - this is my true love and calling. I don't know how to make a living at this though. I don't feel like I have the strength to go back to college, but feel I could manage a short certification course (preferably online) of up to a year.
I just don't know what to do and feel completely lost and defeated. I like to write (as you can see) and would also like to do something in writing but again, don't know where to start or what to write about. I have checked into freelance writing jobs but they are all so competitive and seem to be extremely underpaid; people offering to complete several hour writing assignments for $5-$10 in 1-2 days. Everytime I think I find something that looks promising and I get my hopes up, it either turns out to be a scam or else I find out I am not qualified.
Sorry for my long story, but if anyone has any guidance or helpful advice for me I would be so grateful. If you are looking for someone to write for you, perhaps you might consider me. If you have read this far, you know I have a strong affinity for health topics. Thanks for reading my story (this was only the very tip of the iceberg, lol).

You are welcome Donna, and thank you for sharing your story and your goals. You should start a blog and start publishing short articles related to your experiences, there are 1000s of people that would benefit, and at the same time you'll be building your brand and credibility ready for freelance writing. Wordpress.com is a free platform and easy to get started. With your purpose and your passion, even without a piece of paper, you're going to change people's lives, and that is amazing ❤

It's the same message that used to be much simpler to absorb when we had less distractions and expectations about what our lives were meant to be.
People like yourself and Jordan Petersen have brought the message back to its rightful place. Find your purpose, embrace it, work hard to fulfill it and embrace the deep sense of satisfaction that comes with that.
    Bravo Kerwin.

One of the few videos that have been used as an ad that I watched all the way through... Twice. Thank you so much for this, it was truly eye-opening and I'll be sharing it with everyone I know!
Side note: It reminds me of a system in one of the games I play, RimWorld. In that, each person has their skills but attached to their skills they have their passions. You can assign people to work on the things they're good at or the things they're passionate about but they don't always line up. Someone might be passionate about working with animals but have no skill in it. The game had given me this idea that you've gotta work for your passions, not just what you're good at, and this video has finally sunk that idea into my head. Thanks again.

I have no idea what I'm passionate about. I'm currently in college pursuing a career that I know will make me good money but I don't really have a drive to do it other than because I have to. I don't want to end up like my grandmother who has all the money she could possibly want, but she's miserable. My friends have things they're all passionate about and pursue it. But I still have yet to find that one thing I love doing and would be willing to do till the day I die.

  • @DaBunne

I still am not sure what I'm passionate about... I've been really into doing many different things in my life, but as soon as I've reached a level of achievement that I had set as my goal in that area of interest.. the task feels "over" and I lose interest completely.... it's almost as if my passion wasn't the activity itself, but just a passion to prove to myself that I can do a thing... or maybe to prove to others I can do a thing... or maybe prove to others a thing can be done...

Hi Mr. Rae, I need direction...I am very passionate about advocating for people and myself, standing for the Weak and the fearful, finding resources, I'm very analytical, I tent to always find the missing link, (my videos "Nycha carelessness" speaks for itself. my thought process is more within a leader arena., I've been told by several Elected Officials, that I am very voiceterous, and my presentations are powerful, in exposing corruption...(All of the above has caused me a problem in finding and keeping a job). Many have asked me, if I'm a law student or Law enforcement...(Which I am not) I can't change who I am.

If I wasn’t being paid and could just do what I want, I would act but in the real world, that is unrealistic, I have no skills in it and it isn’t s realistic path for me to take.
Money is something I am really lacking and money is important and I think money is a big motivator for me

    • @Chaotix
      @Chaotix 5 років тому

I am in the same exact boat. I would love to act, but the risks are so large, and with such a money-driven world around us, it is very difficult to take the step to pursue a career in entertainment. I am trying to create the courage to take the leap of faith. Haven't found it yet though.

  • @Chaotix
    @Chaotix 5 років тому

I have a question about what you said. I realize that I should pursue "What I would do even if I wasn't being paid" (which for me is something in entertainment like youtube or acting), but how do I break past the money barrier once I realize what I want to do? I am currently studying engineering at college and I am pretty much guaranteed a lot of money out of college. How do I give that up for something that I love but also something that might end in utter failure, leaving me with nothing?

I don't know what I want do to nor what I really love to do. The only thing Ive always loved doing is playing video games and wanted to stream / become a pro gamer. But my parents and people told me it was something silly and stupid to go for that the odds were stacked against me. Even though I knew I could have potentially reached a point where I could do that for a living. I lost all motivation top do anything I dropped out of school I recently stopped working as well. Just a few weeks ago I turned 19. I don't know what I want to do with my life. I wake up do nothing all day and just wonder where I'm gonna be in a few years. I need guidance and motivation. I have always lacked in motivation since a very young age and this showed in my schooling. Hope you can reply and make just give me a few tips.

    Summary:
    A purpose is something:
    - that you love to do
    - will get you out of bed in the morning
    - you will do it till the day you die
    - continue doing it even if it doesn't pay
    How to find purpose:
    - be aware of what you think about, talk about, fantasize about
    - they give clues to finding what you love (characteristics of purpose)
    - If you are always thinking, talking, fantasizing about it, then you must be in love with it, right? Makes sense.
Lastly, people with no purpose will feel lost. Thus, it is important to be clear on your purpose.

Money literally solves all problems. Even mental. You can always find a gold digger who pretends they love you...and if you're in love with them, you're too blind to see it. Amd at the end of the day, does it even matter? It's a mutual relationship. You can even medicate depression. Cash is king in this world.

Why are we here? What is our purpose?
Man’s chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy him forever.
Pretty simple answer to a pretty simple question, hard part is acting on it. If you’re dissatisfied with what you are doing, it is because your priorities are in the wrong order. When God is your main priority everything else falls into place seamlessly.
