    this guy has a very wise head on his shoulders for such a young bloke. Grew up without a dad like myself. My father was SAS and I cant help but wonder what my life would have been like if we hadn't lost him. I Know exactly what he means ! This is proof that military service can put a persons life in right direction ! If only they'd bring back national service for even just a year like most countries do.

      I think if they could guarantee that they wont be deployed and used only for home guard service, then that's acceptable.

      +Ormskirksalford Ormskirk Yes, of course they both do continuation training as well. What makes you think they don't?

    • @nathanhuxtable8604
      @nathanhuxtable8604 8 років тому +2

      The SAS candidates who pass the hill phase, jungle, desert, free fall are badged. The SBS is far superior in the maritime spectrum and their training is around 2 years longer than SAS as it consists of even more back breaking tests in the water/ dive phase, boat training, they also receive free fall training and all the same packages as the SAS on top of all the other mental stuff they do with ships and submarines/ oil rigs. The SBS has proven to be just as good on land if not better at various points in history, the fact the SAS has got all the fame is gods greatest gift to the SBS operator as it means that while the press are busy harassing the SAS hereford boys, the SBS are free to continue all of their work in complete secrecy because no one knows about them.

    • @thedr00
      @thedr00 8 років тому

      To a point, they all do Selection, Jungle / Continuation, E&E then SBS recruits have an additional phase where they have to qualify as a Swimmer Canoeist.

    I do wish people would stop deifying others.They are men.With extraordinary determination and abilities yes, but just as fallible as any other and twice as selfish as partners.So don't put anyone on a pedestal.Take what's worth learning and leave the rest.As Ant says,
    'What can I learn from (others) ?...I try to inspire myself'.

    He's quiet and thoughtful and thought outside the box by creating a TV brand. Neck tattoos? Maybe he got them after. And maybe you should go to war before you criticise. www.flickr.com/photos/neil-jackson/. There is never a reason to scream and shout... it means you've lost control. The finest soldiers I have ever met are very softly spoken.

    The "Alpha Male" in all its glory.
    Mattel sell a doll just like it. Sells well to young boys who used to read comics and now watch cartoons and play "killem" games on computers and iphones.
    Wow. If only all armys were manned by "Alpha Males".
    Has he ever taken a look at a real soldier and noticed that they aren't made of gristle.
    He's been watching too much TV.

    • @ellis0896
      @ellis0896 8 років тому +5

      Team33 He was in the SAS mate, he IS a real soldier.

    • @team3383
      @team3383 8 років тому

      Was a soldier.
      I also was in an elite corps with special training and special skills. It no longer exists because modern war is guerilla war in towns, close combat.
      No longer hiking through swamps or mountain ranges. OR the fight is miles (continents) away on computer screens - drones/satellites/GPS.
      Different training nowadays. Still Very Physical, but very different because different skills are required.
      I could coach like this Alpha male from past experience. Different circumstances.
      Funnily he only coaches for TV, not real soldiers. Hmmmm. Why ?
      The Alpha male is a thing of the past.
      Rambo never existed and yet this guy seems to think the opposite.
      Don't get me wrong. I respect his past involvement with the military, I simply think that the EGO trip he is on and the image that he is portraying is a thing of the past that only interests young boys, Hollywood and TV shows and he knows it.
      Good on him for turning his past into a money maker.
      This guy thinks a car should drive itsself with him standing in the back with a machine gun strapped to his chest... or that real men should travel standing on the side rails of their 4x4's when going to the grocery store in true Alpha Male style. LOL.

    • @luisjavierrodriguezheredia6918
      @luisjavierrodriguezheredia6918 8 років тому +2

      Yeap, I go with U, I think an elite soldier can be anything but arrogant cause he knows that at the end of the day that fact that he's still alive sometimes does not depend only on his skill to survive, or how good his weapons are .A hero can be arrogant and lead to self destruction. The Greeks call it "Hubris". A warrior knows his weaknesses, is humble, composes himself, creates strategy and lauches to the task with all his strenght.

      Does he threaten you? If not I don't see why you even care

    • @team3383
      @team3383 8 років тому +1

      Because trained soldiers do not ponce around with guns, jump in and off cars and boast about it on TV.
      Its like a Boxer dog trying to claim he's in fact a Doberman knowing that 90% of the people won't know the difference.
      I don't care about this Alpha Male at all, I see right through it.

    So tired of these SF types talking about 'their experiences' on TV as if they are some type of Celebrity. Why do people think others want to listen about their childhoods and growing up without a dad! It's the sign of weak people, their assumptions about 'life' according to them . They should try comparing their childhoods with those of children in Syria or other war torn nations where British Forces intervened and helped create those conditions for war babies !! People in City firms love these type of ex soldiers , as their security, as it gives them status and a perceived importance of their worth in life. Special Forces used to mean you also kept your mouth shut after leaving and just got on with life !!!

    • @EliotRao
      @EliotRao 6 років тому +2

      Like you'd know alot more about the Speical Forces than someone who was in it for 10 years, why start off with them talking about their childhoods like most people don't do that on any interview no matter who they are? Also talking about your childhood can let other people know how you first started off wanting to join the military, or what made you want to do it, there is a whole reason for this interview you know? Don't start insulting people if you don't have an accurate reason to.

      Speacial forces use to mean... Fact u ain't talking from experience or u would have his back. Why have u took such offence to this? The sign of a weak person is bringing other down exactly what u just tried to do. Have a a word with ur self, seriously!
