Listening to Falling in reverse makes me angry, it lets me vent, but REN is the avatar of hope at this point for me. I have used lyrics of his song as mantras to get me through the toughest parts of my life. I listen to Falling in Reverse and it gives my physical workout an extra push.

Ren is 34 yrs old. At 19, he was bitten by a tick and developed Lyme disease that went undiagnosed for 8 years. He was bed bound for alot of that time with extreme pain, brain fog, neuropathy and more. He tried a million things to figure out what was going on. He still struggles with pain today. He is the nicest guy too, one of the reasons he's loved by so many❤. He's helped millions who suffer from autoimmune and disorders and mental health struggles through his music. But Ren's catalog is very diverse. He's a rapper, a singer, genre bender, multi instrumentalist, producer and director. A couple of things. If you do The Tales of Jenny & Screech, do the 13minute version that puts the stories in the right order. When you do Money Game, part 2 has to be the lyric video, it's the only complete song. ❤😂

Wonderful reaction. It’s not an exaggeration to say “there’s life before finding Ren, and life after finding Ren.” He touches all emotions. His story is unbelievable and inspiring. He’s taken ill again. The Renegades will fill you in. You’ve entered an entire community. He’s still fairly unknown, which is crazy given the technology we have today. Because he’s independent and always educates us on truths, the music industry is snubbing him. He doesn’t care about money anyway(you’ll see). He’s all about the message.
The music industry (Sony, I believe) actually picked up and when he fell ill, actually released him from his contracts and even gave him rights to the songs he worked on with Sony. Part of the reason I believe he remains independent is because of how much time he spends fighting his disease and the awareness to understand that he cannot commit to the promotional side of contract requirement (performances, appearances, etc.) He is receiving recognition, by all the fans spreading the word. When's the last time you heard an independent artist having #1 in the UK before Ren did it?

Two months ago, I watched 'Hi Ren' for the first time. The rabbit hole is deep, my friend. This man's musical, instrumental, singing, rapping and lyric-writing skills are otherworldly. I have never been so addicted to someone's music, listening multiple times for the goosebumps. I envy you because you get to experience all his songs for the first time now.

It's such a scarily deep line. I (old guy) had been watching various reactions to other great songs I had some knowledge of from a few wonderful musicians/singers when I finally thought "why does this "Hi Ren" thing keep popping up?" and clicked on a link. That line in particular hit me like a ton of bricks the first time I heard it and has left me with damp eyes many times since, even though I don't think I've ever been quite in that place. Though I'm really not good at emotional stuff, I do surprise myself in how well I can predict very early on who is going to react to that line in some meaningful way, and who isn't.

If you want Ren's story in Ren's own words, he posted 8 videos on his RenMakesStuff channel titled Chapter 1 - Chapter 8. Whether you watch these before reacting to his other songs or not, they are well worth watching (not for reacting to). For info, Ren does everything (mostly extremely well) - he raps, he sings, he plays guitar/bass/piano etc, he produces his own music/beats, he beatboxes/scat sings, he comes up with ideas for the videos (along with Sam(uel) Perry-Falvey - his cinematographer) and more (including his busking band - The Big Push), he's done duets with other artists (Chinchilla, Eden Nash, Sam Tompkins etc...) and guest spots in songs by others (Prof, Chris Webby, Ven Bee, Knox Hill etc).....(spelling isn't his strong-point though....as you might notice in some of the videos that feature lyrics on screen). He had a UK number 1 album last year on 20/10/23, for a week.....which was achieved with no live shows, no radio play, and while receiving treatment in Canada for his Lyme disease.....

i am a 59 yr old man in the united states. This song can be described in one word for me....POWERFULL . We all have a inner demon tells us your not good enough. We must over come our demon to be the person we want to be. Ren is an absolute genius. Never have a heard a song so raw about someone emotions.
We were all mind blown when we discovered Ren. You will continue to be mindblown as you further explore REN’s music. He went through years of difficulty due to being misdiagnosed while the Lyme disease was free to damage his body and mind. He does storytelling, like no other, his wisdom, his raw emotion, his love of music, his delivery of his observations of the world and his ability to be outside the box. I was in tears at the end also. I found Ren almost 2 years ago, and I've never been so obsessed with an artist. He does every genre, does these one take performances, tells amazing stories, and it's an amazing human being who has been through hell. I'm definitely here for your Ren journey! He has made me cry so many times, happy and sad tears. Sinead O'Connor tweeted an amazing tweet about this song a few weeks before her death. She basically said it's the best song ever. Ren has loads of emotional stuff, so many different styles, and he also has songs that are just pure fun and comedic. He has it all. I want to go down the rabbit hole with you!! LETS GO
Welcome to Ren. One thing to know is that he does a lot of genres and many styles within each genre. Not everything is this kind of cinematic storytelling... though there is plenty "bardcore" storytelling there - The Tales trilogy (which does need to be done in order), the Money Games trilogy (which isn't directly tied or as important to be in order) and to a lesser extent Sick Boi. Troubles is a rap that gives an overview of his personal story. Then the rest is a free for all... every bit of it good and absolutely consumable in any order. The guy plays 7 instruments, sings and raps... you could get a ska song as easily as a speed rap as easily as a piano solo. I'm surprised that as I'm writing this, I don't see any other comments about his actual illness. Ren is 34 at the moment. 31 or 32 when he filmed Hi Ren. When he was 19 he contracted Lyme Disease, but wouldn't know what was actually making him sick until 26. He was misdiagnosed with a number of things, most of them psychological. Because of a combination of wrong medications and the untreated Lyme, he came away with a whole host of permanent damage to his brain, bones, joints, nerves and muscles. He's also battling coinfections, PTSD and other side effects like MCAS which makes him allergic to just about everything, especially food-wise (there are about 7 foods he can safely eat). He very nearly died by 25, but through an amazing chain of events ended up getting two stem cell transplants that saved his life and got him back to a semi-functional life at 26. In 2023 he went to Canada for extensive treatment to try to get back more of his life. What was supposed to be a 3 month trip turned into a year and a half after they discovered the extent of his injury. While there, Hi Ren went viral, his album got #1 in the UK and a lot of things went very right for him. He got back home (he's Welsh, but Brighton is his home base) months ago riding high on his recent success and with a whole host of goals and dreams, only to relapse badly. He's currently back in Canada and struggling with how hard that pendulum threw him back to a place he thought he might have overcome.
Buckle up. This rabbit hole is a trip worth taking. You will laugh, you will cry, you will be changed (in a good way). You will not regret the choice to keep going. He is the voice the world needs right now.
I see that you've been properly welcomed by the Renegades, so I'll spare ya more history on Ren, or any requests, just know, as someone who recognized that you were a fellow musician straight away, you my friend, are in for quite a treat with Ren, in my 54 trips around the sun, I've never seen anything quite like this kid!! One little tip, the Renegades are a wonderful bunch, loyal to a fault, kind, empathetic and always willing to lend an ear or give advice, especially on the subject of mental health, many of us have traveled similar pasts, I myself was diagnosed with PTSD a couple years ago, and have had GAD and a panic disorder for many years before that. Sometime though, the Renegades get a little excited and can be overwhelming to a reactor new to Ren, with requests to do this and that, just know that they mean well, also, there is no particular order in which you need to consume Ren's catalogue, it's nice to do Hi Ren first, which you did, but from here on it's your channel, and your path down the rabbit hole to travel, you do so as you see fit, and I promise you, the Renegades will respect your choices and be along for the ride. Welcome to the family my friend, enjoy yourself! Oh quick note, no doubt you've got a ton of requests for the Tale of Jenny n Screech trilogy. Sometimes the Renegades forget, so just incase no one has said anything, it does warrant a trigger warning. Not that there's anything overtly graphic, but as you can probably tell, Ren is a master story teller, and you feel everything he sings and acts out in his videos, if you have any trauma or unfortunate past dealing with DV or any sort of violence, there are few parts of Jenny n Screech that can be unnerving for some people, just a heads up. ✌️💚

Love watching UK reactors finding Ren, just because you get the cultural references and can understand his accent and slang easier. But dude, this has been my favourite reaction so far, it was beautiful. I loved that you watched all the way through, just absorbing it, I could feel your empathy. I know reactors may have to stop occasionally, but when they do it too often and talk too much it breaks up the intensity of this piece. I'm 67, and he absolutely speaks to me. I've seen a lot of artists in my life, but to me he is like nothing I've experienced. Love him so much.
Wonderful reaction. It’s not an exaggeration to say “there’s life before finding Ren, and life after finding Ren.” He touches all emotions. His story is unbelievable and inspiring. He’s taken ill again. The Renegades will fill you in. You’ve entered an entire community. He’s still fairly unknown, which is crazy given the technology we have today. Because he’s independent and always educates us on truths, the music industry is snubbing him. He doesn’t care about money anyway(you’ll see). He’s all about the message.
The music industry (Sony, I believe) actually picked up and when he fell ill, actually released him from his contracts and even gave him rights to the songs he worked on with Sony. Part of the reason I believe he remains independent is because of how much time he spends fighting his disease and the awareness to understand that he cannot commit to the promotional side of contract requirement (performances, appearances, etc.) He is receiving recognition, by all the fans spreading the word. When's the last time you heard an independent artist having #1 in the UK before Ren did it?

Two months ago, I watched 'Hi Ren' for the first time. The rabbit hole is deep, my friend. This man's musical, instrumental, singing, rapping and lyric-writing skills are otherworldly. I have never been so addicted to someone's music, listening multiple times for the goosebumps. I envy you because you get to experience all his songs for the first time now.
A Ren reaction video crossed my feed in September. I didn't really know about reaction videos. Now I do. I LOVE watching people react to Ren for the very first time.
If you want an idea of how long this Hi Ren reaction viewing can last, I first watched this over a year and one month ago.

I (old guy) had been watching various reactions to other great songs I had some knowledge of from a few wonderful musicians/singers when I finally thought "why does this "Hi Ren" thing keep popping up?" and clicked on a link.
That line in particular hit me like a ton of bricks the first time I heard it and has left me with damp eyes many times since, even though I don't think I've ever been quite in that place.
Though I'm really not good at emotional stuff, I do surprise myself in how well I can predict very early on who is going to react to that line in some meaningful way, and who isn't.
That and "one time I cut a whole in my chest just to feel, there's relief in the teeth of the kiss of cold steal."

If you want Ren's story in Ren's own words, he posted 8 videos on his RenMakesStuff channel titled Chapter 1 - Chapter 8. Whether you watch these before reacting to his other songs or not, they are well worth watching (not for reacting to).
For info, Ren does everything (mostly extremely well) - he raps, he sings, he plays guitar/bass/piano etc, he produces his own music/beats, he beatboxes/scat sings, he comes up with ideas for the videos (along with Sam(uel) Perry-Falvey - his cinematographer) and more (including his busking band - The Big Push), he's done duets with other artists (Chinchilla, Eden Nash, Sam Tompkins etc...) and guest spots in songs by others (Prof, Chris Webby, Ven Bee, Knox Hill etc).....(spelling isn't his strong-point though....as you might notice in some of the videos that feature lyrics on screen). He had a UK number 1 album last year on 20/10/23, for a week.....which was achieved with no live shows, no radio play, and while receiving treatment in Canada for his Lyme disease.....

i am a 59 yr old man in the united states. This song can be described in one word for me....POWERFULL . We all have a inner demon tells us your not good enough. We must over come our demon to be the person we want to be. Ren is an absolute genius. Never have a heard a song so raw about someone emotions.
We were all mind blown when we discovered Ren. You will continue to be mindblown as you further explore REN’s music. He went through years of difficulty due to being misdiagnosed while the Lyme disease was free to damage his body and mind.
He does storytelling, like no other, his wisdom, his raw emotion, his love of music, his delivery of his observations of the world and his ability to be outside the box. He does every genre equally well. Just wait.

I was in tears at the end also. I found Ren almost 2 years ago, and I've never been so obsessed with an artist. He does every genre, does these one take performances, tells amazing stories, and it's an amazing human being who has been through hell. I'm definitely here for your Ren journey! He has made me cry so many times, happy and sad tears. Sinead O'Connor tweeted an amazing tweet about this song a few weeks before her death. She basically said it's the best song ever. Welcome to Ren. One thing to know is that he does a lot of genres and many styles within each genre. Not everything is this kind of cinematic storytelling... though there is plenty "bardcore" storytelling there - The Tales trilogy (which does need to be done in order), the Money Games trilogy (which isn't directly tied or as important to be in order) and to a lesser extent Sick Boi.
Troubles is a rap that gives an overview of his personal story.
Then the rest is a free for all... every bit of it good and absolutely consumable in any order. The guy plays 7 instruments, sings and raps... you could get a ska song as easily as a speed rap as easily as a piano solo.
I'm surprised that as I'm writing this, I don't see any other comments about his actual illness. Ren is 34 at the moment. 31 or 32 when he filmed Hi Ren. When he was 19 he contracted Lyme Disease, but wouldn't know what was actually making him sick until 26. He was misdiagnosed with a number of things, most of them psychological. Because of a combination of wrong medications and the untreated Lyme, he came away with a whole host of permanent damage to his brain, bones, joints, nerves and muscles. He's also battling coinfections, PTSD and other side effects like MCAS which makes him allergic to just about everything, especially food-wise (there are about 7 foods he can safely eat). He very nearly died by 25, but through an amazing chain of events ended up getting two stem cell transplants that saved his life and got him back to a semi-functional life at 26. In 2023 he went to Canada for extensive treatment to try to get back more of his life. What was supposed to be a 3 month trip turned into a year and a half after they discovered the extent of his injury. While there, Hi Ren went viral, his album got #1 in the UK and a lot of things went very right for him. He got back home (he's Welsh, but Brighton is his home base) months ago riding high on his recent success and with a whole host of goals and dreams, only to relapse badly. He's currently back in Canada and struggling with how hard that pendulum threw him back to a place he thought he might have overcome.

I see that you've been properly welcomed by the Renegades, so I'll spare ya more history on Ren, or any requests, just know, as someone who recognized that you were a fellow musician straight away, you my friend, are in for quite a treat with Ren, in my 54 trips around the sun, I've never seen anything quite like this kid!!
One little tip, the Renegades are a wonderful bunch, loyal to a fault, kind, empathetic and always willing to lend an ear or give advice, especially on the subject of mental health, many of us have traveled similar pasts, I myself was diagnosed with PTSD a couple years ago, and have had GAD and a panic disorder for many years before that. Sometime though, the Renegades get a little excited and can be overwhelming to a reactor new to Ren, with requests to do this and that, just know that they mean well, also, there is no particular order in which you need to consume Ren's catalogue, it's nice to do Hi Ren first, which you did, but from here on it's your channel, and your path down the rabbit hole to travel, you do so as you see fit, and I promise you, the Renegades will respect your choices and be along for the ride. Welcome to the family my friend, enjoy yourself!
Oh quick note, no doubt you've got a ton of requests for the Tale of Jenny n Screech trilogy. Sometimes the Renegades forget, so just incase no one has said anything, it does warrant a trigger warning. Not that there's anything overtly graphic, but as you can probably tell, Ren is a master story teller, and you feel everything he sings and acts out in his videos, if you have any trauma or unfortunate past dealing with DV or any sort of violence, there are few parts of Jenny n Screech that can be unnerving for some people, just a heads up. ✌️💚
