That is pretty weird, because when the villain assassinates Joker, they are shown placing the gun in Joker's hand to make it look like a suicide, however, after the cutscenes, Joker is lying in a completely different position than he originally died in during the cutscenes, and the gun is nowhere to be seen, let alone in his hand.
Imagine being imprisioned for the rest of eternity with Igor and the Twins, they watch you shit on a toilet that has no privacy whatsoever every single day of existence.
That ending where Futaba gives you up to the police, also gets Sojiro arrested... Meaning Futaba herself will have to go back to whichever fucked up relative is willing to take her this time around. God, she doomed herself... Truly an unjust game :/
Actually, the japanese version comfirms she actually committed suicide and whatever parents she used to be living with reported the protagonist and Sojiro to the police.... honestly just thinking about it makes me upset...
If you remember, even though Futaba was Medjed, there was a phony Medjed and this is the one that causes the need for the deadline in Futaba's palace. It is the imposter that frames you. Futaba mentions that the other Medjed is a fake after she hacks them and there is another mention of the second Medjed in Shido's palace; the IT company exec mentions to Futaba that Shido put his company up to using Medjed as a target, because the anonymous nature of the hacker would make infiltration impossible
One detail I love is that in later palace failures, Sojiro's attitude to the protagonist changes as the game progresses. Kamoshida and Madarame: Doesn't give a damn and wants nothing to do with the protagonist. Kaneshiro: Shocked at the protagonist's predicament. Futaba: Protective towards the protagonist Okumura and Sae Niijima: Let down by the protagonist as by this point, Sojiro knows about the Phantom Thieves leader.
I think the Kaneshiro one is the worst fail, since Kaneshiro implied that he forces girls into prostitution and the police found Makoto selling illegal services. I think you people can put together what I mean.

Even after that though, if you fail Shido's Palace you still get a bad ending with that same filter implying it's just a dream/Joker's imagination. I'm not certain if this is just a convenient way of signaling to the player they got a bad ending, or if that effect is meant to imply that Shido's bad ending is a nightmare or a hallucination/delusion as a result of the drugs from the interrogation still messing with Joker's brain?

I’d love to see a Persona:What If, game where you play as a new trickster (or maybe one of the various other Phantom Thieves) and see a imprisoned man suspected to be Joker in one of the cells.
@@TheBrutalSax None of those endings actually happened. You're so drugged up, you start imagining the worst case scenario and Sae can't get the actual turn of events from you so she gives up.
I'm almost certain 95% of people know Akechi is up to no good on a first playthrough, the genius is how they deal with it and how they trick him without telling you.

I never trusted the dude but I couldn't exactly put my finger on why I didn't. Then when Mona mentioned pancakes on the reveal I was like that gif of Leonardo DiCaprio pointing his finger vigorously.
It's probably just slipped from the protagonist's mind, as these "Bad endings" are apparently just him recalling the events of the past incorrectly because of the drugs
Pretty sure somewhere before bad end happens when you fail to complete palace, morgana says that he’s going to find answers in the metaverse by his own
This is why I do all the palace stuff right away so I don't have to worry about the deadline. I get it done in like two or three days (depending on if you're forced to go out of the other dimension for some reason). I ALWAYS get it done early cuz I know I'd lose it if I got one of these endings.
Same, considering that 95% of us never failed Hell, i would normally complete the palaces in 2-5 in game days, I'm focusing on leveling up my Charm and Guts most of the time and i stock a ton of SP items
However, no matter the ending, it's not always gonna end up going that way. When it comes to games, players have....well, two things for examples you could compare it to. Determination. And Killer Queen: Bites The Dust.
Igor: “You failed your rehabilitation, ruin is coming.... wait what’s that???” Joker: “KILLAR QUEEN, DAISEN NO BOKUDEN, BITE ZA DUSTO!!!” Igor: “Ah fuck, not another Jojo fa- *[Explodes]*”
I just want to point out that Makoto snitched on you Yes she was being drugged and tortured, but so was Joker and he stood his ground (I know Joker knew, in the back of his mind, that they had a plan, but still interesting to think about)
My dumbass did the 6ix9ine ending on the first run of the game. When I reached the depths of mementos I recognized the song there, but had no idea at what point I heard it. Played through it again on Royal and didn’t hear Freedom & Security until the depths and kinda got confused... and now I remember this is where I heard it first.
Goro: A little wisdom from a criminal myself you heroes. Since one bad ending in persona 4 I take the time limit more seriously, in P5 I did it well, but for someone I felt curious about bad endings in this game and... uff... It's feels nice to say that I don't see one of those bad endings in my run
Of all of the bad endings, Kaneshiro disgusted me the most. Even if it was just a police interaction, just hearing what they did to Makoto is unsettling and makes my blood boil
Maybe I just don’t remember, but what did you do wrong for the Futaba palace part? Coercion and blackmail during that part of the story makes no sense, as the consequence was Medjed destroying the economy. They didn’t even know who you are.
I think that futaba was also threatening to expose them to the police if they didn't change her heart soon enough, so if she did expose them, they'd be arrested for being phantom thief's, since the police don't know about the metaverse they'd just assume they made kamoshida, madarame n kaneshiro confess through blackmail
@@user-bv5kx3jb5n Good points. It still feels a bit wrong that was the consequence though. They hype up a cleansing from Medjed for a whole month, just for it to be irrelevant.
Sadly this is the ending I just got now on my first playthrough of the game where Akechi came and blew my brains there. Not only did I have to get the worst ending of Akechi blowing my brains out while I sat there screaming and complaining to my brother about how Akechi betrayed me but I had to sit through the whole credits scene.
I never knew what kind of charges Madarame could file against the MC. They barely interacted. All I know is that Ann and Yusuke entered a room he didn't want.
Igor: This is how the Trickster dies? Fallen victim to the deadly sin of Sloth, even my chosen trickster can not escape, mankind’s distortion is truly endless, and ruin… unavoidable. The game is over.
Yes random guard, this guy that you had clearly searched beforehand somehow had a gun on himself, and he used it to kill himself by shooting his own forehead, with no trace of the gun or powder on his fingers to be found.
The guard was in on it. The Thieves inform Sae of this ahead of time In fact the game had a whole convoluted explanation for how the corrupt police were able to hide the fact that it clearly was not a suicide, which backfired when they didn't notice that the body never actually made it to the morgue. Sae says that they weren't keeping track of the body/death records/autopsy report
5:39 There is no alternative bad ending for Shido? I mean, if you find the treasure, but, didn't sending the calling card, Akechi won't appear in the scene
Ik it's like 3 yrs old but no, there is no alternate scene. Akechi is the very last fight in the palace before you can send the calling card, so the devs probably didn't expect anyone to fail by that point. Or they just didn't care, considering majority of people will never see the deadline-related endings anyway
People always made the failed palace endings sound a lot worse than they were. The way these were talked about, I thought it actually showed scenes of the bad consequences of actions happening (e.g. Kamoshida going after Ann, Futaba committing suicide), rather than just having a rather tame police scene where you get arrested. The Makoto one's the only one with adult content in it, and even that's delivered only as a single line. Everything else that people talk about is just people coming up with the implications on their own.
13:18 i kinda find it weird that Igor says underestimated rather than overestimated. Saying that he underestimated him would imply that he actually expected less from the MC, and would not have expected him to get this far. Overestimated would be that he expected more of him and would just show that he’s simply dissapointed about the protagonist failing. This has just always felt weird to me. I’d kinda like to hear what other people think about it though
I didn't really pay any mind to that when I first saw it, but now that I think about it... it kinda makes sense. (SPOILERS INCOMING) well Igor is pretty much being possessed by a demented god of some kind (forgot its name), so that demented god is probably saying that because he feels that absolutely everything is beneath him. So it makes sense that he expected less of him and didn't think he'd make it that far. Though in that ending he made it pretty damn far, but just failed to give Sae the phone which got him killed. So yeah, he did underestimate him for making it that far, but wasn't surprised that he ended up dying and pretty much told him to 'rot in hell and you remember what you did' just to rub salt in the wound and make Joker feel eternally guilty due to that demented god's high and mighty nature. Hope that made some semblance of sense lol
I think an ending may be missing? Supposedly you can refuse your persona at the start of the game when 1st making a contract with Igor but I believe it is locked behind a social stat requirement. Problem is I can't remember what day that Choice occurs.
Nevermind. Turns out it was from a guide which was rather poorly worded. Stated contract with Igor at the beginning of the game (implying April) they are actually referring to WAY later.
I have a question, so how does madarame know who Joker is if you failed the deadline? Jokers name was never given to madarame so how would he know it and then sue joker?
This comment was a year ago so you've probably got an answer already but like I've seen others say it's probably due to the drugs causing Joker to misremember things Now if these did actually happen I think because Madarame's connections would allow him to see who is at Shujin and would be able to figure out who you were but that's just my opinion
@@SubconsciousDeviant 1 month but might still be able to answer: Yusuke probably told madarame who he is, taking that his castle also gets more security after the second argument with yusuke (same happend when kamoshida knew joker and his friends were behind the calling card and went 100%)
@@acegravvy3969 I can see your point but (i think) Yusuke didn't know Ren's name, only Ann's name But I can definitly see where you're coming from and your theory does make sense
The Akechi ending is when you sell out your friends in the interrogation room after sae san's palace. Their also two other bad endings at the end of the game and Okumara's palace.
The ones where Sojiro offers you coffee are the ones where you miss the deadline and the one where Akechi blows your head off is where you you sell out your accomplices to Sae in the interogattion scene.

Bruh i dont even care about the charges. Im sad that Papa Sojiro is disappointed in me.
It's funny how even if akechi died in shidos palace he comes back to deal with you in the bad ending
Akechi: This game is over!
The Gaming Mole: Brad_Ry Major Zero, Akechi, You would create a Time Paradox for saying that!
To me, the creepiest one is still the one with Maruki in P5R
These are so brutal, you fail to give sae the phone and akechi shoots you in the head to spend the rest of eternity in the velvet room
I’d love to see a Persona:What If, game where you play as a new trickster (or maybe one of the various other Phantom Thieves) and see a imprisoned man suspected to be Joker in one of the cells.
Why does the bad ending slap harder than the true ending?!
Because its sadder, thank god its a fake ending.

That is your name, yes?
Actually my name is Ren Amamamiya.
Oh , sorry to bother you sir, have a good day~

You are a f*cking genius.
We did it boys... bad endings are no more.

That part broke me...
I kinda wanna see Sae during Makoto’s trial in that ending.
@@TheBrutalSax None of those endings actually happened. You're so drugged up, you start imagining the worst case scenario and Sae can't get the actual turn of events from you so she gives up.
she didnt have a choice, AND it's our problem that this happened because we ignored the timeline
So was anyone really surprised Akechi was a traitor? He hated the Phantom Thieves from the beginning
I'm almost certain 95% of people know Akechi is up to no good on a first playthrough, the genius is how they deal with it and how they trick him without telling you.
I caught onto the pancake reaction way before it was revealed so I was positive he was up to something when he suddenly wanted to team up with us
Hell even the Phantom Thieves saw it comming
I caught on to pancakes right away on my first run so I kinda knew. I wasn’t a 100% sure if it was on purpose until he was revealed.
I never trusted the dude but I couldn't exactly put my finger on why I didn't. Then when Mona mentioned pancakes on the reveal I was like that gif of Leonardo DiCaprio pointing his finger vigorously.
What happened to Morgana in the bad endings is he taken to the shelter or is he staying with sojiro?
Sojiro really likes Morgana, so I'm definitely sure he'd keep him.
In most endings Morgana provablly gets taken care of by Sojiro or goes stray, but in the Shido bad ending he's provablly killed.
It's probably just slipped from the protagonist's mind, as these "Bad endings" are apparently just him recalling the events of the past incorrectly because of the drugs
Doesn’t shido say to akechi 'make sure you kill that weird cat too'
Pretty sure somewhere before bad end happens when you fail to complete palace, morgana says that he’s going to find answers in the metaverse by his own
2:02 My god, in this timeline it wouldn’t surprise me if Sae killed you herself that is dark
REALLY needed some timestamps to identify it all.
Just recognize the dates
Hey! Coffee good for you?
0:00 to 4:13 if you miss the deadline from Kamoshida to Sae
5:34 to 6:38 the Shido deadline miss
9:01 selling out the team
*I did not realize that endings where that burtal damn*
Being stuck in a timeline forever terrifies me.
This is why I do all the palace stuff right away so I don't have to worry about the deadline. I get it done in like two or three days (depending on if you're forced to go out of the other dimension for some reason). I ALWAYS get it done early cuz I know I'd lose it if I got one of these endings.
I like how sojiro has a different reaction on the 4th bad ending after hearing you being suspected of being a phantom thief
This stresses me out to watch. Yeesh.
Same, considering that 95% of us never failed
Hell, i would normally complete the palaces in 2-5 in game days, I'm focusing on leveling up my Charm and Guts most of the time and i stock a ton of SP items
However, no matter the ending, it's not always gonna end up going that way.
When it comes to games, players have....well, two things for examples you could compare it to.
Determination. And Killer Queen: Bites The Dust.
Igor: “You failed your rehabilitation, ruin is coming.... wait what’s that???”
Joker: “KILLAR QUEEN, DAISEN NO BOKUDEN, BITE ZA DUSTO!!!”
Igor: “Ah fuck, not another Jojo fa- *[Explodes]*”
Austin Robertson man I’d love to see the Velvet Room explode and then Joker screaming: “YATTAZO! HATSUGEN SHITAZO!”
@@TheBrutalSax this fucking killed md
I just want to point out that Makoto snitched on you
Yes she was being drugged and tortured, but so was Joker and he stood his ground
(I know Joker knew, in the back of his mind, that they had a plan, but still interesting to think about)
Well, less snitched, more begging for the help of the one competent guy she knew
I did the same by accident because I thought Sae would help since it was her sister. Also some jackass told me to trust her way beforehand.
Remember kids Snitches get bad endings
lmao i did the same because i thought that was what the velvet room guys meant when they said to remember your bonds
I trusted her since I was on confidant level 6 with her and I thought she would sneak me out only for Akechi to come in and blow my brains out.
Goro: A little wisdom from a criminal myself you heroes. Crap
Exactly
Perhaps it is a foreshadowing of P5R from which we know Akechi is still alive. This, or an overlook
@FuckOuttaHere no he was alive because it was Marukies perfect reality and in there he did not get shot by his shadow self
What if Akechi dies because you do Shidos palace, but don't retrieve the treasure?
If you still don't know: Akechi momentarily forgets that he's very much dead and appears in the attic to accuse Ren
Since one bad ending in persona 4 I take the time limit more seriously, in P5 I did it well, but for someone I felt curious about bad endings in this game and... uff... It's feels nice to say that I don't see one of those bad endings in my run

5:15 the animation is so pathetic compared to the fake ending, it’s funny.

Whats the moral of this video?
When Sojiro offers you coffee, GET THE FUCK OUT AND R U N
Of all of the bad endings, Kaneshiro disgusted me the most. Even if it was just a police interaction, just hearing what they did to Makoto is unsettling and makes my blood boil
With the Futaba one in the Japanese va they basically say she committed suicide and the relative reported the mc for assault
Wait, if Akechi shows up and gets you arrested, does Sae actually offer an opportunity to convince her to do what you want her to?
A huge lesson can be learned here, manage your time correctly
@@Keep701 The Medjed thing was kind of a fakeout, anyway, and an intended one
4:21 this reminds of super mario galaxy when you die of your last lives.
6:40 hey what's that white particle?
the true bad ending: having to sit for over 5 minutes in the credits without any illustrations whatsoever
Akechi rly thought he would pull a persona 3 with a different person
Igor: This is how the Trickster dies? Fallen victim to the deadly sin of Sloth, even my chosen trickster can not escape, mankind’s distortion is truly endless, and ruin… unavoidable. The game is over.
Yes random guard, this guy that you had clearly searched beforehand somehow had a gun on himself, and he used it to kill himself by shooting his own forehead, with no trace of the gun or powder on his fingers to be found.
The guard was in on it. The Thieves inform Sae of this ahead of time
In fact the game had a whole convoluted explanation for how the corrupt police were able to hide the fact that it clearly was not a suicide, which backfired when they didn't notice that the body never actually made it to the morgue. Sae says that they weren't keeping track of the body/death records/autopsy report
Akira kurusu isn't that the name Johne typed when he played P5 ?
Yes, it's the name attributed to the protag in the P5 manga
It’s the canon manga name
Moral of the story: don't be a snitch
5:38 Hilariously, this scene still plays even if you already saw Akechi's death
5:39 There is no alternative bad ending for Shido? I mean, if you find the treasure, but, didn't sending the calling card, Akechi won't appear in the scene
Ik it's like 3 yrs old but no, there is no alternate scene.
Akechi is the very last fight in the palace before you can send the calling card, so the devs probably didn't expect anyone to fail by that point. Or they just didn't care, considering majority of people will never see the deadline-related endings anyway
Holy shit...the kaneshiro ending is uncharacteristically dark for this game
Named my MC Night Yagami, liked to think this existed in the same universe as Light Yagami
Honestly, when the game ends and you get shot and it gets dramatic… that’s scary af..
Holy shit Sae butchering all of their names hurts me
That’s how everyone else pronounces them though-
@@amirgarcia547 Ah, I see. I played the game in Japanese so I didn't know.
my five year old brother and I hated Akechi from the start. I KNEW it.
I have a question, so how does madarame know who Joker is if you failed the deadline? Jokers name was never given to madarame so how would he know it and then sue joker?
This comment was a year ago so you've probably got an answer already but like I've seen others say it's probably due to the drugs causing Joker to misremember things
Now if these did actually happen I think because Madarame's connections would allow him to see who is at Shujin and would be able to figure out who you were but that's just my opinion
@@SubconsciousDeviant 1 month but might still be able to answer:
