I feel like their should be a variant called Presidential Aid where you add twice as many cubes in each city ;) Thanks for the playthrough, I ordered this game yesterday, looking forward to some mini Pandemic.
At 20:00 though my mistake, as this Crisis card does affect the infect phase after the Epidemic card, so it's the same and you've played it correctly. Though as habit I draw both together to avoid processing one at a time e.g. Epidemic then Crisis which would then be in wrong order.
What a trip it is playing a Pandemic game among Covid-19! Did you also get a weird feeling doing so Rahdo? This new version of Pandemic looks fantastic and am looking forward to getting a copy! Hope you and the lovely Jen are staying safe and healthy! Thanks for another quality video Richard!
@@rahdo Yes, and it was great to listen to and watch! Your final thoughts always give me some food for thought and sometimes even challenge my own thinking regarding certain titles. Since this outbreak, I haven't had any luck convincing my family to play anything Pandemic related believe it or not. They say it's a little to "close to the nose" and I understand to a certain extent. I've happily played a few games solitaire as a result in my own time to get my fix of this game and even that has been a blast! As always Richard, thank you for your time and making us smile through your channel! Your passion for tabletop gaming is fantastic and infectious! Much love to both you and Jen!
At about 13:05 he moved from Phoenix to Denver to SanFrancisco. It looks like there's a line from Phoenix straight to San Francisco that he could have taken. But I can't see it properly, maybe there's not a line there.
As you are explaining the first epedimic card and then move it to the player card discard pile I noticed there was a yellow card in that discard. Not sure how it got there... but it was a minor error (not a rules mistake, but it might effect curing since there are only 8 total, as you mentioned at an earlier point.)
hehe, i went and looked and it seemed i dropped the bottom card of the drawpile on the discard pile when i picked up the deck at 8:57 Good eye! And of course, i would use slight of hand to make the game harder! :)
Okay question, I thought at all times you have to have 6 cards? So don’t you have to draw until you have 6? We keep running out of cards in the deck and losing so that would explain it, but it doesn’t say max of 6, it says must have 6 at all times.
nope, your MAXIMUM handsize is 6, but how many cards you have in hand varies all the time because sometimes you hold your cards, sometimes you play a bunch of them, but at the end of your turn, you always draw exactly 2 more :) by leaving the word "maximum" out of the rules, they are being a bit misleading, i agree!
if you want to do crazy things at the crisis card and mutation cards(from europe) all together in the deck and make the game verry difficult. yes you can combine both hot zone's The mutation cards are more challenging then then the crisis
I absolutely love your set up and how you show cards using the green screen up close.
I love how Paulo referred to "the Backtrack King" in his notes... the #1 source of rules goofs right there.
he is the best! :)
As someone from Minneapolis, I think it's pretty funny how you are saying it
Tegucigalpa is pronounced "teh GOO see GALL pah"
This looks like a great addition to the Pandemic collection.

If you draw a Crisis card and an Epidemic card, you resolve the Crisis card first, a nice forgiving bit on page 7!
did i misplay that in the video?

nope, no weirdness here. i talked about it a bit in final thoughts actually :)

8:57 a yellow card is slipped onto the discard pile. Klingons missed that so far.

That's not a line, it's California's state border.

note added... thanks

8:57 What is he doing with the Monterrey card?
it had already been pointed out in the comments here and I'm going to note it now

i LOVE combining them for the hemisphere variant. talked about it here: ua-cam.com/video/UWxp2ftVxU4/v-deo.html :)
IS there a bullit point guide for the difference between this and normal pandemic?
yes, in the rulebook actually, which you can download from the link in the show notes :)
Why is Los Angeles in the middle of the Ocean?
the word is, but every city has a line drawn to show where it is IRL on the map
It's Pandemic mixed with earthquake destruction for true end of days game.
Tegucigalpa made the map! I know that place.
Why is LA and No in the ocean? I know they are going for even spaces between the cities but to me that looks stupid
