Fair Housing Design & Construction Accessibility Requirements

In 1988, the federal Fair Housing Act was amended to include protection from discrimination in housing for people with disabilities. One of the regulations within the amendment includes the requirement that covered multi-family housing be built to be accessible to people with disabilities. I've never been in a housing building that has an elevator. So how helpful is that accessibility requirement really?

Management landlord took my wheelchair it was out front of my door when I made my way to the office to get it back they called the police to cover their own asses now trying to move me from an apartment that has mold who won the Dozen have any door on the bathroom or the bedroom and they will not allow us to lock the apartment from the inside securely so anxiety when I'm in the bathroom without being able to shut the door is costing me mental health issues
