Been dry and sunny Up North all week to be fair and we get a stack of stuff from charity shops, as we have a whole load of them in the town where we live. Our daughter always is manager of one in Durham too, so she is always on the look out for us. We have noticed that prices are going up in charity shops too and we always pay the proper price at our daughters shop, which have been fair to be honest. As Mrs Metalman is such an amazing cook, I have never leaned to cook at all, I can put a pizza in the oven but anything more complicated is still a mystery to me, so it may be a good way to learn watching someone else, cheers Alan

I think I may start going to car boots and attending the old school jumble sales (remember them) they still happen sometimes around here. And thanks Alan I will do a cooking video when my daughter is round sometime to help me film , Hope you have a great weekend pal 🦇🦇🖤🖤

After decades of buying stuff from Charity shops I barely bother nowadays, Carboots are still very cheap so I buy stuff from them mainly.

Its a shame as I like to use charity shops as its nice to donate money by buying from them , whilst at the same time being able to get affordable items for yourself in the cost of living crisis , but sadly things are becoming to expensive in a lot of charity shops for a shoestring budget. I will have to start trying carboot sales more.

Same down here John, some items in charity shops are a 'considered purchase' now; very few bargains.
Look forward to your music project....sounds interesting 👍

I just noticed there has been a shift in prices and what sort of items are available, I might start having to try car boots and the old classic jumble sales which still happen occasionally around here 😂 and thanks 🙂 , take care Gilly 🖤🖤🦇🦇

Here in Sweden it was expensive already 20 years ago in charity shops, cause it was already then trendy. Now even worser. Things is definitive many times even more expensive than new ones.
And I tried recently check apps for that type of thrift shopping online. And gosh! That's really expensive...
So I don't buy second hand so much anymore. But I do give much of my clothes (that I don't wear or not fit anymore) to charity.
Very curious on the music project too. Looking forward to hear the result.
And go ahead with all different ideas! I love when people are not just stuck in one box.
Have a wonderful weekend and count down til World Goth Day.
    Cheers 🦇🖤🖤🖤🖤🦇

I can see why. I also personally find the second half thrift stores/charity shops here in North America honestly don't have many nice items to be quite honest. However, I have given them several "medium loads" to larger loads three times over the years. But mostly I shop online as I have mild obsessive compulsive disorder and I have to know that the item is new & mine and haven't been worn. Though in order to save money I do sort of envy people that _DON'T_ have OCD because I know that alas, it thankfully just plain isn't a big deal/issue for them at all.
Must say it's super nice of ya to give to charity shops, Sanniz my dear friend.🦇🖤🕸🎃

@@He_Loves_Horror Thanks Brandon. The one I usually gives to... they do it for kids in Europe, not just in Sweden, that is in need for help.

Yeah we do have the trendy what I call "Hipster Prices" on city centre charity shops , most of the 2nd hand stuff I have got this last year is army surplus that I dye black and customise , funny enough I got some Swedish army thermal long johns in January , they were white so I dye them black , very warm under my trousers 😂😂. Thanks music art project is getting together well . and yes cooking video will happen , I like other things to film when its too rainy to go outdoors filming. I hope you have a lovely weekend my friend 🖤🖤🦇🦇

I don't know John, all the charity shops I go in are just full of rubbish that I wouldn't buy at any price (and I used to buy all sorts from them). Sign of the times I guess.

I was just out in Ashton and they were all just full of landfill fodder , never seen such a sorry selection of clothes , I think there are the odd few shops that are ok still but its getting rarer , I used to use charity shops quite often but yeah nothing of any use or interest for me for a long time. Best wishes pal 🦇🦇🖤🖤

I think people would rather sell their own items to get some extra cash to support their families than give it away to charity shops nowadays and i dont blame them! Have you checked out vinted? the missus got me onto it recently and it reminds of me how charity shops used to be, lots of cheap stuff! Only issue is you cant try it on, but as the missus told me you can look up company size charts online and see if a brand will fit you! Looking forward to the hat video and i would be 100% interested in you doing cooking videos, im not vegan myself but id love to try your recipes out as i dont shy away from vegan food atall! Looking forwad to your project aswell, punk and goth share that same feel as you already know!

I don't blame people selling their own stuff , charity begins at home , I've not seen vinted , I will check it out cheers , I will do a hat tutorial as a lot of people like the way I customize hats , so next one I customise I will do a tutorial , and thanks I will do a cooking video also , best wishes 🦇🦇🖤🖤

Eh up John, skinhead Steve here, the problem with charity shops is the charities have become greedy, and the charities themselves sell their better stock on eBay, you can't find Fred Perry or Ben Sherman shirts in charity shops anymore because they put them on eBay. Also, it's now free to sell second hand clothes on eBay. People also sell their used clothes on sites like vinted etc because they need the money. Charity goes both ways, not only do they want to make money for charity, but poor people need cheap clothing as well, but charity shops don't seem to care about poor people. Peace Buddy ✌🏻
