So true, I used to make good money from retro video games from charity shops and cash converters, but both caught on to retro games being valuable
yes agree ! years ago all board games £1 each. last month i spotted a game out the back worth about £100 i asked for a price, she called the manager he looked on ebay and asked me for £75 !

You inspired me. My used small boat business is as dead as a doornail. Boats, sold hundreds of them in the past but now getting old, boats are too heavy to keep luggin' about, they need holes repairing, usually a fresh paint job for only a little ROI. I need to start selling in quantity with much smaller items I think. Thanks for the video. Gave a thumbs up and subscribed. Now about to check out your other videos.

I’ve been charity shopping since 1986! Yes, I’m middle aged 😂. People are selling on FB Marketplace more now and charity shopping is so much more fashionable to do so it’s not surprising that there aren’t so many nice things in the shops. Shops are really hiking up their prices too! Years ago, I got tons of good stuff all the time, now not so much which is very sad. I think the golden age has gone! 😢😢😢😢

Jacamo is a brand for big and tall men. Quite an expensive brand and well respected amongst the larger gents. Always buy larger size clothing. Good market for resale

Woodgreen is a Pet Charity based in Godmanchester, Huntingdon which is about a 30 min drive from Kettering, they are the charity responsible for the TV show The Dog House where they rehome Dogs. Thought you’d like to know.

I visited Kettering a lot , that first charity shop you can get good gems, the is one more charity shop you both missed, cancer foundation, just down the street to the left from that last charity shop you went in 👍

Next time you are in market harborough, you got kibworth village, 5 miles away, Main Street, you got two charity shops there , real good prices there 👍

Jacamo used to be a men’s big and tall brand that are owned by the same group as JD Williams. Although all of their high street stores have been shut down.
Looking online you can still pick them up from their website and a few retailers.
Used to have a few famous faces as sponsors for their tv ads; most notably Freddie Flintoff.

Worst charity shop blunder for me was buying (for my own use) a pair of *used* Asda (George) jeans only to find that on the Asda website, the exact same jeans were £3.00 cheaper *BRAND NEW*
Needless to say I was miffed and made mental note to myself...Avoid these (once upon a time) so called 'bargain' shops.

I've been doing this for around 2 years now, I'm finding it more difficult to find items, people are either selling them rather than donating, or the shops are charging too much!

Resellers have ruined it for ordinary buyers from charity shops who used to use them because the prices were affordable. Now you can buy some new items cheaper than some charity shops. I blame Nic Hills. 😂

this is an older vid so i dont expect a reply, but how do you know how much something is worth when planning to resell it? do you have an app that helps you or is it purely from experience? i really want to try this but i worry i would list stuff for less than they are worth which defeats the purpose lol

I use the EBay search bar camera. That enables you to scan an object and filter to recently sold items. From there I quickly analyse it and see if it’s worth me buying to resell for more.

Id love to give this a try, i have alot of free time and would like to make some extra cash. Do you have a specific tool that scans items to see its average selling price or do you just filter them on eBay by sold etc? Great finds here
I filter them on eBay to see recent solds. Then I also look on google lense. That helps

My local charity shop sells anything with a name on it for inflated prices so 5 China tea cups and saucers I saw recently they had £25 on them 😲 they have old knitting patterns mostly 80s used to be 5p now 20p I found a very old one from the 50s that one was £1 ok not a deal breaker but still feels unfair when it's all donated. They know people resell so increase the prices
Blimey! Those tea cups are expensive. But I’ve found China sets are always more expensive. Think this is due to a lot of working assuming it’s expensive by the look so they price it high

@@JackFlipsEbay yes, and a book that would have cost just a few pounds has increased in price plus now has an additional £3:95 added for postage and packing to order online.

If only charity shops would sell at real bargain prices items would fly off the shelves. Actually things can often be purchased new from other places.

I know plenty of people that are well off and still shop in charity shops, and people shop in charity shops for all different reasons the idea of a charity shop Is raising money for charity, so the customers money is going towards charity so what that person then decides to do with those items is completely up to them they have paid for them items.
