It all has to do with scheduling. There are only two docking ports on the ISS and they are scheduled for crew changes and supply missions for a year in advance. Have Starliner docked to one of them for 3 months instead of 8 days has thrown the whole schedule into chaos. Yes, they could bring them back sooner, assuming Space X can get a Dragon ready in time, but they might run out of "consumables" while waiting. You know, food, air and water. It's a very complicated ballet.

I wish I could have seen the landing. The "garbage" at the bottom of the screen prevented that. I am so fed up with the overlaying of film with unnecessary labeling. Maybe it should be a rule/law for all recordings of events be filmed in such a way so as to reserve a quarter of the bottom of the screen to be blank for whomever has the final control releasing it so that they may apply their special labels. Perhaps an eighth of the top of the screen should be blank, also, for those top labels in addition to the bottom ones. And then there's the side labels. What-the-heck! All future films should be reduced to a postage-sized feature in the center of the screen.

So...do the astronauts get overtime pay? Im saying, they are now months into a "Gilligan's Island" /Boing 3 Hr tour. I remember stories of my Dad having to go overseas on a short repair/retrofit. But it ended up being an entire replacement and he was gone for 8 weeks, getting paid by the hour. It was early 1970's and my mom said pops made almost 25,000 a month. Too bad that wasnt the norm...🥳🤠 I do recall he bought THE Cuda. Not the basic , he said his was 100% upgrades options as far as you could go it was THE Cuda to have. To bad he sold it later.

The amount of excess danger of prolonged space flight induced damage . Is beyond pathetic, do to the simple yet well known practice of having a back up plan , especially with a new test vehicle that has been asked to much to fast to achieve without the back up procedure of a much more reliable and used system in a emergency situation. The lack of human life and professionalism that so many had worked to hard develop as a world class space program. That such a lack support system incase of an evacuation is even needed . The only plan available is a prayer and a good luck old boy alternative. That has in the past had used a Russian back up support or other ready to use rocket to complete the mission. That allows a best use practice of mission contingency practice. What thug acts have now made impossible as well as removing the contractor of space. X from being even a part of an emergency secondary alternative. Just sounding like politics are having a big arm in helping one company to be its own star child that steals the show even at the cost of human health and safety . A investigation into just who made things happen as they did without the support of space x to at least be a stand by . Must at least be an open investigation into how money and political influence may of played a major factor in this . 0ne must only reflect on the sudden death of whistle blowers of Boing company that had left thousands of paying passengers at great risk do to using parts rejected only to meet guidelines over public safety . And removal of those who report such acts of misconduct and deadly results over human life .
