Abaranger, Deka Ranger, and Gokaiger got peak suits man. It's no wonder Power Rangers were so popular. Goated seasons for real

shinkenger (or rather pr samurai) was how i got into sentai, to me the suits just feel peak
yeah the Kanji on their helmets are just *chef's kiss* lol
it was actually the openings that got me into sentai
this was when ryusoulger was still airing
i learned about sentai after i got into power rangers and i ended up watching a compilation of all of the openings
i watched a lot of the newer openings a bunch of times and my favorites were kyoryuger and toqger
so i decided to watch toqger and i loved it, akira is my favorite character
the only other sentai ive finished is donbrothers (donbrothers is so different from other sentai, and im not big on things being different, but donbrothers does it right, the story is brilliant)
i tried watching a lot of other seasons (shinkenger, gobusters, gokaiger, kyoryuger, zenkaiger, kirameiger, kingohger, boonboomger) but i just lost the motivation to watch them eventually, most of them pretty quickly
now i am watching zyuohger and i am absolutely loving it, i think the story is very simple but the show is so much fun to watch
i started watching zyuohger after i made my own ideas for how i would have handled the hasbro era, one of my ideas was adapting zyuohger for season 31
my best friend and my girlfriend made a game with humanoid animal characters based on our friends, and the colors for the zyuohgers and the number of zyuohgers, and the animal theme and the villains work perfectly for me to write a story with the main characters from the game as power rangers in a zyuohger adaptation
after i finish zyuohger i will probably watch kyuranger or kirameiger, or maybe i will rewatch toqger
these are all ones i want to write fan fiction for
also those 3 i just listed would all in a way be sequels to beast morphers
i would adapt toqger as rail rescue, a direct sequel to beast morphers
i would adapt kyuranger as cosmic chasers, an anniversary season mainly focusing on beast morphers and dino fury characters
i would adapt kirameiger as power rangers team wall, a new generation of grid battleforce rangers based on some of my friends
i also have some awesome ideas for a donbrothers adaptation, but i really dont feel like rewatching donbrothers, i just got done rewatching all of the movies and specials

I think number 1 should be Akibaranger because they do a great job explaining a lot of the core tropes and motifs of the sentai genre.

I started a few years back with Carranger and Jetman.
Then after a break, I went deeply a little over a year ago with Dekaranger. Tracking those characters through post-series sequels and guest appearances led me to the Metal Heroes Space Sheriff trilogy and to Gokaiger. Space Sheriff Gavan (and Gokaiger) led me to Denjiman.
Gokaiger, in turn, led me to Dairanger, Ohranger, Megaranger and Go-Busters.
Go-Busters and Dekaranger led me to Magiranger.
I'm currently working my way through King-Ohger to check out a series made in the 2020's.
Kingohger is great and I love Dekaranger X Gavan!
I think Shinkenger and Gokaiger should’ve had a crossover because it makes more sense pirates versus samurais
I always thought my first would be Zyuranger because of my nostalgia for MMPR, but I heard some people complaining that too many episodes were focused on "children of the week" so I ended up going with Jetman as it seems to be the oldest that Shout Factory has streaming and no regrets. Great villains, love that most of the rangers are adults, has the same old analog film look that I loved so much from the first few seasons of MMPR.
I got started in Sentai with Dekaranger and Kyuranger. And nowadays my fav is Zenkaiger. Its just so fun
I reccomend Gokaiger for new fans to learn about the past Sentai

It took me a while to get into Sentai. I started out with Zyuranger and I’m now on Abaranger
I got into Super Sentai thru Zyuranger. I had bought a couple of Zyuranger VHS tapes from Japan on ebay years ago and was hooked immediately after watching both tapes.
I got into sentai because megaforce was so bad ... I knew they were taking sentai footage and putting it in PR.. the mega battle was so bad to me I knew I had to find the original footage... and a decade later I watch more sentai than PR
@d1chosen973 Ikr. I didn't like the American adaptations for Samurai or Megaforce at all. I eventually found the entire series for both Shinkenger and Goseiger, and wow, they are so much better to watch. Shinkenger is my favorite sentai series followed by Goseiger ofc. I now have the complete series of Jetman, Zyuranger, Dairanger, Kakuranger, Ohranger, Carranger, and Megaranger on DVD and I'm working on getting more sentai on DVD.
Jetman and Gokaiger got me into Super Sentai, such great starting seasons!
My first PR is Samurai, RPM, and Dino Charge, but first SS is Go-onger, Gokaiger, and Shingkenger
I've begun with Gokaiger and that was the best choice for me : adventures, anti-heroes, strong personnalities and easter eggs from all previous seasons. Every time there was a focus episode, i checked on the net the particularities for this one and what it brings to the all team.
It conducted to Bokenger and Dekaranger, which I love for both their particularities.
Started with lupinranger vs Patranger and i am loving it

Watch gokaiger
Or for sadistic freaks ( such as myself) watch in chronological order and question your life choices around liveman (btw currently halfway through ohranger after a year and a half)

i agree with Gokaiger for number 1 but i was hoping Hurricaneger as number 2. Nininger is an honorable mention and would have considered Dairanger around one of my top 5. Zyuranger will also be an honorable mention

Imo the best season I've seen.
Gokaiger is legendary. Till now I am still so impressed with Gokaiger
I think I officially got into Sentai cause I was recommended a video about all the Toq-ger zords and mega zords. And then I looked into Super Sentai and saw that Zenkaiger was the "40th anniversary" season and decided to make that my starter into the series. Good timing too since regular PR basically chose to stop adapting super Sentai and recently announced they stopped making PR in general not too long ago.
I started off with kyuranger back in october after hearing that power rangers adapted kyurenOh, I'm now on donbrothers and loving it😁also my fav sentai so far is luprinranger vs patranger
All three of those shows are great! You definitely started with some really unique seasons!
Only one thing wrong here. Gokaiger is not simply "an" anniversary season. It is "THE" anniversary season.
I've often suggested to people that the best places to begin watching sentai are usually to find the season that corresponds to your favorite power rangers season, or failing that watch Gokaiger, or Zenkaiger as both are anniversary seasons showcasing many of the previous teams in them... Though I also often suggest that if none of the above options are for you check out the latest running season, or watch the various VS movies... find something in one of the above that speaks to you as a viewer and begin your journey there in full.. I also feel that asking a new viewer to go back to Gorenger or J.A.K.Q. could really be asking a lot out of a person as those series while still good have not aged as well as many of the later seasons..
Oh well thats just my thoughts on it...
My sweet spot for Sentai is Gaoranger-Gokaiger; my first Sentai is Dekaranger. It has been in my top 5 consistently.
I thought that they would have the Zenkaiger idea for the 50th anniversary.

Ive completed kyuranger and i can say that show is amazing you can rewatch the series doesn't matter how many times you have rewatched it will still be entertaining to watch every eps

It's such a dang shame that we didn't get Dairanger in its entirety. Those suits were the best hands down.

I think the Power Rangers adaptation of Dekaranger did the Green Ranger justice with his own Quirks that are similar to the Sentai Green
me personally i disagree on anniversary seasons being a thing for new fans mostly cuz they’re filled with references and cameos therefore newer fans wont have as big of an appreciation to them me peronally i think zenkaiger and gokaiger by lupin vs patranger and king ohger lupin v patanger is just such an interesting premise and king ohger is such a great gateway (other than them teaming up with kyoryuger) newer fans dont need prior knowledge of any other shows
but i agree with your points with both shows gokaiger is my third personal favourite sentai

I love Sentais. I like Power Rangers too, but Super Sentais have way better storylines and a bit darker compare to the more "childcentric" PR
What really got me into Super Sentai series was Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger back in 2013 because I’ve heard that the Japanese version was better than Megaforce which was true so I gave it a watch and my goodness the best Sentai/Power rangers ever!!!! and it got me into watching the rest of the franchise from point on
I grew up watching Dekaranger a lot to the point that I have the physical DVD copy of the show.

I've watch mostly Kamen Rider since I got into Tokusatsu with Kamen Rider W at the beggining of last year, But I have Watched Don Brothers and Gokaiger from Super Sentai.
And recently I've been thinking if to Rewatch Power Ranger Samurai (I remember loving that one as a kid but never really finished it. It was also the las Power Ranger I watched) or watch the original Samurai Sentai Shinkenger... But Since Shinkenger is in this video maybe go with that? 🤔🤔
But if I were to be specific, What is a Super Sentai similar to Don Brothers in particular? I know people had prised Don Brothers and talked how it reinvented Sentai or something, so maybe there is no similar show, but idk. I'm Still asking 😅

My favorite top 10 Super Sentai for new fans is #2 Dinosaur Sentai Zyuranger.

i have watched four series and all in these order, Kyoryuger, kyuranger, ryusoulger, and gokaiger. All four were really good series. Ryusoulger is much better than dino fury. Kyoryuger is great better than dino charge but I really really like both and Daigo is a fantastic red.
Great list, but I wouldn't include zenkaiger, I'd would have added timeranger, it's one of my favorites, it's a hard battle for top spot between this and gokaiger. But gokaiger wins due to Gai, Ikari Gai, because he is just a Sentai otaku who gets excited even with the new team, like when they meet the gobusters. Also Gogov should have an honorable mention.
I started with hurricaneger, then I went with liveman. Now I've seen zyuranger up to ohranger, gaoranger, Gogov, gokaiger, timeranger, dekaranger, shinkenger, abaranger, goseiger, lupin vs pat, toqger, gobusters, megaranger I was watching sun vulcan, haven't finished it. And I think those are the ones I watched.
What else should I watch?
I have to update, I saw zenkaiger, it's good, but it is not a great introduction point. That is what Gokaiger is for. But it's great. I liked it.

I started with Megaranger, then GoGo V changed my life forever.
I still think about that show at least once a week, it was that moving to me.

My first super sentai is gokaiger
After the rather disappointing Mess that was Megaforce/Super Megaforce, I stopped watching Power Rangers as a whole and watched more of the Kamen Rider Series. Started with Kuuga over 10 Years ago, and it was really good. However, now i'm thinking about watching Super Sentai to know how much different it is from the american Version. I could start the watching Order with Zyuranger, which was the Basis of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Plus, not all of the older Sentai Shows are on that Toku Website, and since Zyuranger is from the 90's it's surely still watchable and didn't aged like Milk like other Things from that time.
Where would I go to watch Super Sentai? Watched Power Rangers my whole life and I've wanted to watch the original Japanese versions, but don't know where to go.
You can watch a handful of the seasons on a free app called Tubi or from the shoutfactory website, for the other seasons I'd go to a site called "grown ups in spandex" where you can download pretty much everything
U should check out Tokuzilla. They have Rider, Sentai and Ultraman

I tried that; GoRenger is good, but it’s kind of boring at times and there’s better starting off points

Call me a noob but I didn't learn about super sentai u til I was in Mos school I. The military and it was until about 7 years ago when I first bought the shout factory release of zyuranger. No its a mission to was what we turn into power rangers. I'm on goseinger now but plan on watching the whole super sentai series

Bro this ain't Competitive gaming bruh.
As much as I love Gokaiger and it's my favorite Sentai, I don't think it should be your first Super Sentai season. I don't even think it should be your second or third. Gokaiger is best enjoyed when you have at least a few series under your belt and can both geek out extra hard on the cameos AND get some of the many inside jokes they have per episode. But as a way to both introduce an excellent Ranger cast AND give an idea of how and what the older Rangers can do, it's pretty good.
I would also add Bioman, Jetman and Gekiranger as honorable mentions for new fans. I think they're all excellent as standalone seasons and provide some really unique stories and narratives.
Now where do I watch it?
I would start with shoutfactory.com or tubi and then after that maybe tokuzilla or tokufun with a good antivirus

A handful of the older seasons are on a free app called Tubi or on the Shoutfactory website - You can also check a website called " grown ups in spandex" - after that there is a website called "tokuzilla" but I have to warn you that this site will constantly popup sketchy things in another tab so make sure you have a good antivirus. I personally use Tubi and grown ups in spandex, but If I have to use Tokuzilla for something I watch it from the browser on a really old xbox ( that I dont really think is prone to viruses ).
