This video is bittersweet to watch because my mother threw out my childhood Pokemon card collection. I definitely had first editions in there...oh well. I'm glad others still have their original collections.
I have the SAME three ring binder with the exact Pokédex cover for my own collection from my childhood!!! Floored. They really must have pushed that exact design back in the day or something. Fun fact: last I recall, my collection also has a bunch of really funny handmade bootleg temporary tattoos from a local craft fair tucked away inside that I could never bring myself to use!
I’m a Pokemon card girl and my husband is a yu-gi-oh card guy 😂 we keep our collections in a cabinet next to each other. Our daughter is a fan of both so we have a little collection starting for her. Such a fun wholesome family thing ❤
By the end of this video I was happy crying! My ex has my entire collection of cards, including my childhood ones, and I had forgotten about all the obscure cards I had until you pulled out each type! So glad I wasn't the only kid to keep all the types of cards in a special binder just because they were Pokemon related

I was close enough to Canada growing up that French was the second language on all our packaging too! It wasn't until I moved to the opposite coast and saw Spanish that I realized how much more common it was.

The Topps cards were THE Pokemon cards in my school and neighborhood during peak Pokemania, so they're super nostalgic! They were wonderful drawing reference too.
this was suuuuper tingly and very fun to watch as well! my childhood pokémon card collection is from around 2006-2009 and I got back into it by playing the game in around 2016

first of all, the below glass angle is so nice and innovative. my mom donated all our cards without telling me. we did have quite a lot as well, though mostly first and second gen 🥲 when the pokemon cards hype came back a couple years ago, i bought 2 packs for 50 euro (lol) out of spite and actually got a few of my fav cards
The cards more more durable then one would think I had a card in different binders and I graded it and it got top mark. I was surprised but it helped me understand their durability
The Yu-Gi-Oh card is even more mysterious because it's an ArcV series card (the 5th series of YuGiOh), and at the earliest released in 2014, a mere 10 years ago. The rest of the cards in there were much older. I think the newest card I saw was a generation 5 Plasma Escavilier card, which I suppose was 2013, but most of them were either generation 4, 2 or 1 cards in there, so it spans quite a lot of years, to say the least! It's always neat seeing childhood collections like this though!

🌿 Grass was always my favorite type! Sadly I wasn't allowed to have any pokemon cards as a kid, my cousin would sometimes give me some but I had to hide them from my parents 😅 I really loved my ponita card.

ALB, I think that a good way to protect you Vapreon card from that binder would to be get it Graded. As getting cards Graded gets them put into a solid physical plastic case that protects them alot especially from things like water damage.
The nostalgiaaa!! I had so many of the same cards, almost crying thinking about where on earth they could be… 😭🩵 the ones you said peeled off, i had some of them like Dark Jolteon and i think at least that one is official, i kinda remember when i got it fresh from the store ’cause i loved the card!
Fun fact about the burger king cards... 1. You can buy the entire set of un torn sheets for like $30 lol. 2. They made 2 types, Perforated, which you tore out, and Unperforated, which came just as the cards ( these were the first ones they did and are much more rare ). For instance a unperforated charizard card is worth a bit of money in a higher grade like psa 8-10. Love seeing the child hood collections and it's pretty wild that even back then people were making fraud cards.
If I were ALB, I would probably get the holographic cards from when I was a kid graded and slabbed, purely because I love those cards and the memories that I have from them.
20:18 💯 I enjoy playing with my prettier cards I just look at em reaaaal close before I do and grade them if they can top mark. I look forward to looking back at my cards I played with
I remember my elementary school back in like 2002 had this room they would sell binders pencils and all that and they had a bunch of pokemon binders pencils and other cool stuff like pokemon key chains for your backpack i would be buying Mew binders and team rocket pencils good times
