I genuinely didnt realise how many different designs of cards there were, thats insane!
The craziest is, there's even more. Here in Germany we have a design that completely drifts off from the "normal" design theme you have here. So like, all the card games you know will be MUCH harder with that design as there is no hearts, no spades, no clubs and no diamonds
There's soooo many and I have just a small fraction of them. I really want to keep collecting it's just VERY expensive 😅
@@DidoASMR i collect Pokemon Cards and thats expensive enough spent a ridiculius amount at London Comic Con today, i cant imagine how much decks of normal playing cards would be
and there the Fancy expensive card that mostly used for tricks

As an avid collector of playing cards, this video makes me so happy! More people need to see that the deck they use for game night can be more than just a basic design (though there's nothing wrong with basic). Some decks are genuinely works of art; 52 individual mini masterpieces that you can carry around in your pocket, At over 400 decks and counting, I'm not planning on stopping any time soon!

Where have you been my whole life? I have never been able to fall asleep so quickly. Even as a baby, I had dark circles under my eyes. Last night I thought I would not get any rest because I had gone through something traumatic right before bed. However, this video put me to sleep within 20 minutes. Thank you, Dido! Really cool collection. My personal favourites that you don't own (or haven't shown) are Bicycle Fyrebird and Bicycle Stained Glass Phoenix or Leviathan cards. They have both great front and back designs and I really love them.

At 41:00, memento mori is latin and it means “remember that you have to (will) die” and it has its origins in Roman Empire, linked to generals coming back to the city after a win, receiving honors and wealth but also being reminded that they were still mortals. It also became very popular in the christian religion art in the 1600s, often pictured as a skull with flowers and fruits and sometimes even timepieces as a symbol of the inevitable passing of time

I live in Vegas and also collect playing cards. There's a fun gift shop novelty where cards from different casinos are sold for pretty cheap. I have a couple sets and I love them :) great video!

@@DidoASMR I'm partial to my deck from the Flamingo hotel :) I really need to get a display case or something for them. Aside from that, I just bought a new deck in New Orleans that I'm excited to unbox.
I'd recommend getting different kinds of cards as well. Pinochle. Or different schemes in other cultures.

It's not your case that left a mark on your mint deck it's the light that's always shining on it. It fades the color. I would recommend keeping your cards in a dark place.

I have a small but growing set of vintage airline playing cards that I keep amassing from family members, half of them are from dead airlines like pan am
I dont understand what the point of the cards would be if you can work out the number and shape by looking at the back patterns?
Magicians use subtle markings to pretend that they have psychic/supernatural abilities. They aren't meant for the average person to use for playing games.
