The thing I love about this track is the way 6 musicians work together in a way that seems seamless, effortless, and is perfect. I sometimes take the night train to Paris, and I if can't sleep I will scroll to "Her Alone" and listen to it, and then I am calm. It's a beautiful track and shows how flexible a band Amorphis is. Seriously, when you are tired, and kind of edgy, get a little bit stoned and listen to this with headphones, and relax. This is what great music is. Whether you are heavy or power or death, or whatever, this is music. Though, you could be a fan of British Pop, in which case, please try. It won't be easy but it will be worth it.

I think this song is about the mother, not wife/GF, of Lemminkäinen. He is a shaman-warrior but kinda dependent of his powerful mother, a witch. In the epic, she searches heaven and earth after her son has gone missing, and finally drags his broken body from the river of Tuonela. She sews him together and brings him back to life. So I guess he has good reason to be a mama's boy.
Lemminkäinen (a prominent figure in Finnish mythology) is one of the heroes of the Kalevala (a Finnish epic). Louhi is described as a powerful and evil witch queen who has a number of beautiful daughters, whom Lemminkäinen & other heroes attempt to win in various legends. In true fairy tale form, Louhi sets them difficult-to-impossible tasks to perform in order to claim such a prize. I believe this song is about Lemminkäinen's obedience to Louhi as he wishes to claim one of her daughters.
