Deep Purple Potassium Iodate Reaction (HD)

This reaction was performed at my High School's chemistry lab (AP Chemistry). With the correct concentration of Potassium Iodate, it is possible to create a purple color-changing clock. Is the left beaker the starch solution?

I believe that the left beaker is indeed the starch solution, yes. If you want to see some better videos of this reaction, I would suggest searching Google for "Iodine clock reaction." Some of them are quite fascinating!
