How to Fix Google Pixel 7 Bluetooth Pairing Connectivity Issues and Bugs

Bluetooth on Android as a whole can be finicky and troublesome for some people but there are a number of things we can try in an attempt to fix them. If you have the Google Pixel 7 or the Pixel 7 Pro and are having difficulty pairing your Bluetooth device to the smartphone then you should be aware of some troubleshooting steps.
Bluetooth issues are not isolated to the Pixel 7 series as these bugs pop up from time to time for virtually every single Android smartphone or tablet out there.
But if you're having trouble connecting a Bluetooth device to your new Pixel phone. . .or maybe you're just experiencing a poor Bluetooth connection with stutters, pauses, or skips, then try one of these suggestions as they can really help clear out the issue you're having.
Reboot the Device
The first thing I want to recommend is that you turn the Pixel 7 or Pixel 7 Pro off, and then turn it back on. We can perform a standard reboot by bringing up the Power Menu and then tapping the Restart button when it appears. I understand that this step may seem useless, but I've seen this simple suggestion help hundreds of people over the years.
The best part with this suggestion is that it is really quick to perform and you'll immediately know whether or not it worked by trying to pair your Bluetooth device with the phone when it boots back up.
Reset Network Connections
If that didn't help, then the next thing that I would recommend is that you use a network reset feature that is built right into Android.
Using this feature will delete all of the saved WiFi Networks and Bluetooth devices that you have stored in the phone, so know that you will need to enter WiFi passwords in again before you'll be able to connect to them again. But this troubleshooting steps is much better than having to perform a factory data reset.

Delete Bluetooth App Data
If you're still struggling to connect the phone to a Bluetooth device then the next thing I can suggest is that you delete the app data associated with the Bluetooth application. This isn't an application you'll find in the App Drawer, but it is a system app that can be found within the Settings application.
And then from here you should be able to wipe the app cache as well as the application data for the Bluetooth application itself.
Developer Mode Options
I used to be able to recommend that people switch to an experimental Bluetooth stack for Android as troubleshooting step for Bluetooth connection issues. However with Android 13, this is no longer experimental and the work that Google has done to help fix Bluetooth on Android is the default option for everyone.
However, there are still a number of Bluetooth settings within the secret Developer Options menu. So if you're still unable to pair your Pixel 7 to a Bluetooth device then I recommend enabling Developer Mode and trying out these additional options.
Factory Data Reset
The last thing that I'll recommend here is that you perform a factory data reset in an attempt to fix any issues you may be experiencing with Bluetooth on the Pixel 7 or Pixel 7 Pro. I understand this is not something most people want to hear, but if you've tried all of the other suggestions then there is little else you can do.
Installing OTA updates can, in some rare cases, cause system-wide bugs to appear and Bluetooth pairing seems to be affected quite a lot when it comes to these types of bugs. Even if your phone is fresh from the factory, there could have been a hiccup during the firmware installation process that is causing this issue.

Any thoughts on this...
Under Connected Devices, I see 3 Saved Devices, my headphones, my car, and my hearing aides. When I try to get the hearing aides to connect, it typically fails. Some days they connect, and others they won't, or they'll connect in the am and then refuse to in the pm. I never had this issue on my 4 year old LG G7 ThinQ.
There's a bunch of other glitches too which I've reported to Google through the Send Feedback About This Device screen, but who knows if anyone is doing anything. I may have to dump this phone before the 30 day period is up and try a Samsung.

Bro, you're a lifesaver. For some reason my phone was glitched and I couldn't use the Bluetooth mode for phone calls I almost bought a new pair of headphones
Just bought a brand new pair of Bose Quietcomfort Earbuds. Initially, I could hear audio but it would keep cutting out like it was losing bluetooth connection periodically. I received a phone call and it kept cutting out, so I took out the earbuds. At the conclusion of the call, I discovered my earbuds would no longer play music. When putting them in, I would only hear a chime from the left earbud, but not the right. When I attempted another call, it would only play on the left earbud. I followed all the steps in this guide, included the dreaded factory phone reset, and STILL can't get these earbuds to connect. Not sure if I should be pointing fingers at Bose or Google, but at this point, i'm too frustrated to care. I'm sending them back to Amazon. >_>
So my pixel has to reconnect to the watch 5pro after I turn bluetooth off then on. I go to bluetooth and my buds and my car are in the "saved devices" but my watch shows up in "other devices". Idk whats whats going on

Appreciate the vid.
After trying everything on this vid and other ideas without success, it dawned on me that maybe I need to reset (not flash) the bluetooth device itself. In my case, it was a headset that I was able to reset by pressing two buttons at the same time. Sure enough, it worked. So, if you have a way of resetting or maybe turning off and back on, your device, this might be the thing that works. When I think about it, I had never turned the headset off and back on again. It just always worked. Anyway, hope that helps someone.

I have no problem connecting Bluetooth. But I bought some Skullcandy mods. And some JBL's The sound will go through. But it won't allow me to use the touch features on the Bluetooth buds. Please help

I didn't want to have to reset all my network settings. I went under Bluetooth, found the device, clicked forget device, searched for it and it paired. My old ear buds do this with this pixel 7 pro ? ?

I've tried everything in the video and my Bluetooth still doesn't play sound in my earbuds even if it says their connected. do you think I have to go fix the problem myself or do I wait for Google to release an update?

The app cache and user data are lock for Bluetooth app, since its a system app, they are even grayed out in your vid.
correct, this seems to be a new change in the Android 13 update. I can only recommend you try the other suggestions offered in this video
Any advice for me? I can connect my pixel 7 to everything except my bmw. It connects, but when you switch songs manually it begins to lag behind like 20+ seconds. Then it'll stop working for an extended period until it feels like kicking back in. I don't have this issue with Galaxy or iPhone.
I have a similar issue in a New VW. I didn't have this problem in previous model VW, it worked just fine. Odd.

Trying to connect a Realme Watch to my P7 🤦🏻♂️ connects fine to P3 and 6A what am I doing wrong?
My new Pixel 8 doesn't play nice with Dodge UConnect Bluetooth or even with USB-C wired headphones that worked perfectly with my Samsung. Connectivity is a bit flaky. Wired headphones require unplug and replug even when working and just changing to another app!
wired headphones shouldn't have any issue at all. I would look into doing an RMA so you could get a new Pixel 8

Yes , I tried all the methods shown in the video , but still it is not working 🙁🫤 for me ,I reinstalled the rom again facing same issue , earbuds not connecting in WhatsApp calls neither discord or signal calls , only in normal calls they are working properly.@@ExplainingAndroid

Hello friends, my Pixel 7 has cellar network connection issues. During the call sometimes I can't hear another persons voice or just It hanging out call by itself. So does anybody knows what time will arrive new update/upgrade for this phone's? Someone told me before that new update should fix this issues, but update arrival time is unknown for me. Unfortunately today we have reality that Chinese phones are working better than US ones, it's shame of Google!

I haven't had any issue with my pixel buds a series but Android's bluetooth service in general can be bad (iOS too)
My pixel 7 has made me an iphone user, i hate that phone so much that i switched sides.

don't miss this (like I did): when pairing headphones, take these steps -
1. make sure bluetooth is on for your pixel phone
2. navigate to the "pair new device" button and click on that
3. as your phone is scanning your environment for devices to pair, turn your headphones on
4. (step I missed) HOLD THE ON/OFF BUTTON ON YOUR HEAD PHONES DOWN UNTIL IT GOES INTO PAIRING MODE
5. you should now see your head phones finally show up on devices your pixel phone can pair with
6. click on "pair"
"Turn it off and on again"
Yeah like that ever works.
...Only it did bloody work this time! Pre-reboot, only 'WH1000-XM3' showed up and while it 'paired' it wouldn't connect. Post-reboot, the expected 'LE_WH1000-XM3' appeared. Paired and connected instantly.
Seriously nuts how these things work out. I've been pairing and unpairing for ages, wracking my brain as to why it won't just shut up and connect. Even tried connecting via NFC and via the Sony App with no luck. All it needed was a simple reboot, god damn it.
Rebooting the phone never works. Just never.
it may not have worked for you, but many comments here on the channel have shown that to help fix the issue. it won't fix it for everyone (which is why I offer so many suggestions)
