This documentary shows the Nuremberg Nazi Party Rally Grounds as it was used before, during and after the Nazi era and still attracts thousands of visitors every year. It explains the purpose of the buildings and squares during the Nazi dictatorship and how they are still used today. Nuremberg is the city of the Nazi Party and the place of proclamation of the Nuremberg Race Laws and the scene of the war crimes trials.
The Nazi Party Rally Grounds has been a listed building since 1973 as a testimony to the architecture of National Socialism. Nuremberg is a city like few other cities with a historical legacy from the National Socialists. There are still buildings of immense proportions from the former Nazi Party Rally Grounds.
The documentation not only conveys background knowledge, but also insights into the violent structures, explains what has been structurally planned and implemented. Basic symbols of the Nazi era are also explained. In addition to historical filming, excursion tips, sights such as the Christkindlesmarkt, Tiergarten, museums and the old town of Nuremberg are shown. The Nuremberg Babette von Roggi guides you through the documentation.
This film documentary shows the Nazi Party Rally Grounds in Nuremberg. The film also shows the violent structures from above, from the air and goes inside where visitors cannot get. Scenes of violence
Doors opened, some of which had been closed for years and had been reopened for a long time for the first time. It will probably be the last pictures of how the site and the buildings are in their current condition. The party convention center will be rebuilt and renovated in the near future. Perhaps some contemporary witnesses will disappear and will then no longer be accessible.
We tell fates and enjoyable stories. The film documentation deals with many questions that have been asked and have not been answered. You will be surprised what and who is still in the congress hall today. How many floors the congress hall really has.
What is inside the stone grandstand? Really just the “Golden Hall? What is the story behind the two fire bowls that stood on the corner pylons? What was and is housed in the 34 field towers today? The stone relics hide a lot of stories.
The film documentation aims to convey knowledge about the Nazi era in Nuremberg and provide answers to questions about history. In contrast to the numerous memorials that commemorate the victims in concentration camps and prisons, the Nazi Party Rally Grounds is a place of the perpetrators.
There is a story behind every monument.
The first party congress of the NSDAP took place in Munich in January 1923. Since 1927, the mass events have taken place in Nuremberg. Adolf Hitler then designated Nuremberg in 1933 officially as the “City of the Nazi Party”. The party congresses were used to present the Nazis. Up to 1 million visitors then came to the annual propaganda productions, which always took place in September. Large events were the most effective means of propaganda for the nationalists at the time.
The Second Party Congress did not take place until 1926 in Weimar. In the meantime, Hitler tried to seize power with the Munich coup, but failed. He was arrested and there were no further party conventions. When he was released early, he was banned from speaking in Bavaria, so the party congress was held in Weimar in 1926. In 1927 and 1929 Nuremberg was chosen as the party conference location. Since there were violent clashes with the population at the party conference, the party was then banned from 1930 and 1931 in Nuremberg. In 1932 the party simply lacked the money to hold a party convention.
When Adolf Hitler called the city of Nuremberg the "City of the Nazi Party Congress" in August 1933, the party congress also got a motto and a name:
    1933 - Nazi Party Rally
1934 - Nazi Party Rally of Unity and Strength
1935 - Nazi Party Rally for Freedom
1936 - Nazi Party Rally of Honor
    1937 - Labor Party Rally
1938 - Nazi Party Rally, Greater Germany
1939 - Reich Party Rally, but this no longer took place due to the outbreak of the Second World War.
