Hi Steve, Are the cameras in this video all set up VIA hardwired connection or WiFi? I have a Ctronics WiFi camera and I can use the Ctronics Android App but the PC software (P2P Client) never detects my camera at all. Any Ideas sir?
I use a 4TB hard drive which can hold 6 months worth of 3 cctv cameras at 1080p so I just delete the older files every so often. In settings there should be a way to get it to delete older files or overwrite them automatically though

On your right camera between the "sound icon" & "recording icon" you have a small red icon that looks like a webcam. What exactly is that icon? I have 2 camera's but only one stream lights up that icon. Thanks
That is an american style fire station alarm, when its red it means it has detected movement inthe frame. If you have your camera set up to only record when there is movement then it will only record when that red alarm shows. I have bushes and trees in my video that constantly set off the red icon so just leave the camera recording 24/7. If you go into the Config cog, then click on Parameter Settings, click on your camera, click on Alarm Setting, you can then toggle it on or off, the sensitivity and the recording options mate

@@DeanoEssex In Config, Other Settings, there is a 'Booting the system automatically run the program' But when I click on it i get a message of Registration Failed. Maybe you will have better luck? (crappy program..) lol
@@flaxvert Yes it is surely a poor program. I have just started using it and it crashes, it stops recording on its own and i have to manually click record. I have Security Monitor Pro 6 but one of my cameras is not recognised by this program which is why i used the P2P Client. Mine also says Registration Failed when i click that option. I'm gonna mess about with my Security Pro app to get this new camera to connect. That HiCam P2P app is shockingly crap lol. I appreciate your help Steve, Thank You :-)

Hi, if you click on the settings cog (top middle) Then on 'record managenent' you can select a different drive or change how much GB space is left free. I am wondering if you have less than 10GB space? I've not seen where a time limit can be set though

Very helpful video. I've spent a lot of time trying to work things out on this software and figured out most of what I wanted it to do, while slowly discovering what it can't do and getting very frustrated with it. No instructions I ever found were clear on a lot of things. Nice job mate.
I'm pleased the video helped mate. I have tried so many other ip camera recorders but this is by far the easiest to work with. And it isn't exactly easy as we know are finding out!
Thanks for the video man. So frustrated with the phone app i have for my cameras which recommends this as the desktop version. I can't get either to record video to my FTP server, but when I do the test, the test image ends up on there. Doesn't make sense!

A small window opens above the time adjustment for alarm duration and I pick 30 mins and save but it still only records the default of 5 mins. Any thoughts please? I also get no zoom in function. Looks very easy however it's not. When I click the green plus button it shows 2 of my cameras but not the third camera I just installed . I can see the third camera on my phone app, Ctronics Pro, but not on the laptop app. Even tried to add it manually and keep getting an error, failure to connect. Lousy documentation.
Try holding the reset button on the camera for 8 seconds or so, that may make it detectable on your computer. I had the same issue with my garden cam where the phone app could see it but not the PC, turned out it was an IP conflict. A hard reset sorted it, although I had to disable my VPN software to add the camera. CTronics could make a fortune if they just paid more attention to the software side and gave us a direct way to chat with them One other thought, try disabling windows firewall temporarily as that can cause issues
Good info. I'm having some problems with the software. When I change the resolution settings and framerates, they don't save properly. If I switch to a different camera setup and then back to the previous one, the settings go back to lower resolution and framerates. Any idea how to fix this?
I have the same issue fella, I think its just a limitation of either our cameras or the out dated app. I trudge on with the app until i find a better free one :)
I can access my cams anywhere in the world over mobile data. I initially set it up at home over wifi then the app knows the IP of the cameras so as long as you have any internet you can view your cams
You can go into Config, Record Management and change it to AVI which can be played via VLC or most other players. Media Player Classic will play h264 files although they play at twice the speed so not good.
I totally agree the software is shite mate, a lot of settings on my setup such as bitrate and frame rate dont save either. I will continue using it though until i discover a better alternative.

I am having issues with this software. All worked fine until last week. But tried to check out some footage, and lost connection with cam, and since then, no longer does this software find it. When you click search, mine finds nothing. Been trying for over a week to fix it, getting nowhere. Any tips, or complete easy to follow setup guide, so I can find whats going wrong.

I just started using this client software but am not interested in continuous recording. Having a devil of a time trying to find the combination of settings that will just record video when motion is detected. So far cannot be done. Most of the time I just let the camera save to the SD card when not connected but do not want it to fill up with continuous recordings. What am I missing? Thanks for the vid just the same.

Greeting. I have ctronics 380c 4mp cameras. I noticed that the frame rate is quite low, 7 drops to only 4. The problem is when I watch the live transmission of the image, when someone passes by, the image seems to slow down a bit, lag,... Which ctronics camera model do you use and what do you think is the best model without being too expensive? If you have perhaps another suggestion with another brand that works well on Windows, I would be grateful. Thanks in advance
My neighbour has a fixed Ctronics camera and that lags the same way yours does. When I run the HiP2P software it seems to disable the screensaver. I suppose it makes sense with a monitoring app, but do you know of a way to allow the screensaver to run?
I don't unfortunately. I never use a screen saver though, I have my PC hooked up through HDMI to a 4K 50 inch LED TV that doesn't seem to suffer with burn-in, so no need for a screen saver. It is on at least 8 hours a day for 3 years now normally showing a windows 10 desktop.
You can't. The screens are square so its either one, 4, 16 and so on. You can though change it so you can see one large screen and a few small ones. Bottom right of your cameras screen click on the icon that looks like 4 boxes :)

Sorry mate, no idea. I have had a look through the settings and info online but apart from a few posts that state the camera may not be a PTZ one there is not much more info to go on.
Sorry I can't help out more mate, I made the video for myself as I have the same issues each time i change broadband providers so needed to know what i did last time. A VPN will cause issues, as can windows firewall so you may need to disable those temporarily

I had the same problem, so finally connected the cameras via ethernet cables and it's fine. With wifi, It doesn't want to know.

You can't do it in the app, but you can manually unscrew the camera and turn it 90 degrees. If its similar to the bullet cam i used to have.

That's strange, is the camera defo compatible with the above software? Is the camera plugged via ethernet into your router too?

Dated software, but no problems with it. One thing, could I access the camera (4G) on this software wherever I am simply with the UID?

@@flaxvert best thing is just to buy an NVR and let it do the work...as much i love the pc software ... for this job an nvr is needed

How do I connect the camera to the computer in the first place?
Connect an ethernet cable (cat-5 or cat-6) from the camera to your router, then connect your computer to the router via wifi or ethernet cable

You can view a maximum of 16 cameras on screen at once, just click the 4 squares icon at the bottom right (looks like the Windows logo)
