I’ve fished that spot for nearly 50 years. It is one of my faves! Over the years just about one of every kind of fish was hooked there. The spot has thrilled many of my guests.

Thanks, it was a good one for sure. I release almost 99% of the over slot reds we catch as long as they're healthy after the battle.

My dad was from Natchitoches, LA, the sportsman's paradise. He wasn't much of a sportsman, bless his heart. After a disastrous day on Lake Sommerville in Texas, our rented boat with no motor (our Aunt sent us all to camp, no motor needed, just paddles) was towed in by some nice people with a motor(white caps on the lake). Bank fishing from then on. I was maybe 10 or 12 years old. I found a dead croppie, eyes were white, hooked it and cast it cast it back out. I yelled at my Dad from down the bank "I caught one"! He ran down the bank and taught me to stick my thumb in his mouth and twist, this rendered the motionless fish motionless. He was proud, so proud. Forgive me, Dad, I was a rotten kid.
We go fishing and snorkeling there all the time. It’s usually just for bait when we’re going offshore.
I live up in the mountains and it is beautiful here, but I enjoy you and your channel for the same reason. You live in a beautiful area and it is nice to take a virtual trip to the beach or out in the gulf. Thanks for bringing us along.

@@BamaSaltwater caught one around that size off the beach over here last year while fishing for jacks. It was hell getting her on the sand, she didn’t want the beach. I can’t imagine trying to net her solo, glad to see her hit the deck and get released though. You’ve been crushing it 💪🏽

You should set up an online store.. for people like me who don’t know what is what. Like a laminated guide for all the fish in certain areas for a reference. Best bait to use for each fish… newbies like me don’t know and it would be super helpful. Thanks, really enjoy your vids.

November of 2014 I caught a 710 lb Mako fishing in that spot. I was using a live Lizard fish for bait.
We caught some blues and sheep head right there

Thanks, and there's been plenty of good fishing in the surf. Bring some spoons/jigs, bring some fishbites/bottom rigs, and definitely some top waters if you can get a calmer day.

i was screaming in my head when u were power housing it at the end with that 15 pound leader i thought u were gonna snap it u got lucky lol. and i wouldve backed off the drag at the boat cuz if it took off there wouldnt be anything to absorb the shock that close. awesome catch tho
