Nice brother…I’ve got a mackie 12 ch that’s been sittin in the corner just givin me dirty looks for yrs…loaned it out a few times, not sure why, but just HAD ta hold on to it….maybe this is why… Thanks man.
Excellent. Confirms my experiences with running digital synths/stuff through analog boxes (like filters) or mixers. Night and day. thanks for the amusing video also :)
Most of this is about driving the channels in the analog domain and getting shaved off peaks and distortion. I do the same thing with an overdrive pedal and running signals to do that. Alot of the music we love from back in the day has that vibe because they were using mackies
I was just thinking about getting my old old mixer out to test! If you wanted to send a stereo signal through mono channels, would it work sending the left to one mono and right to the other mono and hard panning them respectively? Thanks!
Bro your voice and narration was the funniest thing I heard. Man I was in stitches. "Covid weight" hahaha. I have a Behringer mixer so I will try this with it. Look forward to your next video mate.
So you played it louder in the mixer ? Right? You were in analog and you could clip, cause you can break zero in analo, right? Then you lowered the master fader going back into UAD console, right? Just making sure I am getting this. I saw a video were Dave Pensado purposely broke zero in Digital and did exactly that lowered the output equed the track differently and then summed the two digital tracks. At least that was my understanding of What he was doing. I hope I got that right? Also there's a tutorial with Yared Nevo where he basically states that digital is better in certain aspects and that he believes that it will only get better by that I think I understood him as meaning a clearer or cleaner signal. The opposite of warmth and analog clipping or distortion. I think continue to mix the two and somewhere down the line we all find something that's sonically pleasing to us. Hopefully what we like as mixers the crowd likes. I think that's the whole game. We are giving them a piece of us, or our personal tastes as Dave said. We all lucky to have both the old and the new tech. Peace and Blessings!
Audio comparison would've been nice

The cable ties makes your mix sound better.
Would love to see a summing video to see how you hooked it up
I am a recent convert to analog summing and have also been experimenting with my soundcraft desk to do it. So... Timely video. Shot bro
dude, lets hear it!
Great tip, going to try that!
You are pretty good at comedy actually
Have you try doing the same thing with the Apollo? You can use the neve plug in on the way in…🚛

Really would like to see you hook it up
It’s not the summing you’re hearing, it’s the distortion.

I heard the magic of analogue summing might be in the crosstalk. But this is all theoretical.
Now try a real summing mixer you will be blown away I got the neve plus api5500 and dangerous compressor pure beef
COVID weight 👍
i unsubbed because you ditched the SP16. I'll be damned. But i checked this one out.
It’s 99% coming back
