Was wondering what to do if knife attacker cautiously doesn't fully commit to a powerful direct knife stab or slash initially but before trying to execute a damaging blow he trys to circle you while making fast, short, retractive small cuts to your arms?

One of the very few Martin arts videos that makes any sense. The only problem I have is what if your opponent pushes you very hard and you are pushed back a lot further than shown in this video? I'd love to see Idan do a video like this.
The point of the video is not punch or kick when somebody pushes you, you always have to think in the worst scenary, you have to control first.
But in have a question, will you be able to grab the neck of an attacker with full agression?.
Plus, what if the push was explosive and unpredictable? What do you recommend?
Yes you can do it, but remember, in this video Idan is talking about the moment before the fight begin, of course you can take the back of the attacker during the fight.

Saludos, efectivamente si pensamos en un niño defendiéndose de un adulto no podemos mentir o inventar técnicas mágicas para hacerlo, se le enseña a un niño a sobrevivir, ya con un adolescente la situación podría mejorar pero siempre va a ser muy difícil, entrenar bajo estrés a un adolescente le enseña a resolver lo mejor posible estas situaciones, no digo que va a salir ileso porque eso es imposible para cualquiera, así sea un adulto, se trata de hacer lo imposible para sobrevivir y si va a fallar que lo haga en clase para que entienda lo difícil y peligroso que es un enfrentamiento en calle.

Opponents own body is in the way. Look at the mechanics of it, he is controlling his whole body through the arm, not just the arm. Maybe he can land but not in a position to do damage with free arm.
