"It was known that the world fell... that most people in it... died. No one will suffer the hardships from the terrible world which remains... Those born into this hell, have no remembrance of any of it at all... but those who survived... those who are truly broken.... They know what was once before..........."
Hm, I remember when I tried this game out of sheer curiosity just 2 years ago. This game just grew on me since then. Unlike some critics who call this game boring and such, I rarely had a boring time with it. Maybe when it came to clearing every scrap area and Minefields in each zone so there's nothing left, but other than that... such a damn good time. Even when I recently replayed it I had a friggin' great time with it. It ain't perfect, sure. But for what it is... it's friggin' great. This ambient though... it just feels so haunting yet relaxing. I adore it so much.
At first I thought so... but after some hours into it I can't really say it is that great. The open world doesn't reward you for exploring and the driving mechanics are way off.
Such intense melancholy. The airport is my favorite part of the map. To see great ships and flying machines we'll never build again, rusting forever as the last of man fades away. Orange sunlight pouring into a cathedral; a family's home now still and lifeless, buried beneath the sand. I think about all the satellites stranded in orbit, the ISS, empty forever. Our flag on the moon marking the permanent apex of human achievement. This world would tempt me to leave it, but I think I'd stay just to see more. It's insane how well this music summarizes a feeling I struggle to put into few words but share with all of you. There is an exaggerated, morbid beauty only this game pulls off to such perfection. Those who survived, they are the truly broken. For they know what was before.
This game made me think a lot about the future, I tell myself that our world could look like that of mad max one day or another. In the game, I go from time to time in the airport Area, seeing the planes still on the runway, worn out by the sand and the sun, which never took off . There are also the wrecks of submarines that can be found in remote areas of the Map, I always wondered if it was enemy submarines that parked when the water Was at its normal level, they had to launch their nuclear missiles on the surrounding cities and oil refineries .
Don't use the map- just pick a direction and wander. Don't use the minimap- look at the beautiful barren vistas and weep dry tears for the world. Live the way he does- mile after mile of anguish and torment. You'll find your plains at the end- if you survive.
I do the same with FUEL (if you do not know, it is a post apocalyptic racing game) It is not a perfect game, many things can be improved, but I love the environment and lose myself on the map without further ado, traveling kilometers is amazing )
Spoilers below. Before finishing Mad Max: Wow, this guy's pretty badass and likes to kick ass. After finishing the story: Ohh.. Damn.. A mentally tortured soul... Now I understand why it's so dark... I hope you find the Plains of Silence after all that.
I appreciate it! I'd suggest you to check out this one. ua-cam.com/video/e0h09RpeMSY/v-deo.html it's from Grand Theft Auto V. Personally, that's my favorite one.
It's so simple. Just a slow back and forth between the F key and the G key and sometimes the E key, yet it's so compelling. It so accurately conveys the saga, the pain, the memories, sometimes the happiness, but only dimly so, and the lingering regret of the state of man.
An incredible game... very underrated. So eerily haunting, so many places that stick to memory... Imagine, it came out in 2015 and 9 years later, it hasn't been surpassed in its category. Where many people saw faults, I only see merits. Besides, there's nothing goofy/ silly about it, and the ambience plus the *most ferocious storm* in ANY game allows you to ponder deeply while playing, sinking in that a post-apocalyptic world is no joke.
How are you getting a skyrim vibe from this? I really wanna know. Yes there are some ambient songs in skyrim the closest being Silent Footsteps but nothing is quite like this song. I really wanna know how you got that
i need peace, to find peace i must reach the Plains of Silence. to get to the Plains of Silance i need a vehicle as good as the Black on Black.....Or Better:

The game is underestimated and undervalued.

@@VitalMusic217 I agree. But it is the only Mad Max game we have... if ever...

when i think about it this game is the most dark brutal game realistically depicting life after the apocalypse no humor no jokes no love
Nikola Andonovski damn.
@@VoyagerLife826 Ikr, it captures the hopelessness part pretty well, IMO Mad Max has the best post-apocalyptic setting.

This game REALLY made me want to drink water
Do not, my friends, become addicted to water. It will take hold of you. And you will resent its absence.
Whenever I'm traveling and need to rest, I put this ambient music on repeat. Works every time. Thank you

My third best game of all time!! A masterpiece, sorely underappreciated. Bring on the apocalypse and let us cross the plains of silence.
This is beautiful.
