Morning Jami - I am so relieved for you, that you could see how well your horses adapted at being at J♥️L Ranch. I could hear the pain it was causing your ‘heart and soul’, at the thought of moving your ‘heart and soul’ babies, but it must ease that dread at seeing how much they seem to be exhilarated at being moved to where they are. I know that you realize you did the right thing, the *only* thing, to truly protect the horses and pony but that won’t stop you from missing their presence at LHL’s. Just remember, when you are having those private talks that we all have in our heads, to talk to yourself the same way you would talk to a dear friend or a loved one facing what you are right now at LHL’s - I know you would use encouraging words, you would be understanding of their feelings and offer strength and support, at the situation they find themselves in - You need to say those exact words and show yourself that same grace and kindness to ‘you’ and remember it’s never a failure until you decide to stop trying. I agree !!! I would only add is that it makes me so sad to see your beautiful property so damaged. It must be overwhelming to think of the work that is ahead. I’m so glad that the property around your home and outbuildings seems to be intact so that you do have a place at LHL to rest and find comfort. The place at J💕L is actually perfect horse pasture. Horses love to run ! I was so pleased to see how well they handled the move and I’m sure that a big part of that is that they were all together in their herd. I was surprised that they were galloping and didn’t really cut loose. Lester don’t freak out when they do it 😊

Jami, give yourself a break. Trauma after trauma after disaster… You need a break! The horses and pony will think it is a slumber party. Tons of grass, high ground… It will be a blessing.
Jamie,my paw has 23 horses. One died when both of his two ponds collapsed,after rains. Washing his sons 3 year old stallion down with the water into the river,the pond water break was that powerful. I am glad you're moving them. Paw had the vet check his 22 horses after the next day. The horse vet said horses need at least a week to decompress. All the stress and settle the gases in the horses stomachs. See your pond. Imagine a third gone and more holes, like them cracks. My paws property was like that. It cost him over half a million to fix two ponds when I asked my uncle. Plus 83 truck loads of clay. He also had to pay 15 grand in land people coming. I don't know the proper names of the jobs. Your doing the right thing you need time to decompress too.
The damage is much worse than I imagined. It’s like the ground is just disappearing. I am so sorry this has happened. Thankful you, Lester and the animals are o.k. and have a safe place to go to.
I know it has to break your heart, Jami, to see the beautiful LHL ravaged by flood water. I pray the levy holds until you and Lester can get someone out to help rebuild the property. Thank goodness the Littles and Middles are safe in the other pastures.❤
God put the J&L in your path for these very days I believe. Also he may have been revealing those dangerous area so no animals would be hurt in the future by sinking holes or such. I don’t know. We may never know but the horses are safe and look so happy at their vacation home. Where there is Struggle there is Strength. You and Lester have been thru a lot and you still carry on with Love, compassion & caring more for others selflessly. May God continue to protect you ,Lester, all the family & critters. I know that this was a very difficult decision and I'm sorry. Please don't think everything has to be perfect to bring them home. Horses are incredibly smart and I've road them over some very treacherous trails up in the mountains. The trails have big crevices to conquer, large rocks that they have to maneuver around and over, narrow trails with steep drop offs, and heavy rain and hail storms that come out of no where. Horses handle this stuff like champs and aren't given enough credit at times for how smart they really are. My 40+ years of owning, riding, and training them tells me that you will be able to bring them home sooner than expected. Don't worry so much about there feet being wet. A little daily maintenance keeping their hooves clean and putting products on that will help dry the hooves when needed is all they need. Standing in wet areas aren't ideal but they can handle it with a little bit of help.
Jami, I love you and Lester, your entire extended family and, of course, the animals we all love so much. My impulse is always to help others whenever possible, but I don't know how to help in this terrible situation other than to offer encouragement and prayers. Thank goodness you have J&L Ranch although you realize that it is stressful for the animals to be moving from place to place. There just is no choice. As someone who has loved horses my entire 70+ years, I totally understand how hard this is for you. Bless you and God be with you. Better days are ahead.
Norma here. God certainly does work in mysterious ways. Imagine if you and Lester hadn’t purchased the LHL property or the JL property. So far, both of those properties offer you safe havens for the animals. I know it’s heartbreaking for you to need to move the horses, but it’s the only solution you have right now. I’m so sorry that there is so much destruction of the land, but thankfully you and Lester are able to fix it. It will be very expensive I’m sure and require time and effort, but we know you will both do whatever needs to be done. Before long, all your horses will be back where they belong. In the meantime, be happy knowing that they will be safe at the JL ranch and you can keep a close eye on them there. Sending prayers.
The wisdom/investment, you and Lester have used in your expansions to the sanctuary with these two properties has proven to be so fruitful. Two completely completely and totally different looking properties. They have saved so many lives already . The fact that you both saw / planned for potential problems in the future, and worked on that the basis, has paid off so well.
Who would've thought that the safe haven you bought for the longhorns would become the calm in the storm for everybody. LHL's is such a beautiful place, and mother nature has wreaked her havoc on it.

Let me help you find a great civil engineering firm in the Houston area. Most of them work for developers, and oil companies, but there are bound to be a few that specialize in wetlands and ranches. I am grateful that you have another place to take the horses and Ivy. It's it going to be a lot of work to stabilize the ground in the pasture, fix the pond dam, bring in good topsoil and get some deep rooted pasture grass growing again. But your horses will be safe while you work. 💖💖💖

Jami the best decision isn't always the easiest, you made the right best to have them go to JL when it is safer for them . I know your heart is hurting to having them with where you are . Mother Nature is on one hopefully done for while , you will make it easier on horses & pony for easy standing shelter etc . Good morning. It is not defeat. It is never has happened before. You all haven’t had any calm in over 3 years. 2 years of drought and more than torrential rains. I’m so proud of you guys for having the foresight to look for another property last year. This is just a terrible disaster . It’s good the babies all went back to Morrow Hill before this hit. This property just seems like it’s taking so much of your money but nothing is permanently fixed. I’m so glad you have the JL for everyone if needed. That is your saving grace. God knew you would be needing that property and made it happen. I pray everyday for all your family and you and Jamie. Just watched video of Lester talking with LE and asking the question how much is enough ? I love looking out at LHL'S and seeing all that has gone into it to make it the place it is. But seeing how mother nature is destroying all that hard work breaks my heart. I hope and pray that this place can be saved because watching the horses running down the hill and swimming in the pond is just breath taking to watch!!
Oh I do feel this is so heartbreaking. Each time you have bought a property I have wondered abit to myself why you are spreading out further. Then it ends up saving animals during drought, saving animals during floods… how amazing that you have been blessed with such forethought. I have no doubt all will work exactly as it needs to. I have zero doubt the water issues at LHLs will be handled. Of course we all wish such problems did not exist. The challenges might seem overwhelming. This is when Jami's 'Grace Under Pressure' will always shine. I have no skills re such challenges. No doubt Jami's research and due diligence always lead to amazing results.

I've been so worried about the land at LHL's long before this seasons storms. I noticed the erosion on the hill where Lester walks the littles last year, and it showed signs of eroding quickly. Thank god you have somewhere else to take them. I know how much this breaks your heart but you always put their interest first. I'm so sorry you guys are dealing with this. Things will get better. Gosh it feels like Tx has been getting rain for months! Poor babies are scared & not understanding WTHeck is going on. Thankfully they have u & Lester who take such good care of them. I always worry about the snakes getting all the fur babies including horses & longhorns ...just EVERY FUR BABY...UGH Prayers the rain will stop & give everyone affected by it relief 🙏🏽

As an elderly person who lost everything five times in my lifetime I learned that if I embrace the negativity I lose my health. If I understand that this is a destined journey and although it's horrific, when I came out on the other side of the event everything was even better than before. Prepare for morrow hill animals now for just in case.

A blessing indeed, I know it's hard to see, but to see the horses after they get delivered to the Ranch, they took off and looked so pretty at the J&L..... Now let the work begin bc maybe your insurance should cover all of the damages, but I get it completely, Jami. My heart breaks for all you all are going through, but you are doing what is best for the horses and pony. Voo looks exhausted and over it. While you think the JL is not where you want it to be for the babies as yet, they will be safe there, it will give them time to get real rest and they do not have to hear the pump running or see the destruction of their home, and it will make it easier for you and Lester to go through the pasture and do the repairs that you are able to do. Seeing them all at the JL running in the pasture brought tears of joy to my eyes, you could see the relief in their eyes. It sucks that they will not be out the front door when you walk out, however, you being the great mom that you are, you did what was best for them.
Jami, it is not DEFEAT, you an predict the unknown. This is beyond your control. Mother nature has play havoc on the property, Moving the horses and pony to another property is a blessing to have that place to available. Do blame yourself, in the long run they will be okay.

Jami, praise God you have a safer JL property to move the horses to. Hopefully you will see the benefits of leaving the horses at the JL ranch. The land is flat, barns there, grass plentiful and they already seem so much happier there. It may be time to consider selling LHL property that has so many erosion problems and build your safer forever home at the JL property. Hurricane season starts in June, more hard rain will come for sure come. I would start downsizing your goats, ostriches etc. to find better forever homes for them. Just imagine how much simpler your lives would be to have only one property where all your animals could live with you and be safe, well fed and happy like they would be at the JL Ranch. But even though I know this video is playing after the fact since you already have them over at the J and L. So thankful you have that property to move them to. I hear that you’re heartbroken but you are 1,000% doing the right thing for the horses. One wrong move and someone’s leg could break and that would be comparatively catastrophic. You ARE doing the right thing and I’m so grateful that you care about your four-legged babies so deeply. ❤
Your going to be ok Jami, you have angels watching over you and the babies. Never feel bad for doing the right thing for them, their safety is #1. I had to live in a FEMA camper for 2.5 years while we went through red tape to build another house after Katrina. You got this, the JL was placed in your path for a reason, safe refuge and lush grass. I know that JL doesnt have internet, a suggestion from me is go to a TMobile and get their internet, they use ATT towers and they are portable, can take it anywhere. It also is only $50 a month. I work for a Jeep dealership in St Louis, not T-MOBILE 😂. You can work from JL if you have to! I'm so sorry this is happening to you all but you two always see the caution and make things safer. Prayers for easy rebuild of the land and grass. Your all going to be ok! 😇👼🏼
The washouts might be a blessing in disguise. That area diverted water away from the pond to bypass the pressure onto your earthen dam. Challanges have never eluded either one of you. Stay strong,. You all are in our prayers.

I could hear the pain it was causing your ‘heart and soul’, at the thought of moving your ‘heart and soul’ babies, but it must ease that dread at seeing how much they seem to be exhilarated at being moved to where they are. I know that you realize you did the right thing, the *only* thing, to truly protect the horses and pony
but that won’t stop you from missing their presence at LHL’s. Just remember, when you are having those private talks that we all have in our heads, to talk to yourself the same way you would talk to a dear friend or a loved one facing what you are right now at LHL’s - I know you would use encouraging words, you would be understanding of their feelings and offer strength and support, at the situation they find themselves in - You need to say those exact words and show yourself that same grace and kindness to ‘you’ and remember it’s never a failure until you decide to stop trying. I’m so glad that the property around your home and outbuildings seems to be intact so that you do have a place at LHL to rest and find comfort. The place at J💕L is actually perfect horse pasture. Horses love to run ! I was so pleased to see how well they handled the move and I’m sure that a big part of that is that they were all together in their herd. I was surprised that they were galloping and didn’t really cut loose. Lester don’t freak out when they do it 😊

Jamie,my paw has 23 horses. One died when both of his two ponds collapsed,after rains. Washing his sons 3 year old stallion down with the water into the river,the pond water break was that powerful. I am glad you're moving them. Paw had the vet check his 22 horses after the next day. The horse vet said horses need at least a week to decompress. All the stress and settle the gases in the horses stomachs. See your pond. Imagine a third gone and more holes, like them cracks. My paws property was like that. It cost him over half a million to fix two ponds when I asked my uncle. Plus 83 truck loads of clay. He also had to pay 15 grand in land people coming. I don't know the proper names of the jobs. Your doing the right thing you need time to decompress too.

I know that this was a very difficult decision and I'm sorry. Please don't think everything has to be perfect to bring them home. Horses are incredibly smart and I've road them over some very treacherous trails up in the mountains. The trails have big crevices to conquer, large rocks that they have to maneuver around and over, narrow trails with steep drop offs, and heavy rain and hail storms that come out of no where. Horses handle this stuff like champs and aren't given enough credit at times for how smart they really are. My 40+ years of owning, riding, and training them tells me that you will be able to bring them home sooner than expected. Don't worry so much about there feet being wet. A little daily maintenance keeping their hooves clean and putting products on that will help dry the hooves when needed is all they need. Standing in wet areas aren't ideal but they can handle it with a little bit of help.
Jami, I love you and Lester, your entire extended family and, of course, the animals we all love so much. My impulse is always to help others whenever possible, but I don't know how to help in this terrible situation other than to offer encouragement and prayers. Thank goodness you have J&L Ranch although you realize that it is stressful for the animals to be moving from place to place. There just is no choice. As someone who has loved horses my entire 70+ years, I totally understand how hard this is for you. Bless you and God be with you. Better days are ahead.

God certainly does work in mysterious ways. Imagine if you and Lester hadn’t purchased the LHL property or the JL property. So far, both of those properties offer you safe havens for the animals. I know it’s heartbreaking for you to need to move the horses, but it’s the only solution you have right now.
I’m so sorry that there is so much destruction of the land, but thankfully you and Lester are able to fix it. It will be very expensive I’m sure and require time and effort, but we know you will both do whatever needs to be done. Before long, all your horses will be back where they belong. In the meantime, be happy knowing that they will be safe at the JL ranch and you can keep a close eye on them there.

This is just a terrible disaster . It’s good the babies all went back to Morrow Hill before this hit. This property just seems like it’s taking so much of your money but nothing is permanently fixed. Just watched video of Lester talking with LE and asking the question how much is enough ? I love looking out at LHL'S and seeing all that has gone into it to make it the place it is. But seeing how mother nature is destroying all that hard work breaks my heart. I hope and pray that this place can be saved because watching the horses running down the hill and swimming in the pond is just breath taking to watch!!

Oh I do feel this is so heartbreaking. Each time you have bought a property I have wondered abit to myself why you are spreading out further. Then it ends up saving animals during drought, saving animals during floods… how amazing that you have been blessed with such forethought. I have no doubt all will work exactly as it needs to. I have zero doubt the water issues at LHLs will be handled. Of course we all wish such problems did not exist. The challenges might seem overwhelming. I've been so worried about the land at LHL's long before this seasons storms. I noticed the erosion on the hill where Lester walks the littles last year, and it showed signs of eroding quickly. Thank god you have somewhere else to take them. I know how much this breaks your heart but you always put their interest first. I'm so sorry you guys are dealing with this. Things will get better. Jami, this year has been CRAZY for the farmers and ranchers State wide! I live up here in Bell County and we have been having flash flooding with EVERY rain. Nothing like y'all, but still not normal!

As an elderly person who lost everything five times in my lifetime I learned that if I embrace the negativity I lose my health. If I understand that this is a destined journey and although it's horrific, when I came out on the other side of the event everything was even better than before. A blessing indeed, I know it's hard to see, but to see the horses after they get delivered to the Ranch, they took off and looked so pretty at the J&L.....

Jami you have done what’s best for the horse’s and the pony. I feel so bad for you! I saw you posts where you had already moved the horses and they were so happy and the post were Stormy was getting the must needed rest. You’ll get them set up in good time. I know what they want most is you! Glad

My heart breaks for all you all are going through, but you are doing what is best for the horses and pony. Voo looks exhausted and over it. While you think the JL is not where you want it to be for the babies as yet, they will be safe there, it will give them time to get real rest and they do not have to hear the pump running or see the destruction of their home, and it will make it easier for you and Lester to go through the pasture and do the repairs that you are able to do. Seeing them all at the JL running in the pasture brought tears of joy to my eyes, you could see the relief in their eyes. It sucks that they will not be out the front door when you walk out, however, you being the great mom that you are, you did what was best for them.
Jami, it is not DEFEAT, you an predict the unknown. This is beyond your control. Mother nature has play havoc on the property, Moving the horses and pony to another property is a blessing to have that place to available. Do blame yourself, in the long run they will be okay.
Well good Sunday morning Jami. I am glad you got all the horses & pony moved to the J&L. I know what I am about to say both of you don't want to here but maybe think about selling Longhorn Lester's & build at J&L & move there. I pray that if or when the bank lets go and the pond empties there are no pigs of other animals in the river on the other side get washed away. I am sad for you all and pray for the rain to stop and ground to dry enough to fix the area before the water all washes away
Jami, praise God you have a safer JL property to move the horses to. Hopefully you will see the benefits of leaving the horses at the JL ranch. The land is flat, barns there, grass plentiful and they already seem so much happier there. It may be time to consider selling LHL property that has so many erosion problems and build your safer forever home at the JL property. Hurricane season starts in June, more hard rain will come for sure come. I would start downsizing your goats, ostriches etc. to find better forever homes for them. Just imagine how much simpler your lives would be to have only one property where all your animals could live with you and be safe, well fed and happy like they would be at the JL Ranch. Sell LHL and make your life much better at the JL ranch. Respectfully suggested. May God protect and bless your family. #movetosaferplace
This dang rain. I know how defeating it must feel. You've waited forever to have all your horse babies on the same property as you and now this...Ugh!! But even though I know this video is playing after the fact since you already have them over at the J and L. So thankful you have that property to move them to. I pray they can get the spillway fixed along with the other erosion issues fixed quickly and grass grows quickly to where you can get them back home with you. Hugs and love sent your way.
I can't even imagine what the two of you are going through. I just am so grateful that you have each other. Individually you both are so very strong and resourceful, but together you and Lester can conquer anything. You make an amazing team! I can only imagine how defeated you must feel, but I know in my heart that you both can and will do what is necessary to repair the damage at LHL's. I hear that you’re heartbroken but you are 1,000% doing the right thing for the horses. One wrong move and someone’s leg could break and that would be comparatively catastrophic. You ARE doing the right thing and I’m so grateful that you care about your four-legged babies so deeply. ❤
Your going to be ok Jami, you have angels watching over you and the babies. Never feel bad for doing the right thing for them, their safety is #1. I had to live in a FEMA camper for 2.5 years while we went through red tape to build another house after Katrina. You got this, the JL was placed in your path for a reason, safe refuge and lush grass. I know that JL doesnt have internet, a suggestion from me is go to a TMobile and get their internet, they use ATT towers and they are portable, can take it anywhere. It also is only $50 a month. I work for a Jeep dealership in St Louis, not T-MOBILE 😂. You can work from JL if you have to! I'm so sorry this is happening to you all but you two always see the caution and make things safer. Prayers for easy rebuild of the land and grass. Your all going to be ok! 😇👼🏼
The washouts might be a blessing in disguise. That area diverted water away from the pond to bypass the pressure onto your earthen dam. Challanges have never eluded either one of you. Stay strong,. You all are in our prayers.
