Superhero shows/movies have been ran into the dirt sadly, I feel like if the original Ironman came out today nobody would really care much and probably think it’s just a decent movie that’s how overinflated the market is for superhero movies.
Agreed but I feel like the boys and this spin off get a pass bc it’s a somewhat realistic take on how much damage someone with superpowers can actually do in the real world and what’d it be like if the people given those powers were terrible human beings. It’s at least different from most of the content we see from the genre.

These are not like the normal super hero shows they have a completely different spin on the genre , you clearly haven't watched either of them if that is your take .
the spin off doesnt get a pass because that's exactly what it is... a spin off. It doesn't do anything new or innovating within the super-hero genre except for raunchy humor and the occasional practical effect. @@hprice8922

The coolest thing about Jordan, is the guy and the girl have different powers. The guy has super strength, the girl is fast af and can use the energy blasts.

The whole point of this show and The Boys is to speak on social issues. Also the whole "black girl fighting the white patriarch" argument completely falls apart when you realize that the villain is an Indian-American woman. I like these guys but not everything that has a message is "woke." People love throwing that word around improperly

@joC1997 Yeah, I don't think they understand the difference between "woke," which really isn't a thing, a social issue, and politics. The problem is that everything has to be made into a political issue instead of social issues. Like the treatment/ inclusion of transgender (or in the case of the show bigender), people in television and movies isn't some political statement, there are just people that exist and the people creating these things want them to know that they're seen
The show is surprisingly good, not the level of The Boys. But better than 95% of what is out rn, despite being about woke gen z’ers.
If the boys is a 9/10 I think Gen V is an 8 or 8.5. Tons of references, sneaky humor, poking fun at wokeness/pandering and Gen Z problems and it takes normal teen/college coming of age tropes and uses them in the boys universe in a really good way. Also I think all of the actors are cast very well. The latest episode was such a good mindfuck

Gen V is one of the best shows that came out in a good while in my opinion. I would even go as far as saying it is much more fun than the Boys, right off the bat.
