Nice shiny new toy - I hear Dalton has responded to the criticism coming from NZ regarding his justification to take it overseas - under Dalton it's gone from a sailing competition to a business proposition where he as CEO appears to be setting the goals and hence the requirements for funding.
What a slap in the face to the city and country that gave you so much by hosting the next AC offshore. Decades of sailing heritage on the Waitemata, from the ocean race stopovers, to the many AC defences, to simply inspiring the next generation of NZ sailor. Its called 'the city of sails' for a reason. Certainly a good way to alienate your home fans. Sir Peter Blake would be turning in his grave in his lucky red socks.
I was more embarrassed by the NZ Govt lack of inaction and imagination to permit the big spenders to come in during AC36. I wish it was still going to be in Auckland but I'm old enough to remember the 2003 campaign limp along to defeat because they didn't get the resources in place to win 2 years prior. It feels way worse than watching Barcelona cough up $$$ that don't exist in NZ.
Oh good! I’m so happy! Now that we’ve paid for it, I wonder if we will ever see it in New Zealand - or if it is headed for Barcelona with the rest of our “investment!”. ?
The cost to the environment for electrical power is so often overlooked when people start waving their "Green" flags but unlike most locations around the world, NZ hydrogen is produced with geothermal steam power.
@@RexyH267 They've pissed off a lot of Kiwi's by taking the cup racing offshore & the hydrogen thing will be about as desirable as tit's on a bull over there.
Looking blady good For toyota must be also great showing in barcelona -Europe what japan do since 10jears. Push hydrogen powered, here in europe politicians now talking mostly only about battery cars! Japan with NewZealand hopefully working thogheter in hydrogen, maybe aussies also? Gives toyota hydrogen cars and marine motors a big boost.
Biofuels/E-fuels are better than hydrogen fuel cells. They have much higher energy density, completeley CO2 neutral and can be used with existing engines.
Come on mate, move on. Team NZ can make 10 fold their funds compared if they stayed in nz. Besides I don't give a shit where they have it as long as it puts NZ on the map and most of all keeps the cup. You kiwis always moan about how much money the government puts in and pays for the AC and now ya moaning about it being off shore... GO TEAM NZ
@@robinstone1196 Sure they can make that money but then it isn't Team NZ. Also I'm Australian in case you didn't notice my picture. But also it removes the advantage of sailing in your own back yard by doing this.
@@ajaxon8071 So yeah, it's about a sports team that represents nz. Simple the end. It's probably the most expensive game to play and be part of in the world.
Remember that it's a Auckland sailing club not a New Zealand funded team like the All Black's or any other fully funded team yes they are a New Zealand based team but not fully funded buy them if we push it will be called Team Emirates not Emirates Team New Zealand so get over it it's a business that needs money and alot of it they tried to get the money but came up short so you do what you have to do to keep a business running.
You said it exactly. It is a business not a sport and should be treated as one. Tax payers should not prop up private business. I think this needs to be applied to all sports turned into businesses.
Congratulations on the successful launch! And thank you for the great collaboration and trust in our materials and engineering support.

Completely agree bro, just want the money off-shore. Do it for the fans, not the money

good to see what you've been up to bobby k!!!
Where are you & how are you getting the hydrogen?. Because, unless the process is clean & green then this is a mockery.

@@nzsaltflatsracer8054 As a KIWI I should have remembered that. So not such a bad idea could be an export market there.

This was the only option for current AC chase boats.
The plaining versions must have had horrific fatigue levels for the crew.
Keen to see it up and running...
Love it

Cool, can we see it actually go though?! Or is this just an expensive buoy?
Any plans to power your jumbo jets with hydrogen Emirates?
Sir Peter Blake will be turning in his grave
All that talent,,,all those brains and design,,,seriously,,,not exactly a Ferrari
keen to see what the nz govt is going to do with the event center and viaduct since you lot are going to be pissing off to Barcelona , 😆

Honestly I was really excited for this project but not so much anymore, cool machine though.
Team Spain bye bye
soo that's where the money went that could've been used to host the new cup ...
😅
What a low act to turn you back on NZ and host the next AC in Barcelona. The whole point of winning the AC is to host it in your own country.
