Very cool! When i was driving truck in the early 90s, I used to see new yellow primered EMD hoods on extendable drop-frame trailers going from Super Steel in Milwaukee to the EMD plant in La Grange, IL or maybe even London, ON, CA, all the time. Even got a few pics. On one UP hood, one of the Super Steel employees had chalked a drawing of the weatern US with a map of the UP and a herald. Lucky I got pics when traffic slowed and i got a chance to go ny him.
I had an apartment that overlooked the I-90. One day I was looking out the window and a hood for an SD90 went by. That was one of the neatest things I saw then. I remember it well!
15 miles east of Ottawa, KS at the intersection of Hwy. 68 and Osawatomie road, someone has the radiator section of a BNSF GE sitting in their yard. It's visible on Google street view.
After some research about the 4913, Norfolk Southern bought that locomotive, and 24 others, for use as rebuild cores. The 25 of the Dash 9's they bought from GECX (ex BNSF), were shipped directly to the Wabtec plant in Erie PA, and would be rebuilt into 4856-4880. That radiator of the 4913 might head off to a scrap yard, and probably left Wabtec from a different location.
We had an incident years back now where a truck carrying a radiator like that for CSX was hit at a crossing by a CSX train . Fortunately nobody was hurt but I guess the driver figured the train could just take their parts from there .
Hola una pregunta la norfolk southern la modernizaron o repararon ? cuantos años tiene esa locomotora o por algún motivo está alli un saludo desde Argentina
Thanks for including the link to this video in my video of the BNSF 4913 from when she was in service 12-years ago. ua-cam.com/video/gPvgfjBx6o4/v-deo.htmlsi=RWyk7xffwZNMZcuZ It is neat to see what becomes of these engines after time. And how about those 2 hood gap filler panels from BNSF on the NS 4844.
The thumbnail threw me off so hard

I thought it was Photoshop LOL

Same!
Same bro
I've heard of street running, but this is ridiculous. Also, it almost sounds like 2015 has a Leslie S2M.
I believe so!
OK, custom-truck guys!! There’s your inspiration: an EMD locomotive cowling and cab fitted to a truck body!! Get to work!!
Wow I’ve never seen anything like them before. Nice video!
Thanks!
I've never seen this kind of street running!

I see it! Looks like it was turned into a corn crib!
4844 had a slight hint of BNSF still on it. I enjoy see patch jobs from previous owners
1:49 Metrolink if they had Gevos.
Awesome catches!! I bet that was fun!
It was definitely different!

I'm looking at a literal Frankenstein...
Well that’s…interesting. Guess intermodal can be done the opposite way
Most interesting train thing I’ve seen this year
It will get better later this year!
I think they got the back of cart 1 wrong , also is the truck carrying something that's for the pre-NorfolkSouthern General Electric train
PERO QUE CHINGON SE ESCUCHA LAS 2 MAQUINAS ESO ES LO QUE TANTO ME APACIONA 😅😅😅🧔🧔🧔🧔🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂
Good video. I love that truck load.
Thanks!
I thought that was a whole BNSF locomotive, but find out it's just a Radiator section

That's ironic and funny at the same time!
Ima fan of SP day light and NS 911 and a fan of KCS ghost train engin
Bro the thumbnail 💀
Oh why hello!
hello!
That thumbnail scared me so bad 😭
What line did you see NS 4844, because it looks like that line had past electrification.
The former GE test track. The electric lines were removed in 2019

Another neat video and enjoyed watching once again. Have a wonderful upcoming Tuesday. Steve
Thanks Steve! You as well!
Nice catch
Thank you very much!

Neat to see it in service!
does 2015 have a K2, sounds like one of the rotems on metrolink
Haha yes I think so unless it’s a super foul K5HL that sounds like Metrolink.
That train rear on the truck really
I think they are still building in erie
So there’s no more BNSFs dash 9 and AC4400CWs too?
Those are Wabtec owned for NS. None have been completed or released.
Nah BNSF has a ton of dash 9’s
@LostMyLawnMower do they have the most out of all the Class l railroads?

1:48 METROLINK
They should just leave the old ns logo on that ac44c6m
that helper engine has two horns for some reason
The thumbnail 😂😂😂😂
BNSF's latest new development, 4913 modded with tires to test getting loads easier (/joke)
Where these radiator sections usually go?
Building 22 in the plant.
Scrap
What happend to that?
It is being taken somewhere to be rebuilt.
Is GECX 2015 rebuilt from a Dash 8?
Its an original EF44AC pre production test unit.
@@stephankoenig5481 Oh. Because the engine section looks shorter than usual. That makes sense.
@@sgtdebones It has undergone a few changes since it was built.
2:00 worst NS train horn ever.
Interesting, a locomotive on a truck trailer, how come it wasn’t shipped on the rails?
Oh it’s just a new part for a locomotive!
It was light enough to go by road.
What is the 4913 doing on the riad
It will be rebuilt and reused for an NS order.
Bros railfanning road trains LOL
What's with the half breed ns engine?
Thats what they look like before paint.
What the heck happened to 4913?
4913 is supposed to be rebuilt to NS AC44C6M 4873
It went to detroit
