Excellent video! Super jealous of your gorgeous blueys - great show!
My dog who would otherwise never hurt a fly, had a thing for blue tongues in the garden. The problem was she would break their back but never outright kill them, which also was a nono. We chastised her long and loud and but then just waited til we went out before she'd go sniffing them out.

Do you breed and release blue tongues? Or is there a large enough community of breeders that you are always trading with each other? I love shinglebacks, they're so cute. ^_^
Luptuous Life there are enough breeders here in Australia now if not there are a lot by now I think everyone's really trying to do their part as breeders. I have 2shinglebacks n a bluey

How rare is it to see a big fat all black blue tongue way out in state forestry ? i never see one till last week , and it was huge
i reckon you mean a Land Mullet, they are Australias largest skink, and they are not blue tongues but they are skinks too and look very similar except they are bigger and black
i think you,re correct i just did google on land mullet ,looked like one come to think of it now ,i never head or land mullet lol ,

Are blue tongues illegal to export from Australia? Even the morphs? I never understood restricting export of obviously captive bred animals.

***** There are but they rarely if at all have any different paint jobs. Even the basic albinos are hard to find and if you find it, they are very expensive.

How bout Eastern and Pygmy blue tongues
So, is captive reptile breeding based on inbreeding and defects? or am I understanding this wrong? Why do captive reptiles produce these strange colorations and/or frequent albinism we do not see in nature?
