For real tho. Imagine this. You are a regular soviet soldier. Your family is poor but you are young and strong with a passion to serve the Motherland and your fellow comrades. You have been marching through the snow for weeks now. At one point your commander orders your squad to charge a seemingly empty position. You do so without question and at first everything seems fine. Then one of your comrades falls down dead next to you. Without thinking you throw yourself to the ground. The others go forward. You see or hear them get shot and fall too. Literally shaking you raise your head ever so slightly trying to locate where the enemy is. You see nothing. Deciding not to risk it you lay down and try to calm down. Some time passed and just as you are about to get up you hear another group approach from behind you. Scared, you try to warn them without giving away to the enemy where you are. It doesn't work. As the hours go by more and more bodies cover the ground. Your body is almost frozen by that point but you are determined not to die either by the cold or the invisible enemy. Eventually you cant take it anymore and without hesitation get up and bolt for the nearest cover. No shots come after you. You manage to make it back to base and a medic stabilises you before you succumb to Hypothermia. Thankfully, the conflict ends before you are ordered another such charge.

This museum was originally a coastal bunker during WWII. One night, a night shift security guard was patrolling outside the museum. Suddenly, he heard a group of solders marching from a distance. He heard those solders shouting in Japanese. He was scared and hid in a room nearby. He heard those footsteps coming closer to him. Later, he did not hear those footsteps anymore. In the next morning, he quit his job.
Luke, once when I was 14 years old, I was living with my grandmother. My step-grandfather, Roger, passed away and 6 months later I saw him. I was alone around 1:00am watching TV when I witnessed him walk across the the living-room into his bedroom. He was wearing the same heart-boxers (no joke) and holding a cup of water. He always used to wake up in the middle of the night and get water. He wasn't transparent, he was flesh and blood. I kept it to myself because my family is very religious and I was afraid my grandmother would think I was making a sick joke. After witnessing other strange occurrences around the home, I finally told my grandmother. She told me she believed me. She then told me some super creepy things that had happened to her whenever I was isolated in my room or staying at a friend's house.

She got up, turned on the light and there was the imprint of a person on the other side, as if someone was laying there. On another occasion my grandma came home and there was a single rose sitting in the centerpiece on her dinning room table. My grandpa used to buy her bouquets of roses and place them in the centerpiece. She asked if I had done it, but I had been gone all day and no one else had been home. She would also tell me that she would see shadow figures in the corners of her eye and would sometimes catch them in full view as they bolted away. Something we both experienced together, as well as guests was that the ceiling lights would flicker constantly and would do so until you acknowledged them or said, "Roger" (My grandpa's name) and then they would immediately stop.
I recall a story I heard from a veteran of Pakistan side Kargil war, between Pakistan and India, he said that there were floating white lights that were fighting alongside the them and that the bullet would just disappear when it would come near them. I don't know the authenticity of it but certainly was fascinated by it.
Bo1 is the one that had the tunnel crawling and jump-scares that was the 1st cod game I ever played (when it 1st came out) that mission was also based in Vietnam, the tunnel crawling scared tf outta me though because they would just pop out without warning

Like CoD 1, United offensive which is a expansion pack for cod 1, and CoD2( I advise you to play the CoD1 campaign with a mod called United Fronts, it combines both United offensive and CoD 1 missions with more weapons, better graphics and visuals then puts the two to play in chronological order. also I advise you to play the CoD2 campaign with the Back to Fronts mod which is basically the same thing. I think I will keep letting you know to play these games with these mods) It is truly the only 2 games that really honor the great generation to the biggest degree, besides MoH. So I'll be here reminding you every day.

I served on the Uss Nimitz back in 2008 thru 2011 and Not only I had some ghost experiences, some of my friends as well. Probably the weirdest experience was I got slapped in the face while I was asleep. It woke me up, I could still feel the hand print on my right cheek. I looked around the office room where I was sleeping and nobody was there. I just happen to look at my watch and it was 3:45am. I had to stand a watch at 4:00am that morning. I figured it was a ghost trying to wake me up in time for me to stand my watch.
In the Air Force one, I would have asked to see if the guy could meet me at one of the security gates, then if he couldn't, I would have contacted my supervisor. If I were a Tunnel Rat and I felt like something was chasing me out of a tunnel, I'd probably projectile shit so hard the forces rockets me out of the tunnel.

There was one house in particular that had tons of occurrences. We lived there for 4 years and got used to it. I can’t remember the title or where I saw it from since it was a couple of years ago, but I think my favorite horror story was one of a patrol of Marines that were out late at night in the desert and ran into a figure constantly following them. After having huge suspicion, they all stopped their vehicles to check and it was US soldier, however the gear he was wearing was not like theirs, but Gulf-War Era pattern and weaponry. He looked torn, rugged, and completely lost his mind from the years being lost out there in the desert. I don’t remember much at all about this short story, but I loved it

There is this story that in the 1950s a French couple was staying at a house in Dieppe and then at night heard the sounds of gunfire and men screaming on a nearby beach along with dive bombers swooping down but nothing was there then they later discovered that a amphibious assault took place there in August 1942 where Canadian troops took heavy losses against Nazi defenses

The first US troops sent to Vietnam were members of the 3rd Marine Division at Da Nang in Summer 1965 then more forces got called up and for a decade we fought against Viet Cong Guerillas and NVA soldiers until Saigon fell.
I'm not sure if someone mentioned this but I remember there was this game for the Xbox-360 called, "Shellshock 2," it takes place during the Vietnam War but was also a horror game.
You should check out the series “Weird sh*t I’ve seen as a Marine” by the channel NaturesTemper, it’s super creepy and creates a great atmosphere within the videos

The Americans in Vietnam actually used to play scary audio into the Viet Cong tunnels to scare them.

If I can make a rec for reactions to scary and creepy stories I strongly reccomend Bedtime Stories, they have quite a few military orientated ones. Like Nanjing Battalion, The Monster of Morbach, the Nautical Nightmares and Mysteries of 3rd Reich series, Ourang Medan and Enemy Unseen...
They now have a sub channel Wartime Stories (with different narrator) which focuses fully on weird war stories. Great stuff there too!

I can’t remember the title or where I saw it from since it was a couple of years ago, but I think my favorite horror story was one of a patrol of Marines that were out late at night in the desert and ran into a figure constantly following them. After having huge suspicion, they all stopped their vehicles to check and it was US soldier, however the gear he was wearing was not like theirs, but Gulf-War Era pattern and weaponry. He looked torn, rugged, and completely lost his mind from the years being lost out there in the desert. I don’t remember much at all about this short story, but I loved it

On the last day the Bulgarians didnt have any bullets left so they needed to throw the bodies of the other Bulgarians at the Ottomans. There was only 1000 Bulgarians left vs 25000 Ottomans, but some how we still won. There is this story that in the 1950s a French couple was staying at a house in Dieppe and then at night heard the sounds of gunfire and men screaming on a nearby beach along with dive bombers swooping down but nothing was there then they later discovered that a amphibious assault took place there in August 1942 where Canadian troops took heavy losses against Nazi defenses
