      I also find your videos calming. I’ve been trying to figure out how to say this so here goes. I’m a volunteer animal advocate. I see cruelty everyday. Sometimes I just need to be somewhere normal and safe that restores my faith in humanity. I find that your videos are very helpful. I’m not Jewish but I’m very interested in Judaism. I did an Ancestry DNA test a few years ago and apparently I have some European Jewish ancestors. No one in my family knows who. I think it was a few generations ago. But I digress. Chana, your pleasant personality, your warmth, your easy laugh are just the tonic I need when I need a break from my volunteer work. I do think the work I do is very important. I hope it makes the world a better place for animals and humans alike. I want my grand kids to inherit that better world.

    If you ever run out of a frosting bag again, you can use a zip lock bag and cut the corner of it off. If you Google or UA-cam it you can see different ways to cut it and get different designs even. ☺️

    I made the carrot muffins, they were so good. I only used I/2 cup sugar cause I don’t like things too sweet, and I used fresh milled whole wheat flour, plus I put the grated carrots in the food processor since they were a kinda rough grate. So good, now I am making the apple kugal. Candle lighting time is in 25 minutes here! Shabbat shalom!

      Few days later and I ended up making them myself (I’ve been going through some things and needed a pick-me-up)!! Went to Target earlier today to get the ingredients 🙂 I made some slight alterations to fit my preferences / what I could find lol. I ended up subbing the Rich’s whip for a stick of regular butter and melted that with the chocolate chips in the microwave (the chocolate didn’t exactly turn into mousse but still delicious). Also, I couldn’t find marshmallow fluff so I used regular marshmallows instead. And I was really hoping Target would have those cute little dessert cups but after spending forever looking for them, I couldn’t find them, so I ended up using Mason jars I already had. The end result - delicious!! Mine ended up being much bigger than 3 oz though so I only had enough to make 2.5 cups (I ran out of chocolate halfway through the 3rd one) but it’s going to take me several days to get through one of them, especially because I live alone. Lol 😊

    • @RinaNewhouse
      @RinaNewhouse Рік тому

      I also made these dessert cups! They were a lot of fun to make! I also made a few substitutions, but mainly sticked to your recipe. Since I didn’t need my s’mores cups to be pareve, I used a 1:1 ratio of regular heavy whipping cream to chocolate chips, and since I couldn’t find those exact cups, I used a mini mason jar! I like using whipping cream just like you because it helps form the chocolate into a ganache, which will turn into a beautiful texture after refrigerating for a few hours! Other than that, I kept everything else to a T: even using Gefen chocolate chips and pareve marshmallow cream! Yummy recipes, Chana! You’re unleashing the inner Shabbos baker in me!

    Hi Hannah, I know this was a year ago but hopefully you will see my comment.
    If you don’t have a piping bag handy, you can make your own with parchment paper.
    I’m sure you can Google this or look at a video on UA-cam. Cut a large piece of parchment paper into a triangle make sure the point is facing you take one end of the parchment paper and roll to a point, once you have a cone just tuck in the top part of the paper so the cone will hold together. Then you can fill it with whatever you like fold over the top of the parchment paper to seal in your icing. Then cut a very tiny piece off the tip of the cone. Remember not to cut such a big piece off at first because you can always cut a bigger piece if you need it.
    Hope this helps you.

    Chana, If you roll the cookie dough into a roll in parchment paper, then refrigerate, you can save time from all the separate scooping, and save space in the fridge. When ready to bake, just take the roll of cookie dough out, and slice thin or thick to bake. You can bake off a few or all.
    Depending on how hard the cookie dough is, it may help to warm the knife in hot water before cutting the dough.

    Also, before you mentioned Noom and you sat down to eat your breakfast I thought “girlfriend is looking like she’s lost some weight!” Good for you!! I totally understand about losing that extra weight gained from multiple pregnancies. Have an awesome Shabbat

    You can also use a bit of oil on baking paper ( doesn’t affect taste ) and use that instead of a piping bag bc u can just fold it over to make a hollow cylinder shape . U food always looks so delicious and maybe u could hv put three slightly broiled mini marshmallows on the top of the dessert .

    If you run out of icing bags but have loads of greased proof paper you can cut a circle of the paper roll into a cone, fold the edge and snip the tip and use that as a piping bag as well as a snipped food bag. Sorted and stress free till your next shop🇬🇧

    No matter how much we plan to be organised the day always seems to run away with us. But hey you got most of that list done along with caring for your children & filming, you really are doing great. I agree with so many of the comments here about how calming your videos are, as soon as I hear the music start, I sit back relax, enjoy & learn something new. I think the mini cup desserts are a fantastic idea, the different contents could be endless, I hope to see more of your mini creations 😊💕 I did chuckle during the bloopers when I heard a little voice shout "Action" you certainly have a little team encouraging you along !

    Good for you for taking time to work on your health- I noticed the weight loss right away! I hope I’m not being presumptuous but as someone who spent months with a loved one in a burn unit- I am going to suggest using back burners when you cook and moving your Shabbat water urn to a location out of reach of little hands. Have a peaceful Shabbat and enjoy your company!

    Channa, nice desserts, love them. Continue exploring, maybe some fruits could bring some freshness to the mix. And a little tip, you can use little plastic bags to put cream or so, first put cream in bag, then make a little diagonal cuts in one end bellow. All my love❤️
