      @signorellil 2 роки тому +69

      "One ship a day" is the understatement of the year. At the peak of its strength, the arsenal could produce a 60 ships strong fleet in 30 days. This because the Serenessima had ALWAYS 60 hulls ready to be made into full "galee". Thia meant they they could absorb losses nobody else could. Also - Arsenale personnel had lifetime employment, paid sick leave, paid retirement, and free food during their work days. The other side of the coin - any any attempt to "leave" or divulge the secrets of the Arsenal meant death

    Very, very good video. Easy to understand, beautiful visuals, and a lot of info on a subject, which is incredibly underrated and neglected, despite its economical, cultural etc. influence in the history of Europe and the World.

    very nice documentary. I look forward for the next part. - Additionally I would like to say that in my area Venetian precence was very intense during Morosini expedition in Morea (Peloponnese). If you need any help in your research I can help you. Also we must say not only the Ottoman - Venetian wars but the Venetian wars against pirates. There are many documnets describing these conflicts.
