do you know if there is any sound guides for getting an awesome tone like you did in this playthrough also is there a guitar tab for this song
Do you have the Bass in notation?
THIS IS HOW PLAYTHROUGHS SHOULD BE.
no fancy angles, no crazy zooms, no sweeping camera frames. Just exact close ups of what is be played. Focusing on what we want to see at certain riffs. Perfect.
And no bongs.
Guitar porn
How do you do vocals and this Jesus
questioning the same shit
Matthew Curtiss *How do you do vocals and this, jesus?
*How do you do vocals and this? Jesus.
Matthew Curtiss 😂
who is Jesus?
Indubitably impressive, but I think I would have liked it more if you played the intro too, it's one of the best acoustic riffs I've ever heard.
*had played.
I think.
Thanks to Obscura I got into progressive/technical death metal. I am surprised that they are not more famous.
Same as you! I was familiar with prog metal but not tech death. Obscura are masters in that genre, can't wait to see them live when this f***in virus will allow us to do so. Keep safe and keep it metal \m/
@@eglantinefrancoisg.9243 I really hope they come to Gothenburg sometime.
And hopefully bring Beyond Creation and Virvum or Alkaloid with them.
Oh my Steffen.....
great name and pic!
oh my necro-fuckin-gist! )
Deserves more likes!
I appreciate that you actually did a playthrough instead of a mime-through!
Its really fucking cool that Steffen is doing Christian's solos. He's a good ass guitar player
rhythm guitarists live often in the shadow of the lead ones. I think he deserves recognition. not to mention that he sings while playing this.
@@LadyEvil88 Obscura is all leads 😂 Steffan gets so much disrespect from Muenzner fan boys.
Steffen is the absolutely talent.
That acoustic! OH MY GOD.
what a surprise with Steffen doing the Christian's solos!
Christian Hëffner :o
Christian Hëffner I heard in an interview that he records everything (even solos) on one song, and then Rafael does the same for other songs on diluvium
He also plays this solo live
I am practicing this song since a year now and I still struggle at the main riff, thanks for the upload :)
oh men, this song, this has been my inspiration in hard moments of my life since 2012 and finally came this moment :')
Wow!! Steffen has a very nice phrasing!! he nailed every bit of the song!! awesome!
i fucking love this song!
I love how it looks like he recorded it in 2011, same lighting and all, this song is fucking amazing, and i probably watch the vortex omnivium playthrough almost every week, lol. Im requesting playthroughs for: universe momentum, cosmogenesis, euclidean elements and velocity(just rythm), weltseele.
NOOSPHERES!
I agree
Insect Warfare agree
Insect Warfare Ocean Gateways!
Insect Warfare Ocean Gateways!
My first time listening to this song on the album, I was absolutely blown away and had on repeat for the better part of a year. Finding this playthrough amplifies the impact this has had on me 1000 fold. Truly one of the greatest compositions ever written!
It's not really the object of attention here but just wanted to point out wow that's a really pretty acoustic.
Oh no I agree to its beautiful hence the beautiful tone it gives off
so beautifully played!! the solo literally blew me away
been waiting for this.. thanks for uploading
Steffen, you're killing it man!!!
Awesome.
Incredibly fluid and economical playing.
One of my favourite of all time!
One of my favorite song and he made it look easy to play
I'm amazed at how effortlessly it seems that these guys play the guitar. Awesome guitar playing, and the electric guitar is awesome looking! :)
what an amazing song!!!!!
Steffan. Thank you for this. Greatest Song in the universe
Listen it every time at last ten years, and always think, that didn't hear anything better. Obscura-you are the Great!
Truly inspiring
i didn't know, but i needed this in my life!
I adore that guitar
He makes this look so easy...
@@stevieholland3579 I learned it, and holy fuck the main riff was so hard to get down when I started.
Now I know how to play the entire song, and the effort paid out. I've improved in basically everything by learning the rythm guitar. And it's damn fun to play too.
@@lashedandscorned Yeah, that main riff is a bitch. Took like two weeks to get down. When he end the main riff section, just before the main verse, that gave me a lot of problems for a bit. Starting to get it, but damn. I wish I could write stuff this bad ass and not just cover it. Steffan is probably my favorite player right now. I so wish he gave lessons lol
@@stevieholland3579 Christian Müenzer is probably the dude that wrote the riff.
Both are great guitarists.
@@stevieholland3579 I mean, the riffs in the song sound very bach-like, and Christian loves Bach.
The main riff is harmonized aswell.
@@lashedandscorned You are correct. In the tab book it states that Christian and Steffan merged two songs together. Hannes made the epic intro. Just noticed that. Apparently the song took them a long time to finish
What a great band
Master! Thank You!
Love me some Obscura. Honestly, these guys are the modern day DEATH IMO. They sound nothing like DEATH, but they have their own place. Just keeps getting better.
Listen to Decrepit Birth. I literally feel like they could be Death in 2020
retribution and cosmogenesis had a death-y vibe to them
@@xenochrist4286 I will check them out....thank you
@@Wrathofkala diminishing between worlds and polarity are definitely death af
nope, just nope
This guy is a true badass. Makes it look easy
I was waiting for this
Septuagintillion times awesomeness!
Amaaaazing!!!
el maestro! perfecto!
You guys are AMAZING guitarists! For the longest time Emperor and At The Gates were my 2 favorite bands.
Now Obscura and Inferi are
That is very awesome keep up the good work
it looks so easy. great guitar player \m/
Stilll my fave Obscura song and one of my fave songs ever :DDDDDDD, SUCH MASTERFUL RIFFING AHHHHH
Loved it
That's so great!! So much talent!! On another parallel universe..Can you imagine Obscura with Eric Adams on vocals????
Thank u for upload this...now i can play this song😉✨👍🤘
Lol i wanna see this
Bout fukin time! This made my day!
The best song a man can create
Awesomeness
I listen to this song every morning on my way to work. Ready to taking a dump on my boss s desk one of these days haha
You play Christian Müenzer solo that’s so awesome kicking butt as always on guitar acoustic or electric Steffen Kummerer keep rocking as always!
Lol they both write solos wtf. It's his solo
We could of used a full playthrough of this. This song is badass.
Pelase in the future make a video of the making of the álbum, i want to See how you make a song like this, im not a composer and i dont know anything about the process, and watching a video like this one is like "dude where did all this come from?" All the chords the solos etc.
You are one of my favorites bands and this song i think it's my favorite cause this is the first song i've ever heard. Thank you for the amazing music, hope to see you soon in my city again (Monterrey México). :D
this is a ffing MASTERPIECE ffing love OBSCURA
wtf is ffing
im weard " freaking fucking" masterpiece : p
His alternate picking is out of this world.
Geniooooooo!!!!!!!!!! Temaso!!!!!
It's always exciting to see you Steffen performing another solo by Christian again please do more play through for the cosmogensis and omnivium records! Also if you can do play throughs for the retribution album! Also do more akroasis play throughs with Rafael do Fractal Dimensions next if you can that song is awesome! Keep up the awesome work and playing Obscura rules!
Nothing playthrough!
Good stuff
Hey...we need an expansion of that acoustic intro. Just a heads up fellas. Keep up the kick ass mastery of music
This man is so tight an entire highschool football team couldn't loosen him up.
MyDixierect 🤨
There’s always someone in the comments trying a little too hard
@@Jazzguitar00 if that's considered too hard then I imagine you have no imagination.
very based comment , thanks egg , ur truly the best breakfast
Мощно 💪
oh my... eargasm 3:)
"So you said you play a little guitar, huh?".At a crowded guitar store:you break out with this shit..
Fucking amazing! I almost had forgotten about this song!
This is beautiful.
FI-NAL-LY
Can we get a bass play through next
The part that starts at 4:05!
Master
Beste Band in der Welt
The best of mall-goth metal volume 1
playthrough celestial spheres next. i like that song and solos. please
Aaaaaaaaaaaawwwww yeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaa!!! Finally👌👌👌👌👌
Великолепно
And beautiful guitar what Brand??_
Weltsteele next please!!!
Thats a really nice a acoustic guitar. Who made it?
Ibanez
Epic shreddage
The acoustic riff drives me...
Simeone can answer to me which scales do obscura use?
This is the only Obscura I like, but goddamn do I ever like this song.
I had ever wanted know how to play velocity from omnivium
VICTOR URIEL MARTINEZ PEREZ best track of omnivium
1:59 is easily one of the best riffs ever written
Legit forgot where I was during this. Holy balls.
1:55 real obscura hits
I used to think this song riffs were the most difficult ones in the entire metal music. Until i tried to learn Fallujah's Sapphire. Random shit, sorry, i need to let this out.
Gus Machine Sapphire by Fallujah is sick af, best track of the band in my opinion!👌👌👌
Sapphire is fairly tricky but IMO the Harvest Wombs stuff was harder to play
Prisonofthemind cerebral hybridization is awesome too!
Ibai Kintana Fuck yeah, I think Prison of The Mind is my favorite
Try playing the riffs in Chapter II or Titan by Jason Richardson. I've never attempted either of the songs you mentioned so i could be underestimating them, but the JR riffs make them appear to be a walk in the park in comparison.
日本から見てます!
dat action, looks like the strings are touching the frets :)
Still their best song to me, with Celestial Spheres up there too.
Omnivium IMO is their best album, Christian is a musical titan. He is a substantial addition to any band. You can feel his impact, Cosmogenesis was great and i love it but this is just on another level, and the next two albums you could hear the cynic/ death influence.
Edit: typo
@@petethegreek8933 Did you know that Christian and Jeroen are back in the band? And that they finished recording everything a while ago?
I can't fucking wait for the next album.
Imagine disliking this video.
Musically educated people can't \m/
@@eglantinefrancoisg.9243 not really, i'm not musically educated and i love this
@@bardiabahrampour4166 well that’s a very good starting point then 😉
Holy fuck, his moves look so animated.
Awesome! Love seeing Steffen play some Omnivium material - buuut hands and guitar track aint matching up at 1:40 and 5:22. Tsk tsk
im pretty sure hes playing most of his parts only, that other melodic bit is muenzer's.
Sure. but still in those sections his hands are doing something different than what either guitar is doing in the song.
If you look and listen closely he plays the guitar you here at the left side, and its spot on! Its some sort of riff with short arpeggios that he makes very smoothly :)
You are correct. According the first official guitar tab book (there are 2 versions of the book, the first book bound and then the spiral bound version released a few years later) released by the band, they indicate who plays what part. Christian does indeed play the melodic arpeggio during that part where is Steffen is fast double picking. It probably would have helped if Steffen got Rafael to participate in the video so we all didn't have to "decipher who's playing what and when". LOL. Overall, I'm happy Steffen decided to release a video for this song.
What guitar is that?
Do I need to buy a 7 string to play this?
If u havent ur missing out good investment in the future
Are there any non-musicians who listen to this?
I'm not a musician, but I still really appreciate hard-earned musicianship, technicallity, artisan-level songwriting, et cetera. I love Tech Death x3
yeah, i just really like complicated music
This is the supersayayin version of scavenger of human sorrow.
i can hear necrophagist on that riff
The action on that guitar is lower than avenged sevenfold's testosterone count
i wish i could get my action that low
Your statement is as basic as a heavy metal fan wearing all black with a pointy guitar. How original.
@@jasonadams3581 Isn't that just Steffen tho? lol.
To clarify, I was reffering to the "wearing all black with a pointy guitar" part.
'yeah man, look at me, I hate avenged sevenfold because everyobody else does, look at me, I'm so cool, give me likes plsss'
