Seen him last night....singing this song......in the middle of a church stood on top of a pew with his band scatter around the room mixed amongst the crowd......the whole room sang. It was real music.
Im going to see him live on Nov 4TH in MTL and im really hoping he plays this song this son is just such a beutiful song with really good lyrics that just really touches me and seeing him perform it live just adds so much more impact to the song
I love how everybody, including Canadians love to diss Nickelback, can we just all agree they've had great success, even if your not fond of their music, show some respect.
Pretty sure every country does this and why not? It's okay to be proud of our good artists, athletes, people, etc. It's also normal for us to point out those we are ashamed of. Also, most canadians don't give 2 sh*ts about what americans think of them...
It's because we share a border with a culture-co-opting machine, and we barely have a national identity as it is, because we're more of a conglomerate of other cultures ourself. We have to cling viciously to anything that could be conceived as uniquely canadian, because we're trying to hold onto any kind of identity we might have.
Mostly Canadians just get lumped into USA as north american and mostly are assumed to be American except french canadians because of there accent so its natural for us to clarify. Not that uncommon for ppl just to assume someones american and then go oh I didnt realize they were canadian
I love how Canadians have to let everyone know when a musician is Canadian... or anyone else special for that matter (yes, we all know Jim Carey is Canadian too... real cool). It's like short-man-syndrome on a national scale.
Well first off, I'd have to say that most American cars are crap... but that's beside the point. America is still a superpower and still has some right to do be proud of American made things. Because of that fact, it's not so much a Napoleon Complex, but more of just overbearing pompousness on America's part. Canada has no grounds for narcissism. It's just... America's hat. Hence, the Napoleon Complex/Short-man-syndrome.
