It's so sad the Osage people were exploited and murdered for their land and resources.Europeans have caused so much suffering around the world with their plundering and massage of people with colonisation.I wish the Osage people peace and I hope the receive what was stolen from them.

Truly interesting and more than a little depressing to realize how little things have changed. Our species has not grown very much have they? The wealthy and the powerful with their Machiavellian ethos, will always subjugate the poor. Well done presentation Sir, I really enjoyed it.

The Osage we're not poor. They were in fact wealthier than those who persecuted and murdered them.

I have lived in Tulsa since 1995. I have known a few lifelong locals that were born during the Depression, a decade after the murders, and 20-25yrs after the Osage oil boom. They still indulged in stereotypes of the Osage as rich, entitled. It's crazy.
An interesting reference is the movie "Tulsa" (1949) that purports to depict the the oil boom in the early 20th century. It can be found on UA-cam.

Martin Scorsese is directing the film adaptation of this book with Leonardo DiCaprio and it is possible that Robert De Niro will be in the film as well.

Seems kind of ironic but David looks similar to William Hale. Having said that I'll bet William Hale would hate the fact that the man who exposed his treachery to the world looks just him ...

Saw the movie and liked it, my only concern was that it cost $200 million to make. Unreal, $200 million, there were no large production scenes, it was filmed within a one mile radius and most the movie was dialogue, I would have to question the $200 million ?

Grann doesn't even mention Hale or Burlhardt, -the two major orchestrators and perpetrators of the murders. Odd.

Have just started reading Killers of the Flower Moon and am unable to put it down. Just came across yt video of Grann and find it very interesting. I agree with the previous posters, including Carrie Mitch and especially Oklahoma Norm. I too am Caucasian ( hate to use the word white when describing myself ) and am ashamed by the fact that my race could commit such atrocities in the name of greed.

Me Grann needs to get himself some sort of remote control for his projector. His voice dropping out every two three minutes when he bends over to change the image is hugely irritating. Otherwise, he's written a terrific book.

Just finished reading his book. Very good. I grew up in Hominy OK which is part of Osage County. My grandparents property was separated by a ditch from the Indian Village. The Osage held dances during the summer which included tents for smoking meat, which always smelled so good. I spent many summer nights with my grandmother in her "summer house" where I went to sleep listening to the drums. My 1st crush at 6 was an Osage boy. He used to ride his new bike to my grandparent's house & then let me ride it. My best friends were Osage, & I don't remember ever hearing any negative comments about Indians. Then at 13 or14 we moved away & that's when I began to hear the racist comments & couldn't believe it! I never understood why. Till I grew up anyway. We had kept a little Indian boy for quite a while & I looked at him as a little brother. Yes, I am old! Haha.

I have thought about my comment regarding the youth in the audience and I have since thought because the bitterness was so great, many of the young people are not told about the Indians and those that have come upon it, came upon this knowledge by accident. I saw a similar report on CBS Morning show not long ago. I do not remember hearing anything about this before.
