I am an art professor yet I still enjoy watching your vlogs. It helps me to always remember how students feel about their chores so I would not be hard on them. It can be easy for art professors to forget that their students have other work to do and demand them to finish a heavy load of tasks as if they are only taking one class.. Her art school is very prestigious and it’s like the Harvard of art schools. Perhaps there are other art schools, or maybe if you’re really uncomfortable, you can learn digitally, or go to art classes (which isn’t art school/college/university)

I’m an art major. It’s my 3rd year. I feel so tired and burnt out. I wish I had some of your energy. It has just really drove me into a corner of seeing art as a torturous task rather than something I love and enjoy 😔. I think it’s way cheaper to study on our own time in the end, def better for mental health, and in the end, most likely more productive when it comes to learning the important skills that can’t be taught.

Depending on how your syllabus for your liberal class (or any class you see having a bunch of essays for), all the topics and what not should be laid out and you can just spend a day in the library knocking out all the outlines/rough drafts of things before stuff gets crazy. That’s what helped me at SCAD. And be prepared to make so many thumbnails

Man you remind me of my days in art college too, and I just graduated. All those nights making drawings and paintings with no end in sight, even though picking this degree was honestly an afterthought. But you’ll totally make good friends there because everyone suffering together makes it a whole lot better than suffering alone :)

I took art courses in my community college, and I never realized how much art the professors expect you to make. I was always overwhelmed and was like: "Woah, woah, woah, slow down!"
I still enjoy art, but at my own pace. I feel like I would have a meltdown every day if I decided to go to art school.
(I was also always jealous of everyone else in my class. Their artwork was always so much better than mine, and I felt like a failure)
now your scaring me since i plan on taking a design and drawing class next semester at my local community college I also have to take my math credit so if art is going to take up all my time im scared for my math class😭😭🥲

I've never been to a university, just a community college. It's not super difficult. You just have to manage your time and effort wisely. Some professors don't give you strict due dates, and you can complete them whenever. It sounds good, but if you put things off till the late minute (like I kinda did), it's stressful to complete it all. I was never super motivated to do art projects because I wasn't interested or didn't like what I had to draw/paint.
I was told I needed an advanced math course. So I had to take statistics, and I absolutely hated it. I talked with someone else, and they told me I could drop the stats class and take other classes to cover the credits. I did that instead, I just really hated stats 😩
6:11 I think many have the same problem (me included) but i think your attitude is just so fricking cool, ur attitude IS the outfit and it's pretty 🫵🫶

I'm so glad to see others came here to say it. She'll probably defend herself by saying that's "exposure" but honestly I already knew that was @camileon and it rubbed me the wrong way. Unless she asked for permission beforehand, she had no business taking this amazing artist's video and shove it in there for her own monetary reasons. LMFAO I am studying both linguistics and literature since it's my first year (i get to choose which one I want in 2 years from now), but SAME. Everyone looks like a main character in an anime or a netflix series.
